Beautiful view, chilly because of the ocean breeze, so dress warm.

This experience could have been so much more. There was a wedding going on in the hotel at the same time so maybe they were stretched thin but service was slow and the limited menu left us wanting.

We asked for indoors because it was quite windy. Dining room was completely lacking in ambiance: scuffed floor, old furniture, wobbly table, no music.

Drinks slow to arrive. Waiter inexperienced. One dinner arrived then we waited 25 minutes for the other three. Had to ask the waiter what was going on several times. He never once took initiative or seemed to care about us. Table next to us was seated 20mins after us and served 20mins before us.

We will NEVER return.

The atmosphere was lovely and the staff friendly, helpful and just great. I had not been in this room before. It is beautiful with a Spanish tiled fireplace which was warm and beautiful. The Valencia is one of my favorite places to go and never disappoints. Thank you all for giving us, once again a wonderful experience.

Great views of Pacific. Hummus trio fantastic. Ahi poke and veggie tacos terrific.

This is my favorite lunch spot out on the balcony. I love their Cobb Salad with fresh Salmon and the sherry vinigarette dressing. Service is superb.

Hummus trio was delicious! Caesar salad was perfect, so was the Turkey club. Try the Pink Lady, it was delightful! The view is spectacular as well.

La Valencia did not have my Open Table reservation even though I had the confirmation. Since I could not readily retrieve my confirmation, due to wifi issues, I was told to wait for a table.
Meanwhile, my party had been seated 15 minutes and they got in under my reservation.
La Valencia hands great food and ambiance but their staff needs training.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch out on the “balcony”, but did find it a bit chilly in the shade, even with the heaters on. The poke bowl was one of the best we’ve ever had while the lobster salad roll was just average. Our server was good and the service team worked well together in meeting the guests needs.

We loved the ambiance but we were disappointed with a limited dinner menu. Same menu we had seen at the pool and for room service.

Food was very generic for an Easter dinner. Lacked flavor and the service was slow. We expected more for the price and that it was a holiday dinner. Would not recommend to friends.

Always an amazing time at La Valencia. The food was amazing and the views were gorgeous.

Easter Brunch...toted as #1 in San Diego; however, the prefixed menu left us wanting. The sauces were gelatinous as they we left out sitting, the oysters were frozen to the shell and the presentation was haphazard. The service and ambience were reflective of the Easter experience we had hoped for; however, at a price tag of almost $700 for 4 people, we unfortunately won’t be returning.

Gorgeous ocean views inside and out. We decided to stay inside because we had senior diners with us and it was before the marine layer had burned off. Great choice, as we still had the lovely view and the warmer option along with clear blue skies! The service was wonderful! The food was good, and the service even better. The desserts were absolutely perfection...and the kindness of the servers was very much appreciated .

My favorite brunch spot in La Jolla. The ambiance cant be beat with the ocean views. The service is always great and the food delicious. Everything you want!

We arrived and our room had been oversold. We were offered a "better" room but would have to move. So double inconvenience.
In addition there was very little hot water - shower took literally 4 minutes to heat up and then only lasted 2 minutes. Also the sliding door to the bathroom would stick and you could not exit without assistance from someone outside it.

Very happy with meal! Good food and service!

Great food and the best view in this historic and iconic La Jolla hotel.

We were supposed to be seated outside and were placed indoors. Also the menu was identical to pool side menu with three added items

Limited space in the veranda, lunch menu was okay. Lobster Benedict was not lobster, more like crawfish, cinnamon rolls were overcooked and dry. However, service was excited.

the view was fantastic, they have indoor and outdoor options: both with great ocean view. We had brunch there. Servers were very helpful and nice. Food was good

Great service, great drinks, pricey.

Got a burger and fries - nothing special. My friend got the poke bowl and it was outstanding. The desserts were wonderful. Go here for the view! It was windy but a beautiful day and the side patio was perfect.

Didn’t respect my reservation

We scheduled a reservation for spring tea, but when we got there, they informed us that tea didn’t start until April. Very disappointed. Food was ok. Service left something to be desired.

Fantastic meal at a wonderful hotel in a beautiful city!

We ate here in 2008 and enjoyed it so much that we returned in 2021. What a change in this time frame. The “dinner” menu consisted of burgers and other sandwiches. I would not recommend the food here any longer.

Terrible service waitress rude and entitled will never go back.

Dining at The Med at La Valencia is always a treat, spectacular in every way. From the moment you enter the courtyard and then the beautiful lobby, the ambiance, staff and view are superb. The cuisine is delectable, delicious, fresh, creative, and varied. We highly recommend the crab cake sandwich, the Ahi tuna and Lychee salad, their classic hamburger as well as the scrumptious lemon cake for dessert. Over the years, we have never had a meal at The Med that we didn't love. They even have a menu for dogs. We ordered the "Steak and Eggs" for our pup and she devoured it in a flash! Best of all, the service was attentive, professional, friendly and absolutely excellent. Our waitress, Rachel, went above and beyond, even helping us as we were leaving when our puppy, who has been to the restaurant before, suddenly got fearful about walking on the polished floors and leaving the hotel. Rachel brought her treats and even carried our big puppy outside. We can't thank her and the wonderful staff at the hotel enough!!! We highly, highly recommend The Med and La Valencia hotel!!!

Our waiter, Eric, was great. He was attentive as well as charming to four “old” ladies and we enjoyed the whole experience

We had a delightful dinner with out of town guests at The Med. Dining outdoors with a gorgeous ocean view in a historically beautiful hotel made the experience special. The menu is limited due to COVID, everything we ate was incredibly delicious. Fantastic service, a wonderful evening!

Outstanding! Cinnamon roll is a must have!!

Beautiful location as always for my husband and I. Loved that we got to order a drink from the bar and sit outside facing the cove while we waited for our table. Once seated, we had several heaters around to make our dinner comfy in the evening hours, great live musicians, wonderful service with wonderful foods. Amazing evening all the way around!

We went for our anniversary, and it was lovely! We were worried about being cold with outdoor dining, but they had plenty of heaters. Though the menu is limited due to Covid, the food was delicious.
The bartender also did a great job of making a mocktail version of one of the cocktails for me since I am pregnant. We definitely would return again.
