Consistently good. Came here for a pre-theatre meal - chose from the special pre-theatre menu - nice selection. Good quality food. Excellent service.

We came back to the Vintner for a specific anniversary celebration. We were made to feel very special and welcome and the service from Beth was enthusiastically infectious. She was the perfect waitress! The food was superb. Each course (we had three) was excellently presented, delicious and the portion size was perfect. Neither of us left feeling uncomfortable or bloated. The atmosphere in the Vintner was lovely. The music was not too loud, the level of chatter was manageable and the attention and care from Beth was at just the right level. It is clearly a popular place to eat and drink in Stratford and I can understand why. Booking is essential. This place is highly recommended.

Pre theatre meal - we only managed a main course and shared dessert but the lamb shank was melt in your mouth good, and the chocolate mousse cake divine. Our waitress was fabulous - attentive but didn’t rush us in the slightest. Big recommend.

What a shame they allow dogs in a restaurant with such excellent cooking. We had booked a restaurant table for 2 pre-theatre. Arrived to be given a table in the bar, right next to several large and scary dogs. I said I was afraid of all dogs and could they re-seat us please. ‘No’ they said. Yes OK, we could have walked out but it’s not easy to find a supper table before curtain-up at the RSC. Their cooking is lovely by the way, but I shouldn’t have to eat with dirty animals underfoot. It’s not a country pub!!

Our lunch here was so good we had to book to come back the next day! In fairness we’ve been visiting for over ten years on our trips up and down the country. Always excellent, and always worth a detour!

We have been going to the vintner for years and always has been excellent but on this occasion was very disappointed.
