XOC Tequila Grill calificaciones y reseñas
This place never fails to deliver when he comes to service! The servers are Pleasant, well-informed, and always willing to go the extra step to make you happy. Pablo, a tenured service at XOC, and Daniel, a great new addition to the staff, made my last visit memorable. Michael, one of the owners, is engaged and has a very pleasant disposition. I highly recommend this local gem!
Our service was not that great. We waited what seemed like forever for our waitress to come and greet us even though she was in the area for quite sometime. I was surprised to find out that she was actually our waitress because she had ignored us for so long. Our strawberry margaritas were lacking flavor however the steak and chicken taco dishes we ordered were good and flavorful. The outdoor seating area was really nice. I liked the food, however it would take a lot to get me back there because it was quite expensive with small portions.
We were really disappointed dining here. The food was very bland with a TON of salt and there was really nothing special to it that separated it from the local
Chili's. My sangria was undrinkable - it was very heavy on the Malibu to the point that I felt I was swallowing a fragrance.
Our waiter seemed rushed and crazed. He tried to take our card without bringing us the bill and then told
Us to have a good night without taking our form of payment once he did bring it.
The biggest problem was the temperature. In the middle
Of this heat wave it was the same temperature inside as it was outside. I was drenched in sweat by the end of my meal and feeling sick.
Overall we won't be coming back.
While not an entirely authentic Mexican restaurant, everything made for an enjoyable evening - the food, the margaritas, the service and the ambiance. And, despite tall ceilings and hard surfaces conversation was no problem even with a full restuarant.
Frustrated with hostess. We waited behind a couple and she asks them inside or outside. They picked outside, they sat them immediately. We check in next and she sees our open table reservation. Says we have to wait for outside sitting 15 to 20 min. (We specified we wanted outdoor sitting in our reservation.) We had reserved through the app, but she could have cared less. We waited 15 min, as did everyone walking in. :(
*service at the table was great!! :)
We have been fans of this place, and are huge fans of Mexican food in general. But it feels like XOC has declined from the previous times we've gone there. Our drinks came a good 20+ minutes after we ordered them and were not good. My wife sent hers back, and while I didn't send mine back, it was bad. I told the waiter we should not have to pay for the drinks, and while he agreed his manager tried to refund us only one drink and offer us free desert. When I'm having a bad meal I'm not really in the mood to negotiate. They wound up doing the right thing and refunding our drinks. The food was meh. There are so many dining options at the Village; I'll be surprised if this place is here 6 months from now.
They have really good food here. The portions are good as well. The price is decent too! It seems like the last three times we've eaten here we've had the worst service ever. Our waiter on Friday was downright arrogant and inattentive. Unfortunately, for me, three strikes and you're out.
If you have not tried the MOLCAJETE XOC.... you have not had their best dish. Margaritas are delish and the green salsa is amazing. This time service wasn't as great but I think they might have been short staffed since they forgot items we had ordered but they took off the bill. Will be going back for Happy Hour soon or the mimosa brunch.
Although the service was very good, the marguriatas were tasty but no buzz and the food serving were a bit on the small side. It's way too noisy and crowded for our taste so don't plan to go again. Not the fault of the restuarant - we just like smaller more intimate venues with great Mexican food and drinks and this just didn't hit the mark for us.
This is not your "typical" Mexican "chain" restaurants. It has unusual authentic choices. Portions were big and filling, so we split the dishes. The chips are fresh and really good. The "salsas" were not your chunky, tomato and onion type. There was a red smooth salsa and a green salsa. We especially liked the green one. I ordered the Chicken Milanese, pounded breast and lightly breaded, covered with a sauce and cheese. It came with rice and plantains (fried bananas) which were excellent. I split this dish with my friend, and it was enough for both of us. The other dish, Molcajete XOC, was split between two people also. It had steak, sausage, chicken, cilantro, cheese, avocado, and other wonderful things in a heavy round lava-looking bowl. It had a broth in the bottom of the bowl, and the "meats" hanging over the sides of the bowl. It comes with a side of beans, rice and tortillas. This is one of their specialties. You can add shrimp for a little extra if you want. I like sitting on the patio, as it is easier to hear, but the ambiance is nice inside too. Service was great. Waitress was attentive and finished dishes were picked up quickly. The manager even went around checking on people. They definitely have their act together.
We sat down, took 5 minutes before we got a waiter. Carlos was nice and attentive. What was odd was that we got chips and salsa but had no small plates in front of us, so as we were eating the chips, the salsa would drip on the menu we were looking at to order appetizer and dinner.
We ordered two appetizers, yet we still didnt have plates in front of us. Finally I asked a boss boy to bring us plates, and he did. Carlos took our dinner order, and we told him that we will sharing it. We didnt get an extra dinner plate either.
The drinks were good, but water not initillay served unless we asked.
I will admit, I wasn't expecting much. I'm not a huge Mexican food fan in the first place, but made the reservations for my date who is. I was beyond pleasantly surprised. I ordered a Coconut Mojito (with Tito's Vodka instead of rum, so a Faux-jito) and it was literally the best mojito I've ever had. Perfectly made and the flavors were immaculately balanced. For dinner, I ordered the Hamachi and Avocado Ceviche......oh my God, Heaven! Super fresh and creamy and tangy! I don't know if this is the best thing on the menu, but I'd certainly bet on it. My date ordered the Carnitas Enchiladas with the Verde Sauce and it was spectacular. Not a huge Enchiladas fan, but the flavors were amazing. For the price and flavors, you cannot go wrong here. Highly recommended!
Despite arriving 5 minutes early for our reservation and there being plenty of seats open, we were seated 10 minutes after the reservation (standing around for 15 minutes). The wait staff was extremely slow to take orders. That left a bad taste in my mouth. Consequently, I found the food edible but not worth the price. The decor was also ridiculously tacky. Other tables, I could over hear, around us had the same experience. Stay away.
We were 2 couples, met at XOC at 5:30pm on a weekday because we didn't want to have to beat a crowd or have it be noisy. It worked out just great. No crowd. Not noisy. Our server was Kevin and he was exemplary. I'll request him next time we go.
I have enjoyed this venue since they opened about a year and a half ago. Always great service, always very good food, and always good drinks! However, I had occasion to come on 06-12-17with a friend who usually accompanies me here. I wrote about my experience in a separate review. I will say this, my latest visit, has restored my love for this place. I brought two friends here who had just moved back from Hawaii. I wanted them to have an unforgettable time as I welcomed them back to the mainland. XOC did not disappoint. The wonderful welcoming at the door by the hostess, the great service from Pablo, the awesomely made chicken nachos, and the wonderful Cosmos made for me personally by the co-manager, Mike. My friends loved it so much they are likely to come back.
I am usually very satisfied with XOC but this time was shocked. The service was exceptionally great but that was not the issue. My Cosmo came out looking blood red and tasted nothing like a traditional cosmopolitan. Good restaurant manager made every attempt to satisfy my requests but despite his valiant effort's it was futile. My friend and moved over to Jimmy's just across the way which prepared the perfect Cosmo. The chicken quesadilla with his son but tasty but it was clear that The chicken was undercooked. I had the worst bellyache until mid day the next day.
PLEASE SEE UPDATE REVIEW ON 06-14-17
The food and drinks were fantastic! Ribeye Tacos, Flautas, Fish Tacos, tequila flights, and margaritas. Our server Paco never came to our table so Kevin took over after the second request and made up for it. He offered suggestions and recommended drinks and the flan.
This restaurant offers patio seating and authentic Mexican food. The food is good, not outstanding, but the atmosphere and the server make up for what the food may be lacking. We had a very attentive and very personable server. The drinks were great, with recommendations from the server. For a fun, relaxing atmosphere, this is a great neighborhood location.
This was our first visit and we had traditional enchiladas which were some of the best I have ever eaten. Food arrived hot and delicious. Chips were delicate and warm served with two yummy salsas. Lively bar scene and outdoor dining overlooking the shopping village.
