Highly recommended Great experience must come back again soon Thank you
Excellent service, best wedge salad I ever had.
Great service, wide selection of seafood and fish as well as steaks and hamburgers. Loved the”6th and J” cocktail, also the main course black cod, halibut and seabass all selected and loved by our group. Salads were fresh and tasty.
Service was amazing and the atmosphere was very nice
Food is okay for the price. Drinks, service, and ambience are great.
Nice dinner and overall great place
Meeting family for a special dinner.
Amazing seafood! Lobster was sweet and delicious. Would go back.
This had to be the worst food experience we’ve had in a long time. Food was very disappointing everything very salty, from calamari appetizer, to the clam chowder, to wedge salad to sides everything tasted like bacon overpowering the rest of the dishes. The only plus were the breads that were served. This will not be on my list of recommendations for friends. Very disappointing as we were looking forward to a nice seafood meal.
Great service. Sat us right away. Will definitely be coming back!
Great staff and food. Couldn’t ask for a better setting
Great food great service and great vibe!
Halibut was small portion and very bland for the price. Swordfish was good size and pretty tasty. Overall just little over priced for quality, flavor and portion size.
The Restaurant was beautiful, the food was very good. Our server was outstanding! She gave us information on places to sightsee as well as her great service.
The crab cake was okay. The lobster roll wasn’t good; the lobster didn’t seem as fresh as it should have been and I paid dearly for it because I got sick as soon as I got back to my hotel room.
Service across the board was fantastic. Made the visit rememberable.
Food tasted pretty flat. No flavor. You don't get what you pay for.
The food was wonderful, great atmosphere. Will be back
As always, wonderful. The food was exceptional and the service attentive. My wife and I love the opportunities to have a date here.
Was visiting San Diego and chose this place on a whim. Loved the vibe of the restaurant, very friendly staff and service was great. Would definitely recommend and go again.
We were greeted by a friendly manager who also circled around to assure that we were enjoying our meal. Nisha is a great waitress: friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
We ordered our standard manhattan and vodka martini. Both were fine.
Yes, the ambiance is energetic, actually so noisy that we couldn't enjoy a conversation without shouting at each other.
Seabass and Scallops were fresh and delicious. Both were perfectly cooked, both were plated on a bed of cauliflower puree. Scallops were only medium in size and came four to a serving, accompanied by a few roasted cauliflower florets and a few golden raisins. In spite of a pretty bland and uninteresting presentation we enjoyed the fish. We ordered the street corn as a side. It was delicious. More like a second course than a side to our fish.
Having high expectations from water grill reviews and ratings we were excited to eat here. We sat down ordered some drinks, wine, oysters, soup and appetizers. The waitress seemed very friendly and fun. The drinks and wine came and then the oysters and after some time the waitress came to get our dinner order. We ordered salads and entrees. After a super short wait our entrees came out - at the same time as our salads, then we had to ask about the appetizers which were brought out right away and finally the soup. So we had everything on the table at once and had a hard time attempting to enjoy it. The wedge salad was a disappointment - the halibut was amazing as were the mussels. But the overall miss on the timing of the food just was disappointing - especially considering the price tag. The waitstaff didn't seem to care about the mistake and we didn't even receive an apology. Overall for such a high price tag, I wish I would have been able to enjoy it more.
As every other restaurant in this area, parking is an issue, so plan accordingly. Service was excellent, as well as the food. Highly recommend.
Very nice place and great vibe!
We really enjoyed our time at Water Grill! Ironically we had brunch earlier in the day at a popular spot I won’t name here and we were utterly disappointed. So after walking around a bit and burning off our bad brunch, we knew we had to have oysters and we wanted to end our fun day in SD better than it started. We found Water Grill on a whim, looked them up and knew we wanted to try it out. It did not disappoint! Amazing quality food, good friendly and attentive service, and nice quiet vibe inside. The overall interior and design was super cool and we loved all the unique elements. Lastly after having bad, basic watered down drinks at the other place, Water Grill’s drinks were absolutely amazing and sure did hit the spot! We shared oyster sampler, and the Trojan roll. Oysters were clearly fresh and very good! Trojan roll tasted amazing and had the right balance of flavors. These guys know sushi. Thankful to have found Water Grill and we hope to be able to come back for a bigger meal or a full on dinner!
Some of the food came out cold and the service was slow. Overall ok.
Soooo good. Their lobster roll Connecticut style is out of this world, the poke and mussel appetizers were too. We also loved the blackened cod with the soba noodles, such a unique dish with a lot to offer. Wasn't a huge fan of the halibut with cotija and corn - not too much flavor. But I literally went back to this place a week later - I'm obsessed!!
Terrific as usual! Best seafood restaurant in San Diego!
Delicious lobster roll, it’s lemony and on a crispy roll.
Love the staff uniforms!! Ambiance is great! Food is outstanding…just pricey, but not out of line with similar level restaurants! Go!
Food was outstanding! Waitress made great suggestions. Pricey but you get what you pay for.
The black cod was great the king salmon was alright but not great. Crab cake (single cake with a solid outer layer but flakey consistency) and fish tacos (nice crunch) were winners. Cocktails also satisfying (rye) Manhattan and Rosewood (gin drink).
The hostess stand was a terrible first impression. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and were told to go sit down for our table to be ready, which is fine. However, it took us 20 minutes beyond our reservation time to be sat. It also appeared they forgot a couple who had been waiting for their table at the bar. Once we were sat, the experience was fine. The restaurant has cool decor and an interesting menu. The food tasted good and our server was helpful.
We had a great time celebrating our anniversary. Attentive staff, great food!
Our server was horrible
Good and service were good, only issue is they ran out of blue cheese olives for the martinis. Very entertaining spot to people watch.
Water Grill is an exceptional restaurant. Staff is always amazing and drinks and meals are out of this world!!
Kids friendly and we had seafood and it was really fresh and well cooked.
we really enjoyed the oysters and scallops. the food was great..
Excellent evening celebrating a friend’s birthday. The reservation process was quick and easy, the food and drinks were delicious. However, the highlight was the excellent service provided by Ivan. He was mild mannered, informative, attentive and met our every need!
