We have always loved going to Vintanas but it has changed. The menu is not as good as before. The dishes just don’t taste as good and the menu is getting stale. We use to love the drinks but Even the drinks were bad last night. Please fix it up so we can again enjoy your restaurant.
We have eaten at the Vintana in the past and it was delightful. Last night was not. The music was loud and obnoxious! My husband and I just wanted to enjoy a nice relaxing dinner. The food was OK but not like in the past. Disappointed.
It has a very beautiful ambiance with excellent service but the food was lacking a lot of flavor. My steak was under cooked. I ordered my steak medium I got rare. My lobster was ok just was small. Mash potatoes were bland. I was expecting a lot more out of my dish. My date ordered the sea bass with risotto and she said the fish was soggy and the risotto was undercooked. We took a taste of each other’s dish so we wouldn’t think we were crazy but we both agreed that they weren’t up to par. To be honest I had very high hopes on trying this place but fell flat big time. I’d go back if I know that they’re different cooks of chef. I’m sorry but the cost didn’t match the value of the food. Kinda felt robbed.

Enjoyable experience out on the balcony/patio for 4:30 PM service which meant dinning off the $9 app menu until 5:00 PM dinner.
Tired the brie cheese app (my favorite, so good, and a lot of cheese)! & mussels for $9.
At 5 we were able to order dinner fireside with some live music. I had the ahi tuna steaks and my husband had the steak. Both were very good.
Certainly will be back for future occasions. Dining outside at night was really nice but I am looking forward to inside next time.

Butternut squash side was fridge cold. Atmosphere and service was great. However, prices were too expensive for what you are getting.
We love this restaurant, especially the short ribs. We wonder if they got a new chef because the recipe for the short ribs changed. My husband got the pork chop and I had the sea bass. His pork was to have a side of mashed potatoes but came with fries and no explanation why. When our server saw it he offered right away to bring mashed out but we didn’t want him to bother.The sea bass was ok, nothing I would recommend, and my husband sent back his pork chop. The chop was dry and tough. We had the wedge, was excellent as was the butter cake. Our server Daniel went above and beyond, he was excellent! He never rushed us but was attentive. Definitely will ask for him again. When he took back the pork they offered us a dessert. Nothing about taking the pork off the bill. After we talked about it we asked Daniel to remove the pork and charge us for the dessert. I have a long history in hospitality and to be honest, very disappointed they didn’t offer that first thing. That decision came from management, not our server. The pork was like shoe leather, he took 1 or two small bites and sent it back. There should never have been hesitation to take it off the bill, very disappointing we had to be embarrassed and ask.
We will go again, ask for Daniel and hope the food measures up to what we have always enjoyed with the exception of this visit.
We’ve been to Vintana many times, and so much has changed since our last visit. Menu choice was uninspired with lots of duplicates between appetizers and entrees. The seared ahi salad I had was way over-spiced. At over 1 1/2 hours for 2 appetizers, 2 salads and 4 sandwiches with fries we won’t be going back again anytime soon.
Good dinner, plenty of heaters for outside, music was great! Drinks took a while and first contact as well but otherwise good!
First of all, I typically love Vintana and have been there many, many times with friends, family, etc. I also understand that food service, changes in chefs, and other unexpected events have occurred over the course of the COVID pandemic.
However, the dinner quality on January 6th was so bad by Vintana normal standards, and really, any decent restaurant that I had to speak out. When you take your wife out for her birthday and spend 250 dollars, you expect the consistency and quality of a fine dining experience.
I ordered the sea bass dish. The Fish was a bit over cooked, but certainly not the worst thing. My risotto had none of the flavor of the description, and much worse was hard and grainy. A very unpleasant experience. Veggies were off tasting, and a blue cheese olive tasted like it was expired and the cheese was dry and hardened.
My wife said her steak was cooked well, but the seasoning was really bland. The kids item, not that they have high standards , wasn’t very good either. They both didn’t like their burgers and it had an appearance of a cafeteria burger.
At any rate, I am not the type of person to complain too much and frankly didn’t want to wait for a new meal so we just grabbed the bill and left. The server was very good and had dealt with some other complainers so we just went on our way. It would be nice if they reached out to us, but I hope that’s not the new experience.
Great dinner, sat outside and feet comfortable. The only thing that took away from the experience was that half of the staff wore their masks below their noses. Including the hostess, our bus boy, and our server, who was lovely. If you’re going to require staff To wear a mask per the California state order, you should at least make sure they wear them correctly. It was distracting and a little disconcerting.
Previous visits everything was great, even though it's always been expensive. This visit (Jan 2022) the food was just ok and STILL expensive.

It was my husband’s 80 th birthday We ordered the special experience of Champagne and roses The champagne was wonderful but you need to do better with the rose decorations part
I was so pleased to see that there was outdoor seating here. I must say that the firepits create a wonderful ambiance. The service was excellent, and the popovers at the beginning was a fun and unique option. The food was wonderful. The only downer were the cocktails. We ordered classic Manhattans, but received something entirely different.
It started out great, and the dishes were coming fast, then the wheels seemed to fall off and we waited at least 30 min to order dessert. It was my birthday, as there were several in the restaurant that night. These beautiful pieces of mud pies with candles were flying out all night. When the server finally came she said my birthday dessert was coming. I asked her if we could get it to go. When I got home, there were three little unappetizing pieces of something in the box. I would go back. The food was good.

Overall a solid experience as Vintana always is. The pork chop was over cooked unfortunately but everything else was tasty.
Our waiter Anthony was very professional and new the menu very well. I was celebrating my birthday and enjoyed everything about my visit to your restaurant. We will be back for another wonderful dinner
Madison was our waitress, she was great and her timing superb. We eat here a lot.
Our amazing experience began at the bar with the bartenders. They set the stage for the overall experience. They suggested some great drinks and appetizers that we had never had. We shared some casual conversations they were very funny and energetic group of individuals. Our servers were amazing they made the dining experience a memorable one from the rose petals on the table to surprising us with a desert for two. This is our new favorite restaurant highly recommend….
We had such a wonderful dinner and experience at your restaurant. What we loved most was our waited Danny. He was so kind and friendly and knowledgeable, and just made the experience that much better .
We done out a lot in LA and wish we had a place like this near us . We will always be coming back when we visit San Diego !
It was our first time at Vintana. We decided to go there for New Year’s Eve. The service was outstanding from being greeted on our way in, to checking us in for our reservation, to be seated and served. Victor was our server. He was very attentive to our needs, provided excellent recommendations, and was just an overall kind and pleasant person. We’ll definitely return to Vintana.
That place is awesome.. expensive but they feed you a lot of food!!

What can I say? I love this dining experience so much that I am bummed they are closed until the 25th. I can't wait to take my Queen back. The ambience is absolutely astounding. My hat is off to whoever created those chandeliers. The view is magnifique. They even have a vegan option for me on the menu that is scrumptious. Plus of course everything on the menu for my girlfriend is Absolutely amazing. They have the best bread puffs in the world. The service is incredible. I love the circular booths so that my Queen and I can snuggle up next to each other. And they give the option for me to get flower petals put on the table, which I do every time, and it makes the other men with their dates give me dirty looks because they didn't think to do it.🤣 You have to experience this. And thank goodness because when you live near Escondido if you want a fine dining experience like this you have to drive to Del Mar or somewhere far away. It's so close I love it.

Anthony was great! His suggestion for wine pairing was great. It was the crisp wine that we were looking for. We started with half shell oysters and black mussels matched with white wine. My husband had the ribeye medium rare. It was served medium rare! My husband loves it. I had the pork chop and it was divine. The portions are huge! And we paired it with a glass of red wine. For dessert we had warm buttered cake. I love that they gave us the time to eat. We didnt feel rushed and pressured to be done so that other people can be seated. We ate and chit chat for 2.5 hrs and it was lovely experience.
We were sat near the window with the view of lexus cars. We did not regret having reservations! The line for walk-in was crazy. Even the bar was so full. But because of our reservation we just walked in no wait at all.
It was our first time here so it was helpful that there is a nice lady giving us directions for the parking area and location of the entrance of the restaurant.
Amazing dinner and server was attentive, kind and let us take out time. We really enjoyed our meal.
Food was surprisingly not great. Every element was average at best. Only positive comment from our table was a portion of the lobster was delicious. Not one bite of appetizers or meals were outstanding. Staff was fine.

Every single thing that we ordered was exceptionally delicious- lobster bisque, chorizo mussels, and poke sandwich. The service was perfect. It's also a beautiful restaurant.
Our server (Bron, I think?) was very pleasant and thorough. Gave us just the right amount of attention. We were all a bit full of rich foods after all the holiday celebration so we chose lighter dishes. My husband and I had the risotto which was excellent. One difference, mine had tomatoes in it and my husband's did not. Just a bit odd. My sister had the cauliflower bowl which was good but quite spicy. My mother, who is 101 and has a small appetite, opted for the side lobster mac and cheese and it was yummy! It was a big enough portion that she ended up taking some home. It's always a unique experience to be eating such a meal at a car dealership and looking over the lights on the freeway and Escondido.
