The Melting Pot - Arlington VA
Cheese Absolutely delicious! Meat Absolutely delicious! Chocolate Absolutely delicious!
The food was good and the service was excellent! I understand that this is a restaurant filled with hot pots and plates on every table, but if it is possible to turn the AC on blast it would make the experience perfect!
Dress lightly if you’re warm natured.
Had a great time at dinner! This place is always a hit with my friends. It was my friends birthday and he had a great time. Service is always great as well.
Going on Mother's Day means that it's a busy destination, and at 7:00 PM, the staff is tired, cheerful, but tired, so not as attentive as normal. The food, however, was good, as always, and we all had a nice time. It's a unique menu, and the casual pace of drinks, then cheese fondue, then salad, then main course, and then dessert fondue means lots of family time, talk, and laughs.
Only thing I would say is we got there for our reservation time but had to wait about 10 minutes before we were able to be seated because they didn’t have any open tables. It was not crowded at that time and many tables were open. Very confused. Also was very hard to find waiter after ordering.
Great overall experience. Waiter was great with our kids and in helping us with kid friendly options.
Much too expensive for mediocre quality meats and fish. Most items were overly salty, including the sauces.
I like fondue, as it gives me 3 hours with my teenage grandson; a fun way to catch up. He like the food better than I
Last Wednesday 5/8 was my first time at the Melting Pot. We went for my GF's birthday. The food was great, and the restaurant was quiet. The manager seated us and was very nice. Our waiter was very helpful at the start of the meal and recommended various items for cheese, salad & entrees as I had never been before and my GF had only been twice.
Once the entrees came, my GF ordered another drink, and our waiter told us he would be back shortly. However, we did not see our waiter again for nearly an hour. We each finished our water, and our waiter never returned to fill up our water back up.
We then finished our entrees and simply waited there until our waiter finally returned for the dessert course. We had already finished the entrees (as nearly an hour had past), so there was no need for him to bring the sauces that were supposed to accompany the entrees that he had not brought us. However, we asked the waiter for my GF's drink, and he finally brought it. No apologies, no explanation, no anything. Just placed the drink on the table and walked away again. It then took another 20 min or so for our dessert course to be brought out.
We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30, and did not leave until after 9:30. I paid $150 for the two of us, and we didn't get the sauces that came with the entrees, received very poor service, never got a water re-fill, waited an hour for a drink to finally be delivered, and received no apology from our waiter. The food was great, but how a waiter can simply not stop back by his table after he delivers the entrees, and after an hour passes, is absolutely beyond me.
Fresh, healthy eats that can be tailored to work for a variety of dietary needs.
Great as usual!
We were a group of 5 celebrating the graduation of my son from college. The Melting Pot made this special occasion even more special with the fun of fondue and the delightful selection of cocktails. The service was attentive and, even though we were all happily discussing my son's future plans, the large booth made us feel as if were not disturbing other diners. We were very pleased to be able to linger over after dinner drinks. I thoroughly appreciated the vegetable option, especially the tofu and the ravioli.
Service friendly amd helpful. Alpine cheese fondue good but seemed thin and diluted. Less than you imagine from the pot. Dark chocolate fondue pretty good. Choices of sweets for dunking far too sweet. Menus confusing for first timers
We had a great time celebrating my daughters birthday. The only thing I wish I knew ahead of time was to request a 2 burner table. Didn't know to do that. It had been a while since we had been to The Melting Pot so we had to have a review and the waiter was great.
Wonderful food and service as usual. The staff is so wonderful.
The overall experience for me was great up until it was time to pay the bill. Now don’t get me wrong we were all for the paying. We asked our waiter about the Easter Menu and Prices that we over heard another waitress telling another family. Because we were not offered the same special. He informed us about this menu and pricing after we’ve ordered and eaten our food from another menu, By this time we requested to see the manger on duty. We tried explaining the situation to the manger but he was very dismissive and very unprofessional and had us under the impression that the Waiter that Waited our table informed him that we were well aware of the Easter Menu. Come to find out the Waiter said noting of sort and the Manger began to apologize pretty much for lying on our waiter and the manger and gave us the prices for the Easter Menu. Although the food was good. We will not be returning to this location because of the character of the Manger.
For Easter Brunch, my partner and I did the 4-course Easter special: cheese fondue, salad, main course, and dessert for $39.95. All courses were excellent! As usual, I was so stuffed I couldn't finish all the dessert. :( It was an excellent value and our server, Destiny, was professional and had a good humor. We're looking forward to our next meal there.
Banquette seats were torn in multiple spots, including a hole.
Pacing of meal was POOR, had to ask host to intervene because entree dishes sat dirty for more than 30 minutes while plated dessert trays sat around the corner. We told server multiple times that we needed quick transitions with 4 kids 11 & under.
Complimentary photo was blurry and
steam obscured faces
The experience here is wonderful.. it's nice to get to enjoy a 2-3 hour meal when you are spending money to eat out. The experience and service is excellent and entertaining. The meal is well paced so you don't get overfull.
Thanks Kevin for a special anniversary dinner.
The meal was a fun and delicious experience. I booked online, and we only waited two minutes for the staff to finish setting up the table. I requested "A touch of romance" which gave my wife a smile when she saw the rose petals and candles on the table. Kevin, our server, was great. He was energetic without being overwhelming. He guided us through the menu and the fondue meal process. Every course was delicious. My wife and I have similar tastes, so we had no problem agreeing on the cheese course, the oil for the meat course, and the chocolate course. ( I don't know how it would work with one pot and two or more people at a table with different tastes.) Everything was perfect and it made a unique, fun, and delicious dinner for our 21st anniversary.
We normally go to the Melting Pot located in Annapolis, MD since that's where we live. We decided to go to this one to celebrate my gf's birthday since we were up in VA that day anyway and she loves fondue. Previously my opinion of the Melting Pot was limited to the one in Annapolis, so I never thought much of the place. But this one changed my mind. I actually enjoyed myself this time.
Calvin our server was fabulous! The food was great minus having too much tofu.
Everything was fabulous.
Waiter was outstanding! It was his 3rd day working there but you would never know that. I cannot leave enough positive input for him. In addition, I unintentionally left my credit card behind. I had not even gotten into my car after leaving and the manager was calling me to let me know I'd left it behind. I have a Melting Pot much closer to my home, but I will drive over an hour to go to this one in the future.
Jeff Black is always a delight! I love the atmosphere! the staff has a positive vibe to them! everyone has a great sense of humor, especially John the manager!
My girlfriend and I had the most wonderful experience ! From the greeting to the goodbye, everything was impeccable!
Must visit great food good vibes amazing experience
The waiter was very nice but too chatty; kept asking us questions. I was there to talk with my date. He brought us white wine glasses for our red wine. When we mentioned the glasses - he ignored us and didn't bring the correct glasses. The restaurant was LOUD. Finding your way into the restaurant from the parking garage is a feat. What a crazy maze. The food was very good. The wine was overpriced. Not feeling the 'man buns' that a lot of the staff were sporting. It brought down the classiness of the restaurant. The portion size of the cheese was a bit small, otherwise, the "Classic" was wonderful. Have been coming to this restaurant chain for many years, to the one in Reston lately as we moved out that way. Am moving back in close to the Arlington restaurant next month. All-in-all we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you
Tamika was a fabulous server and made our meal exceptional! Thank you for a memorable experience!
Great experience and customer service. The food was excellent and filling to my surprise. Will return again for a visit.
Our server Destiny, was great! The food was wonderful. I had been telling my fiancé about this place and they delivered!
Very expensive but a nice atmosphere and unique dining experience. I would recommend if you like the ambiance and don't mind paying such a high price.
Don't go here if you're in a hurry! Took 45 minutes to get drinks after getting seated, was about a 2 hour experience (which to be fair, was very pleasant and the food was great), and when the waitress forgot to bring the to-go box with the dessert, we just finally left because we couldn't wait another 20 minutes for her to come back.
The service and food was AMAZING. Our server Chablis was very nice and accommodating. I definitely will be dining here again at this location, Melting Pot! Will definitely be referring this place to all of my family and friends.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 star establishment!
Great experience food was outstanding as well as the service
My friend just got married and I’m turning 40 at the end of March. We had reservations for 4 in the restaurant. But, 2 people in our party caught the flu and had to cancel. We decided to eat in the bar and Carlos was fantastic. We didn’t feel rushed and appreciated the drink recommendations.
For sure a fun experience, but in no way is this fine dinning. The staff is dressed pretty casual, and other customers are in jeans and casual attire. The food is great, the service is great, but it’s not something to get dressed up for. My husband and I were dressed up and felt totally out of place.
Disappointing there was a mouse in the restaurant. Manager didn’t do anything other than say he will contact pest control. We were scared. Looking back and after sharing my experience with family they think it was unhygienic and should of left. Manager just thanked us for not making a scene.
Good time, good food!
My boyfriend and I went to the Melting Pot for a date night. It was our first time going and the staff was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. I liked the overall idea of this restaurant and the experience. Very easy food to share and it taste delicious. Our alcoholic drinks were tastefully made. Would recommend to first timers just for the fondue experience and friendly staff :)
