Be ready to be packed into a small table that is extremely close to the tables around u!!
Had the honey chicken fajitas for two and they were fabulous. Chicken very tender, bacon crisp, tortillas fresh, rice and beans tasty, and fajita garnishes plentiful. Will definitely return for the same dinner.
We are regulars at this restaurant as we live in Reston. We always have a tasty and pleasant dining experience here. The staff is hard working and attentive. The food is always plentiful and delicious. We began with the tableside guacamole (a real treat), followed by the fish soft taco plate and the crispy taco plate. Because we took some food home, we managed to squeeze in room for the wonderful flan for dessert. We remain impressed at the thoroughness of the customer service despite of the crowds and the sometimes- hectic atmosphere. We will continue to both dine here ourselves and to bring visiting guests. Keep up the good work!
Very noisy restaurant - could not hear people sitting next to me. Mojito was delicious! Food was tasty. We got the guacamole and asked for no jalapenos but the lady making it did not hear us and put them in. Our server, Robin, was very good and around often and always checked up on us. We made reservations and were seated almost as soon as we got in.
Very cramped. Server making specialty drinks stood right in front of our table for half the meal making drinks. Other Julio’s in the area seem to offer better service and ambiance.
Server was friendly and attentive. Food was great. Definitely a place to go back to.
Delicious food and impeccable service. Second time there and going to go back!
The food wasn't great at this particular
In the past we had always enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. Unfortunately the experience during the latest visit was terrible. We did not enjoy the food. Also had to wait nearly 30 minutes to get the check. We have decided not to go this restaurant anymore.
Our waiter was fabulous! Food was fantastic as always!
This is one of our go-to places in Reston. The tableside-prepared guacamole is always a treat! This place is very family-friendly with a high-energy vibe. They always serve hefty & very tasty portions. (You will always have extra to take home after eating here!) Wife had the taco salad and I had Juanita's platter. Our server was very attentive & friendly, but on this night, the pacing was bit too fast. Our entrees came before we had finished even half of our appetizers. However, this may have occurred because the place was so crowded. Definitely recommended!
Wonderful place to be
Food was Great! service was FANTASTIC! Drinks were superb!
On a busy Saturday evening, I made a reservation for 6:45. Arriving on time, I was told our table was “being cleared” and it would be “just a moment.” After fifteen minutes waiting and getting jostled about in the bar/waiting area, I enquired again as to the status of our table. The poor inexperienced greeter only had one reply in her repertoire, that our table was “still being cleared.” Seated after a twenty-eight minute wait. All else was satisfactory. Bottom line to restaurant: if you offer reservation services to diners, be prepared to hold up your end of the deal.
Went there for a birthday occasion and had a great time. A timely birthday offer of a free dessert pinata came just in time to take advantage of. Everybody loved it! It was foodertainment! The service was great and the food as always was excellent! We don't eat out much, but Julios is one of our definite go-tos!
When we arrived for our reservation they were a bit backed up but I heard the manager say something to the effect of “seat the people with reservations first” which makes sense and we were quickly seated. The food is always cooked the exact same every time: perfect. During the meal there’s always someone that says “I’m so glad we picked this place”. My only regret is always eating too many of their chips and salsa ahead of the meal! We got the piñata dessert too!
Good service. Nice server. Good food. Definitely way much better than the one in One Loudoun , Ashburn.
Really good service! Food comes fast!
Great food and service. Loved, loved, loved the chocolate piñata filled with fruit and churros. Overall, was a delicious and festive meal.
Slow at the restaurant today; it is usually NOT a quiet experience but it was appreciated!
My group enjoyed dinner and spending time together we were the last guests to leave. Thanks for accommodating us.
Excellent service combined with great food and a lovely ambiance make this a “must” in Reston. The appetizers are fantastic such as the Guacamole (which is loaded with avocados...as it should be!) and the cheesy Queso that goes great with their endless chips and salsa. You can never go wrong with steak and chicken fajitas or their stacked enchiladas for an entree. Kids will enjoy seeing the tortillas being made right in front of them. Adults will enjoy their fun drink mixes and the lively bar scene. Don’t miss Uncle Julio’s on your next trip!
The vegetable fajitas were fabulous! Comes with cilantro rice and black beans.
We did wait 20 minutes for our open table reservation.
Everything was good except they forgot that was my daughters birthday.
Food was average. Needs more consistently.
Delicious food. The tacos are treat to your taste buds
We like Uncle Julio's, but had not been in a while because of the long lines (no reservations taken). We were excited to see that they were now on Open Table. So, we tried it out. Upon arriving at 6:40 for our 6:45 reservation, we were given a pager and told that we would be a 30 - 40 min wait! I learned that they were letting walk-ins in front of us too. I had to talk to the manager to get this fixed - which she ultimately did (without apologizing). She just explained that things were busy and that's how it is. Really? What good is a reservation if you still have a wait? We finally got seated and the food was good. ...but it's going to be a while before we go back.
We were a party of 5. Made a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. It was awesome. Service was great. Food, plentiful and delicious. Drinks just right. Noise level is very high, so casual conversation is difficult.
Food was great. Really slow service even though we were a party of two with a reservation
Excellent food and service. Loud, so don't expect to engage in much conversation. Still excellent, would happily return again...and again. Convenient parking nearby.
We celebrated a team members birthday at Uncle Julio's. It was my first time there - but I had been advised the food was great - portions huge - and there is a chocolate pinata for desert! The quality of the traditional Mexican food was "great" as promised - though two people ordered salads and found there to be a lot of lettuce - but not much else - just 4 shrimp, slivers of jicama and avacado ... they left hungry. The lunch portions did not quite live up to the expectation of 'huge' - and we would have ordered more appetizers if we had realized this. The table for 6 was 'intimate' and would have been more comfortable if it was a little bigger - there was not much room for all the plates. The desert was 'off the charts' fun and delicious ... so it was worth the trip ... I'd definately go back.
I love coming to Uncle Julio’s, but yesterday dining was beyond horrible. We were sitting outdoor, our server maybe came to our table 3 times during the entire time we were there. We got the table side guacamole, and literally waiting 15 minutes for someone to bring us extra chips. When our Fajitas came, it was wrong. They had to take it back and bring the right one. The table infront of us came before us and waiting longer for their main course to come out (and it was wrong too). I was so surprised by the service we got. Usually Uncle Julio has great service, but yesterday was a complete and utter disaster.
To be fair - this is my opinion only. The reception and seating were great. We waited over 30 minutes and were done with our appetizer - the margarita's hadn't come. I gave up and got them myself - went to the bar and ordered, waited and took back to the table. We had to ask over 4 times for napkins. The margarita's and the food are marginal compared to other places nearby. Solutions to the restaurant? Step it up. The waiter was obviously overwhelmed (either new or untrained - he was very nice) - management should have been on the floor watching the outdoor and indoor dining room... you weren't that busy. The bartender was very quick and awesome once I asked her for our drinks and told her what happened - but she should have taken it a step further and told the manager - and the manager should have come to our table to address it / follow up. You guys are a chain now - you need to get back to the basics, pay attention to the details (like food and drink QUALITY) - and you need to make sure that there is at least one manager on duty who is "on it" and cares. I wouldn't come back - I would go to one of the other places on the block...
Food quality isn't what it used to be
Service and quality continue to head down with every visit. Been coming here since the day it opened. Not sure if we'll ever go back. Salsa looked and tasted like it was watered down. Service was harried and as usual for the last few visits, appetizer arrives 90 seconds before dinner. Undercooked fajita steak. Why?
Loved everything as usual, but I ordered the Juanita's platter and they changed the sauce on the beef enchilada and the tamale. They used to use their chile con carne on both but now the enchilada has some sticky cheese sauce and the pork tamale had a rancheros sauce. Bring back the original sauces or made them optional please!
WE have been going too uncle julios since opened in Reston--it has been the one constant place we go over 25 years--always good food.
Great service, pretty good price. Great food. We will be back.
