The Smith- Lincoln Square
Gracious and fine waitstaff but the sound level at all of your restaurants is ridiculous. We ate outside -- that was the only thing that saved us. I think your prices are quite high, and although the food was good, not worth that much money.
Good breakfast, great location/vibe.
Expensive! Had a tasty tuna tartar, chicken Caesar salad, and a drink. My boyfriend had a drink and the quinoa & kale salad with chicken. $100 for two people. Pretty outrageous. Not worth it.
Perfect in every way!
Favorite neighborhood spot with a great menu. Corn empanadas and spicy salmon rice cakes are outstanding!
Noise level unbearable do not recommend to anyone will never go back
Food and service were terrific, but be aware that this is a LOUD environment, so it's not really conducive to much conversation.
Excellent food and service, but noise level is high.
you just cant go wrong at The Smith. Sat at the bar. Service is great.
Salty. Nice place, tons of energy and well prepared food. However every dish was extremely salty.
It was a true NYC experience. We ate a delicious dinner outside, on a beautiful Saturday night. The staff was friendly and attentive.
I’ve eaten at the Smith - Lincoln Ctr many times and usually it’s better. But this time was a big disappointment. First, they dropped the option of a small portion of the gnocchi and only offer the very big (and more expensive) size that is always more than I want, so I waste the remainder.
Secondly, this evening my gnocchi was burned (solid black) on the bottom. But the cook cleverly rolled each gnocchi over so it was not visible at first glance. When I noticed it and pointed it out to the server, he took it back to the kitchen and I had to wait for it to be redone. No apologies for the wait, or for the fact that my food was served burned (black in the bottom) the first time. He only acknowledged it and left me to wait while my friend then waited (as her dinner cooled) until I was re-served.
I’ll think twice before suggesting this restaurant to a friend again when we choose to meet over a meal.
It was a great experience. Good food, service, vibe, and portions were great.
Great staff, very attentive. Food is great and you can tell the quality is scrutinized. This place is our go to for sure.
Food was a little pricey for what you get, but still good. Unfortunately they try to jam as many tables as possible into the restaurant, to the point that the waitress had to consistently move tables just so that people could squeeze by into their seats. Perhaps taking one table out of the row so everyone can not sit on their neighbors, laps is worth considering.
I’ve been there literally dozens of times. The food is very good and priced fairly. The noise level is oppressive. The noise level in the back room is super duper oppressive. Why do I continue to go there? My kids love it (adult kids). It’s louder than a rock band concert.
Our waiter Moo was great!
A nice experience with good service and good food. It is a bit noisy inside due to All hard surfaces. If you want a quieter seat outside would be suggested.
Always good! We go here often. Great salads and burgers!
Disappointing after show experience. Calamari tough, sauce over spiced, flatbread blah, service blah no bad just not good. HAve been there in the past- much better experience- should be better for the location.
Great location. Big place! Reasonable menu. And our server was great!
The food was excellent! I had the salmon and my husband had their specialty burger. But the volume of the noise level, made it very hard to have a conversation.
Delicious burgers, good service BUT I will NOT be returning because the noise level is so insane that I could hardly hear my friend across our small table AND a table next to us included several men who were shrieking so loudly that it became necessary to put my hands over my ears ! We called over a waiter and asked him to ask the men to lower their voices but the waiter refused to do so saying “ I am not going to interfere with their fun” ! When I asked “what about our fun, we can’t even be heard at our own table” he shrugged his shoulders and walked away !!! The Smith is without question the loudest restaurant I have ever dined in period ! I wonder how the chef feels about guests who won’t return to dine there only because of the insane level of noise permitted ?
The service is outstanding!!
Food was delicious. The day we went the air conditioning wasn’t working in the front room, we sat in the back. I’d definitely go back again. Great location.
The outsude needs a really good cleaning. Smells dirty.
Super lekker en heel vriendelijk, leuke menukaart. Wel zeer veel lawaai, slechte akoestiek.
The Smith is always a great meeting spot. Food prices are high but the staff is always friendly and attentive.
Great location, wonderful evening! Service was good and friendly. Tried some new foods at servers suggestion.
It used to be my favorite place for steak. The quality has gone down, as portion sizes.
It was outstanding!
Reservations highly recommended, basically required. Love the food. Love the ambience. Our table was seated in a room in the back which I didn't even know existed, and it was quite loud back there. Service was OK, but not exceptional.
The Smith's used to be one of my favorite spots. But the bread served was stale, service was slow and the food was just ok this time
One of the best places for breakfast/brunch in the city. Huge outdoor seating with direct sun light (not common in the city). Best Boody Mary you will find!
Perfectly lovely pre-theatre dining! Enjoyed our meals - chicken paillard salad and squid ink spaghetti with seafood - both were very good and wait staff superb!
Had a great table outside where we enjoyed the kale quinoa salad with chicken (better than the kale chicken salad at Hillstone), the breakfast pot pie and my 4.5 year old destroyed the BLT+E. Wonderful staff (seated us 15 min before our reservation), quick service and the food has improved greatly. Will be back soon.
I love The Smith. The food is consistently good to very good, and since it's a large space, they can usually accommodate last minute reservations. Walk-ins are a little trickier at busy times. Service is generally very good, but this time was a bit unfriendly. It happens. Hopefully, won't have the same server next time. In general, the service is efficient and friendly.
There was a strong draft where I was sitting diagonal from the entrance door on a cold and windy day. Every time the door opens and closed, which was very frequent. I also can't hear my son talk. The place is extremely noisy. Never going back and will not recommend.
The restaurant is way too noisy to hear the person across the tiny table. The house Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are terrible. I will not go there again.
Weekend get away
