Booked Upland for Anniversary dinner and it didn't disappoint. Good pre dinner cocktails. We both had items from that day's specials list. The fluke that i had was fresh and creatively prepared on a bed of smashed peas...very light and fresh. I saw others having drinks and pizzas which looked amazing. I'd go back.
Food was amazing and the service was great!
Our experience at Upland was overall really great.
The coffee was delicious although there was some confusion with the server regarding refills.
The pizzas were great and very rustic with some creative combination of ingredients.
The omelette was a little lackluster but fine. The Spanish omelette was quite sizeable but came with nothing else, could make the overall omelette smaller and incorporate a simple salad to help cut through the hearty omelette.
Overall ambience and service was excellent.
I’ve never raved about a salad before but the baby gem salad with walnut vinaigrette was wonderful!!! I wish I had the recipe, craving it today. The donuts were a treat too.
Upland was really good. The service was great, it is in a large and vibrant space. Finally, the food was fantastic. Very fresh and imaginative with lots of flavor. We'll go back for sure!
A wonderful dining experience!
I've been here often, but this time things seemed off. The bacala had a large bone in it, over one inch long and also quite thick - not a pin bone. And the noise was worse than usual. Not at all what I expected from previous visits.
Superb. Some best in class dishes (duck wings, mushroom app, caccio e pepe) and incredible desserts. Knowledgeable and attentive service. Clean, inviting ambiance. Not cheap, but well worth the price. One of my favorites in the city.
Wonderful food and service!
Great food, attentive personable servers. A little noisy until the happy hour/post-work crowds disburse. Have eaten here twice and will return.
Excellent lunch, loved the skirt steak, the salads are very outstanding. The restaurant has a really nice vibe, casual, but clearly very nice. Perfect semi special occasion. I'll be back. Thank you.
My sisters and I were in New York for the weekend. Had brunch. The skirt steak was wonderful.
Overall disappointment. Although the bartenders were exceptional and the food is always good our server made this the most uncomfortable way to spend my birthday with friends. She was disinterested and walked away twice mid order making it uneasy and difficult for our party to determine what was ordered or not. Items that were ordered never showed at the table but since we were not charged we assumed our server neglected to enter the order we placed. I have enjoyed meals here in the past and hope this was a one off event. This was the most awkward experience I have ever had dining out I regret making the decision to spend my birthday at Upland.
Great mix from the bar but the real value is a staff that understands the Upland product and does an excellent job of sharing with their guests!
Food and sommelier were great...too bad the Maitre D and waitress were so rude they soured the experience.
This was my first experience at Upland, and it blew my socks off. What delicious, interesting preparations! The steak tartare first course was the best I have had anywhere. The breaded mushroom was spectacular, unlike anything I have ever had. The bucatini mid-course was delicious. And the smoked duck main course was the finest duck I have ever eaten. We cannot wait to go back. My new favorite restaurant in Manhattan.
Our waiter was a bit underwhelming. I've been here before where the service is just so divine, it's part of why I come back. Otherwise, so so so good.
Great food and atmosphere!
Great drinks, food and staff! If you want a culinary treat this is a must!
We had a reservation for brunch and were seated right away. Service was great. Food was very good but my Eggs Benedict were not even lukewarm.
Did not send back because I was so hungry.
Disappointing. Mushroom appetizer not what we expected. Entrees were good (lamb shoulder and skirt steak) but not exceptional. Service was superficial. Server asked if we liked our appetizers but dis not wait around for our answer.
The food and the service are always excellent
Ordered the Ora Salmon. They forgot the poached egg and the entire dish was over seasoned and salty. Being the most expensive dish on the brunch menu, was bit disappointing. Rare miss for otherwise a solid restaurant.
This was our 5th outing to Upland for a friends mid-week lunch. We now know the menu, wine list and favorite table. We also now now our favorite service person (not that any are subpar).
This visit, we ate our way thru the small plates which are all superb. But we always double up on the Duck Wings.....we think about slipping into the bar often just for those.
Not advertising our favorite two table numbers but suffice to say, every table is worth the food.
Fantastic food and service. Loved the ambiance which was comfortable chic in a contemporary and warm setting . A home run!
Another delicious dinner at Upland. We had salad, salmon and gnocchi— all generous portions which were well prepared and accompanied by fruit and vegetables. We went early so it was quiet but it gets noisy when room is busy. We shared the chocolate cake for dessert. Perfect!
Wonderful atmosphere and fantastic food - especially the Hen of the Woods mushroom, the duck wings, the skirt steak entree, the cioppino, and the cookie basket. Even the bread and butter was great! Highly recommend!!
Incredibly delicious food with great service. Nice wine list. The cioppino was awesome as was the Branzino, The Branzino could not have been prepared any better. Desserts were great also
The freshness of the food, the promptness of the service, the charm of the setting -- all these make Upland such a joy to visit.
Don't think this restaurant is worth the hype. Food is good but not worth the price ($21 for mushrooms and $16 for cookies is absurd). If you're looking to go for dinner, you should reserve many weeks in advance.
My second time there and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing, especially the pappardelle ragu! Service was excellent and I can’t wait to go back!
Warm and hospitable service, and the food was excellent, particularly enjoyed the beautifully composed salads
Upland never disappoints, one of my top three fav places to eat anywhere! You cant go wrong with just about anything.
Large portions. Friendly staff. Tasty ingredients
Creative dishes - fun bar schene
They had run out of the only fish entree on the menu at lunch. Pizza looked wonderful but had a strange seasoning. Salad was generous but over dressed. Overall food was disappointing
this is a upbeat restaurant with good food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will definitely come back to dine.
Thank you UPLAND! ALWAYS DELICIOUS WITH THE MOST AMAZING STAFF!!!!!
Rude Italian waitress, not accommodating to gluten free (myself) and vegetarian (friend) customers. She had an arrogant attitude and acted annoyed when we asked for options. She didn't make any suggestions other than "you can have an egg".
Food was average, cafeteria style, greasy, boring, and overpriced. I'd say: save your money and do not eat at this overhyped place, it's definitely not worth the wait!
Also: it's noisy and dark in the back so definitely not nice for brunch or lunch.
We went to Upland for my daughters birthday for brunch. She is a vegetarian and eats healthy. There was eggs any style on the menu. She asked for a egg white omelette and asked if they could make dry and add a few vegetables. The waiter said no. She needed up getting the omelette that was in the menu without cheese. It was covered in oil and a pound of salt in it. Living in nyc we never have been to a restaurant that would not make any alterations especially to a omelette. She didn’t touch her food which made everyone else upset. And ruined all our meals.
This is another big barn Park Ave South venue with food that is slightly above average for the genre. Don't let the hype fool you. The din is overwhelming, making it frequently easier to hear and understand a guy shouting at his dinner companions twenty feet away than the person sitting across from you. Out food arrived cold and was rather bizarrely seasoned. I had lamb shoulder with sprouted lentils, squash (or was it just tasteless sweet potato) and and avocado "pesto" which meant overly charred lamb in random bits in a gloppy, heavy blanket of all the other mushy ingredients, all with an off-balance sour tinge.
Service was characterized by undisguised disinterest. When I asked about nuts in the food I wanted to order, the server quickly said there were none, then when I pressed that "pesto" usually had some, she checked and indeed there were. Not a responsible attitude, given the prevalence of serious allergies. Basically, just a grim experience. No salient disasters, no joy.
