Walked right to Our table as soon as we walked in the door. Was greeted immediately and the food was amazing.
The calamari was ok, not outstanding, and the creole gumbo was less than mediocre...too thin and not enough rice.
Over the past few years it has had ups and downs with food and service so I stopped going. But now, have been twice in the last month and both times it was absolutely excellent in every way. Can't wait to go back!
Always a great meal here! Drinks and food are very good!!
Another wonderful meal at West End. In fact, it was even better than last time. We cannot wait to come back!
Experience was excellent except for pork chop dinner. It was not edible. The chop was thin, dry, with more than half of it grizzle. We did not complain because we were with friends we hadn’t seen in forever and did not want to spoil our fun of dining in for the first time in over a year. Other than the quality of that entree, it was a great evening.
Reservations - very easy to make
Service - Excellent
Food - a new chef, from New Orleans, putting a lot of Louisiana food into the menu.
Management - very good checked on our experience and food satisfaction.
A very good experience, especially when so many other restaurants are cutting quality of ingredients and service.
Thanks for the great service, food could have been better. The gumbo recipe needs to be reworked.
This is a quaint, beautiful restaurant in a idyllic setting. The food was great , service was wonderful. Realy nice, unique spot
Food was excellent and our server, Dominique, was fantastic!
Good food and atmosphere
Safe, covered outdoor dining. Great service and ambiance!
Great drinks. Steak was good.
We went on a Sunday night. While it was closer to closing, the ambiance was terrific! Shared the Mussels (excellent), Deviled Eggs (classic), Seared Scallops with Risotto (perfectly seared and the risotto was creamy and delicious) and the Crabcakes (the remoulade was great...definitely wanted more). Service was smooth, pacing was on point, and the value matched the overall experience.
Beautiful spot, great food. Good service. We will visit again!
Celebration of our 25th anniversary of our engagement. The food was delicious. The decor and ambiance was fantastic! Service was impeccable.
Jim always greets us and starts us off with the Bourbon du jour - Rabbit Hole this time, Lachlan serves and I opt for the risotto special with local mushrooms. Dining companion went for the poisson especial. A wonderful Rockfish prepared expertly by Jeremy. As always, West End never disappoints and we enjoy every dinner like it was a special occasion.
The rockfish entree was excellent! Lots of different flavors and textures.
We love West End and knew this is where we wanted to experience our first night out to dinner in a very long time. We had been ordering their food to go during the pandemic; however, it was great to be able to go to one of our favorite places in person!!
Very welcoming, friendly, and respectful of our space and COVID protocols. Food was delicious. Comp’d a dessert for my birthday, which was nice. We will be back next vacation to check out the pub and patio areas!
What an amazing establishment in Purceville ! From the moment you walked in till the time you left you are treated to a great experience. Tables were adequately spaced out, the place was clean, hand sanitizer in several locations, an upstairs eating area and outdoor patio. The staff was very friendly. The food was amazing and wonderful flavors. After celebrating two birthdays we went around the building to the quaint pub. On one side should had some tables and tv with the other side a sitting area- the bar was in between It was a delightful evening 🍀
Our second dinner at West End was even better than first experience. This is a lovely place with wonderful food and by size of the crowd there on a week night, it appears we're not the only ones who noticed. An old house beautifully renovated into a restaurant with a cozy, welcoming ambiance. Nice menu selections make it difficult to decide what to order. Everything we've tried from steak to fish to various starters have all been well prepared and delicious. Worth the drive from Ashburn and we'll be back for more!
We had a great evening-food and service were wonderful.
Waited 20 minutes at table before anyone even brought menus. Sat by an exit door- Employees kept coming and going leaving the door open so that cold air would enter. Food service was extremely slow- took our main course order after the appetizer was eaten and plate was cleared (we had to ask for someone to take order even at that time). Appetizer (fried calamari) was very good. Nothing else was appetizing at all- of course no one asked how the entrees were.
Medium rare burger was hammered, came with the aioli that I asked to be excluded, and fries (everyone’s) were too salty to eat ... which is saying something from this fiend. Someone set to take over the kitchen asked for feedback and I politely mentioned that everyone had a problem with over seasoned food. He blamed it on his sister (classy), because “she’s a vegetarian.” Not sure what that was about but chalk it up to youthful indiscretion. Restaurant is not cheap—burger was $20 ... not cooked to order nor cooked properly. Epic fail in my book.
Nice, quiet atmosphere and excellent food.
Food and service is always wonderful ! Jim is the best! We love our date nights at west End!
The last time we ate here, before the pandemic, the menu was very elaborate, the chef trying to be different. This time the menu was much more standard and better for the change. The food was good but not outstanding. It was nice to see the restaurant busy and we hope the trend continues. We'll be back.
We love West End and even more now that they have opened up their upstairs to accomodate Covid guidelines. We loved the upstairs space which gave our pod a perfect place to get out of the house and enjoy great food, great service and good times! As always, Jim (the manager) was a gem and we highly recommend this dining experience.
Top notch. Venison ravioli paired the Chenin was memorable. Dominic, Jim and Tori provided unparalleled service- love the overall vibe of West End.
We enjoyed our first visit to The West End Wine Bar and look forward to returning.
Waiter recommended the crab cake sandwich. Their special sauce on them was awful to me. Literally had 2 bites, explained it to the waiter...not another thing said by him, owner, chef...no one. Credit on the check or offer a different choice. The other dish (blackened chicken pasta) was good. Calamari was average. For the price, you expect a bit more from the staff than "I'll pass it along". To many other spots where quality and service far out performs this place. First and last time there.
Our first visit and it was excellent! Food and drinks were awesome and will definitely be back for more.
It was a very nice experience overall! We would definitely go again.
Short Ribs and mussels were excellent along with the service!
Relaxed brunch. Great food.
Food is always great. Service is fantastic. Wine options are very good.
Great food! Great cocktails! The wait staff was attentive and helpful. Awesome meal!
Wonderful Christmas Eve dinner with friends
