First trip to NYC . We ate breakfast/brunch . Food was delicious. Waitress was super nice and friendly.
Breakfast at The Smith is always a treat! I’ve atmosphere is cozy and very New York! Food is always good there. It’s a perfect place for a pre-theatre at Lincoln Center on a weekend.
Always tasty and reliable. Good choice for Lincoln Center events. A bit frantic, but no worries about making it to a performance on time unlike some other places in the area when we have had to scramble after too leisurely service.
Great dining experience. There for lunch. Highly recommend the avocado toast! Excellent service.
Always a reliable choice! Definitely always crowded. Their burger is a must!
I really enjoyed the food and the service. I have been before.
Food was good, service was average but the hustle and bustle and noise level was too much.
Waitress was very attentive. Ordered hamburger rare it was cooked medium but was moist and full of flavor. Excellent french fries ... more than one person can devour!! Busy dinner hour and food arrived quickly after ordered. Very noisy but was able to hear my dinner companion.
Good neighborhood place for the usual big place food - nothing fancy - the place is very, very noisy and hard to have a conversation. Everyone is screaming to be heard. If spite of that everyone is having a good time.
So convenient to Lincoln Center. Delicious food, huge portions. Best chicken pot pie I've ever had. There were 6 of us and we all had something different and everyone's was fabulous. The desserts are to die for. Very good service.
I suppose given the limited number of places around Lincoln center that this is "passable" in a pinch. But it's so crowded and noisy and middle of the road that if it wasn't in a vital geographic location, it would not be the juggernaut it is
Excellent meal. We love coming here for faves like the chicken pot pie and the potato chips. The secret, however, is that it's just one or two of you, sit at the bar and eat -- the bartenders are stellar and you meet the most interesting people.
Good food, great service, wonderful location for pre- or post-Met meal.
Awesome place, there is something for everyone! We are vegetarian and we love it, I go there all the time, it's never too busy and it is friendly to everyone.
The food was very tasty. Generous portions. Perhaps a little too much salt and spice.
The service was excellent, accommodating my special dietary needs by immediately checking with the chef and confirming back in two minutes.
A little loud with a full dining room, congenial middle aged clientele, will certainly consider returning.
I'm glad it's there. Needed a quick casual bite before a show. Fast service, decent food. Server was very nice & made sure we had time to eat.
My daughter and I had supper before a performance at Lincoln Center. The Smith is noisy and bustling in a delightfully New York sort of way. Restaurants in Manhattan can be cramped but this was quite comfortable. The food was outstanding. I had The Smith Eggs Benedict... it was fabulous! My daughter loved her chicken sandwich, and we both loved the cinnamon toffee brioche and a glass of Prosecco. I recommend The Smith!
It was great and the food was delicious! They never rushed us even though it was super busy
The service and food at The Smith is good value and consistent. I appreciate their flexibility and friendliness, particularly with larger groups. It is a great place for early brunch as well as a late night dinner. My favorite dishes are Sicilian baked eggs, the burrata with roasted tomatoes, the French fries... great place to bring friends.
Good food, server very knowledgeable about gluten free.
Great food served professionally cooked perfect in a very present surrounding would revisit definitely
Modern place, a bit more noisy than I'd like but not too bad. There was a mix-up with our reservation and the table wasn't ready for 15 min. This was a bit of a problem for us as we had the opera tickets but they made an effort to get our food ready in time. Tuna tartar was creative and very good, the sea bass and salmon were delicious and cooked just right. Will visit again
our waitress was exceptional - extremely helpful, particularly with offering alternatives for our friend who is vegan. We had a small table and broke a glass accidentally and it was all cleaned up without any fuss. They put a candle in our dessert for our friends birthday. We were dining pre theatre and had a few screaming children initially but they soon left or stopped screaming and the noise level was bearable. Were given a booth which was much better than being out in the crowd in my opinion. Champagne and prosecco were good, short ribs (special on Sat nights) was particularly delicious and flavorful, as were the fish apparently. A great experience pre Lincoln Center on a busy Sat night.
Even packed to the rafters on a busy Saturday night, the Smith did a great job with food and service. A few slight slips – a delay with a second glass of wine etc – were totally understandable considering how packed the place was. We'll definitely be back.
Reservations appear to be mere suggestions at the Smith—this was the second time we showed up exactly on time for our reservation, but had to wait 25 minutes for our table. Simply ridiculous, and the hosts act like it’s not their problem...
Beccie went out of her way to rescue my sister and me from the front door crowd. She saw my sis was in a wheelchair and she got us to a safe area and quickly to suitable table. Don’t worry we didn’t advance in line, we had reservations.
THANK YOu for hiring such an attentive staff.
Very fast service. Great if you are havng a meal prior to attending a show at Lincoln Center.
Saturday brunch. The restaurant was very crowded, we were packed in like sardines, and it was very loud. Food arrived luke-warm at best. The service was great though, from the hostess to the bus boys to our waiter--all perfect.
We had brunch on Saturday at the Lincoln Square location. Despite the fact that the place was packed, food was delicious . Great drink selection. Service was excellent and personable and even with the hoards of people at the door trying to get a table we did not feel rushed. Reservations recommended!
as usual, great service and tasty food. Our go to weekend spot for brunch. Made reservations for 10:45am and even though we were 15 mins late, we were seated right away. Had the steak and eggs and daughter had the waffles. Both delicious.
It was a good experience because our waitress was amazing. The food was pretty good, but it’s definitely on the pricey side for what you get. The flavors were great though and overall everyone enjoyed their food. It’s much bigger than we thought too. If you are looking for a 2 - $ place... it fits the bill, and nice that it’s right next to Central Park.
The only restaurant I’m not afraid to try something new. Managers-Monica and Becky are amazing. The wait staff are consistently moving with smiles on their faces through the hustle and bustle. Food is always great and quickly served. I love The Smith.
Favorite spot in the City. A visit is not complete without dinner at The Smith. Don’t skip the photo booth downstairs!!
The waitress wasn’t very attentive, but I love coming to this place! Usually service is awesome.
Order simple salads that had an odd flavor spice. Ordered glass of wine that was bad.
Service was wonderful but environment
was extremely loud couldn't hear conversations across the table.
My friend and I had an enjoyable lunch after attending the NY Philharmonic. Our wait staff was very friendly and attentive.
Would not come to this restaurant if it weren’t across the street from Lincoln Center. Convenient for pre-theatre dining. Food very average for price & NYC. Tomato soup however was fabulous.
I come here quite often for business meetings in the northern part of the city. Food, service are always great, sometimes can get too noisy but overall love this place.
We were seated right away, and the hostess was accommodating when we requested a booth. The ambience was upbeat, and the servers were all friendly. Our server was happy to answer questions and was accessible when we were ready to leave. The menu offers a great variety of foods at reasonable prices. The food is flavorful, and the portions are generous. No complaints!
