The West End Wine Bar & Pub
Lovely interior. Tables spaced out nicely. Could easily carry on a conversation. Service was timely and pleasant. The downsides: there were no chicken entrees available on the menu other than a chicken sandwich or adding grilled chicken to a salad. The green beans and duck fries were the best part of the meal. My husband ordered the strip steak which consisted of large portions of fat and was overcooked. I ordered the sirloin which was undercooked. We just ended up swapping rather than waiting for refiring or replacing. Both steaks were oddly dry-tasting, though ... kind of sawdusty. All-in-all, we didn’t leave with a feeling that our dinners were worth the price.
Consistently excellent food and service. The mushroom risotto was a standout!
As always, the food and service, at West End, was top notch. Started with the West End salad. I recommend this salad to all. The greens, salad dressing, etc. are great. But, their deviled eggs (included with the salad) are the best. Main course was the halibut, served over kale and creamed spinach; also excellent. Topped everything off with very good coffee, and their always super chocolate sundae. This restaurant, on the western end of Purcellville is a must for all who enjoy fine dining.
Another fabulous evening on the patio at West End. With the heater, it was a perfect place to watch the fall sunset. Delicious food (burger and duck fries for me and scallops for my friend). Good wine recommendations and attentive but not intrusive service.
Great overall experience from food to service. Our third or fourth time there and we look forward to returning.
Stopped by for dinner after a beautiful day driving through wine country- wanted to have a great dinner outside- had halibut and crabcakes, bottle of wine- all were excellent-will be back soon.
We celebrated my birthday here and I couldn't have been more passed. The ambiance on the patio was beautiful with nice live music. The service and good were terrific. This is one of my new favorite restaurants.
Overall great service. The food was not up to its usual high standards this time. The roasted pepper goat cheese dip was over soaked in a tomato soup (tasted like Campbell's) that was just too much. The chicken pasta primavera was rather bland (though in all fairness, we did order it without mushrooms).
We will be back and hope it was just an off night for food prep.
We greatly enjoyed the outside with the live guitar player/singer. Alas, not too many such nights left this season.
The food is great, the service exceptional and the price is very fair. One note of caution, if you plan to sit inside, I advise you to sit away from the door leading to the patio.
Always special and enjoyable. Great food, outstanding service, cosy inside and on good days can't beat terrace. Highly recommend.
Food was excellent. I was surprised that we were offered no bread or a salad or something to accompany our meal. Restaurant is nice, main meal was great, just need some tweeking
Great atmosphere great food great time!
Had a drink down in the pub first which is very cozy. Dinner upstairs was outstanding! We will definitely go back.
Our first time here. The meal and service was very good. The steaks were tender and cooked to the perfect temperature. The Drunken mussels were outstanding as well! Well worth the trip to this out of the way gem....
So happy I found this place while being out in Purcellville for the day. My husband and I got to enjoy the nice weather by sitting on their front porch with a glass of wine before dinner. For dinner, we started with the crab rangoon which was great and even came with fresh lump crab meat on the side. My husband loved his steak and I absolutely loved my dish which was the special of the night. Roasted Char fish with basmati risotto and roasted squash. Everything was seasoned perfectly which is hard to come by these days with so many restaurants pouring salt on their dishes. Had such a great time and can’t wait to return to try some dessert!
I love West End. Have been going to West End since they opened.
Take time to go.
Service excellent! Food was good!
Pricey!! We just had sandwiches!
Fantastic food and service! We will definitely be back again soon!
Great place as always for date night. Good blend of fine dining but casual atmosphere.
Food is pretty good, not quite fine dining but very good for the area. Chef a bit heavy handed with the salt, would ask for less next time. Calamari and Steak were excellent, crab cakes had too much breadcrumb mixed in. Wine list is very good and prices are reasonable. Service as good as anywhere.
We have been here a handful of times and this is the first time I have had poor service. We waited about 15 minutes after we were seated then someone in our party got up and asked if someone was going to take our drink orders. Someone did finally come and they did apologize and gave us a free round. However, it wasn't busy so no real excuse. We all had the scallops and they came out luke warm, just wasn't a great evening for the restaurant in our opinion. They have been great in the past, hope this isn't their new normal.
Another wonderful brunch at The West End Wine Bar & Pub. Enjoyed a beautiful summer day eating our excellent meals on the terrace. Great food, super wine selections by glass or bottle, wonderful staff. A favorite.
Perfect dining experience for an evening out to dinner with friends. Excellent food and extensive wine list. The service was great. Perfect combination of excellent food in a friendly, warm environment. This wasn't our first visit and won't be our last! Thank you, West End!
West End Wine Bar was a wonderful surprise!! Delicious food, lovely atmosphere in the dining room, and friendly and efficient service. We are from Maryland, so we have a pretty high bar for crab cakes... WEWB’s crab cakes are packed full of back-fin meat and taste great. There’s no other way to put it!! We had the smoked burrata caprese salad - the tomato’s were so flavorful. Of course, we couldn’t leave without dessert, lavender and honey creme brûlée - oh so decadent! We visit LoCo a lot - we will definitely return to WEWB.
Fabulous Sunday Brunch! Our only problem, selecting our order from the menu because we wanted everything. We will definitely return!
This was our first time there and we went with another couple who had been there before. All four of us were very pleased with West End in all respects.
Food was awesome, smaller environment which makes for a more intermit service which I like. Check the downstairs bar, very friendly and cool place to hang out.
we celebrated our 51st. wedding anniversary at this restaurant and had a terrific meal with exceptional service from the entire staff. We were complimented by all for celebrating our event at their establishment and were given a complimentary desert to take home. A wonderful venue in a very beautiful location.
We had a very pleasant experience at The West End Wine Bar & Pub. We took friends who had never dined at the West End and they loved it.
Excellent all around. Phenomenal Chef! My favorite restaurant and close to lots of fun activities.
Hubby had shrimp and I had halibut. The halibut could use more flavor. The shrimp was delicious. I forgot to ask if the fish was wild caught or farmed. They need to add that important piece of info to the menu for seafood. They could use some fans outside. Great service. Our server was fantastic.
Great ambiance. Good food. Menu could have been a little more creative.
Waitress knew nothing about the menu, never told us the specials and never brought bread. We had to bring the manager into the situation
What a great find! Service was excellent, food delicious.
We have been to West End several times over the past year and this time, we were relatively underwhelmed. We made reservations, and despite the restaurant being relatively empty, were sat right next to a larger party resulting in a less ideal dining environment. It was hard to pick something from the new menu that sounded appealing, and the food was really so-so. The icing on the cake is the new manager spent at least 10 minutes socializing and catching up on personal stories to yet an other larger party that they sat on the other side of us, while we waited a lengthy bit for our cocktail refills and had to listen to their rather loud conversation.
Overall, for the price of the menu, not worthwhile. Check out The Wine Kitchen or Market Table Bistro for better experiences, menus and service.
Overall just fantastic! Service was superb and the food was wonderful. I highly recommend!
Wonderful atmosphere and great food. This could become our "regular " place.
We sat out on your beautiful patio for an early dinner, then went into the pub for your version of an Irish Coffee. The food and service was great. Fantastic experience all around!
Already did. The Halibut with the Risotto was delicious! Please continue to have fish on your menu.
Lower than usually good service. Normally sit on the patio. Main dining room is a little noisy for us.
Went there for our Anniversary. Ate on the patio with a wonderful guitar player playing and singing in the background. The food was great. My only complainant is the waitress took my wife's fork after the the appetizer and did not bring a new one, then disappeared and we had to go inside and get our own. Over all it was a wonderful experience.
