Tried this on a whim, was Excellent. Will go to again in the future.
Great food and great service! I had a wonderful time!
The food as described is appealing and it looks good, but it is not good. Every time I go I think have ordered the wrong thing so I give another try. I never like what I order. This visit I ordered the falafel salad which was completely overwhelmed with the not well executed lemon tahini dressing.
I liked the comfortable atmosphere of the dining room. I definitely would return to try more dishes and drink selections. The prices are affordable and portions sizes were just right. We've decided to have monthly lunches there.
Waitress was not very professional. Her communications with us was very “casual.” When asked about specials, she told us items that were no longer available, instead of what we really wanted to hear. Service was slow. We had to ask for things, which either didn’t come or came out late.
We were told chili was a little spicy, not to our taste though.. We asked for Tabasco or jalapeño peppers. Both had to be asked for again so it could be eaten while it was somewhat still warm to the palate.
One of the items ordered was a sandwich. The bread was toasted too hard for the person, but again, worried about slow service, opted to just eat the inside of the sandwich.
When coffee was brought out, it was hot, but too many coffee grinds in the cup. By this time, we were done and had to return to work. It was already going on the second hour.
Traveling for summer, took hotel suggestion for a good place for dinner. Very nice. The booth we were seated in was a bit tight, had to ask to clear appetizer plates before placing main dishes. Other than that, it was very good.
We made a joke about how much room on the table the lamp was taking 😂
Had an exceptional visit this weekend. Our server Edgar was outstanding! He offered recommendations and they were spot on. Everyone loved their meals. He was prompt with his check ins and kept our drinks refilled. Friendly and funny! He made our experience so enjoyable. Our parents were visiting from out of town and this was their most enjoyable meal of the week. Thank you!!
This was a great spot for brunch to reconnect with an old friend. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a nicer brunch spot in the city!
Awesome place for a Sunday Brunch. The service delivers beyond expectations.
Everything was delicious, although very heavy for a brunch meal. Definitely recommend sharing dishes - they are nice enough to split it onto two plates for you if you do. The ricotta doughnuts are housemade and great for sharing!
My best friend and I were celebrating her pre birthday. Food was really good I had meatloaf for dinner, it was tasty. The atmosphere was nice but the service could have been much better from our waitress side. A good tip depends on the great service a waiter gives. Overall we had a great time!
The ambiance was very upscale and my dinner of scallops was the best I've ever had...... small portions but delicious. My husbands meatloaf was also very good. Drinks and dessert were great.
We stayed for the Max Weinberg concert in the lower level and he as always is fun and a great entertainer. We do plan to return for other shows and some sushi.
I'm not a foodie so don't really know how to write food details. I gave five stars based on how much my picky eating teenage daughter (16) loves this place. She enjoyed the chicken sandwich and loved the butter biscuit with strawberry jam. I had a Cuban sandwich. I can say that the food tasted fresh. Not over salted and seasoned. The place is very elegant without feeling stuffy, again according to my daughter. :-)
She was happy so I was happy.
I had a great experience at the Hamilton. The food was phenomenal, the service was impeccable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who asks.
Waited 10 minutes to get setvicei to order or water service and bread and butter for table. Took 35 minutes for food. Waiter did not offer desert. Food is good but service needs improvement...
Celebrated my birthday and I had a great time and had wonderful service
Fantastic! Family friendly, great food and friendly staff. The food is delicious, def a great spot to eat while in DC. Would def go again.
Amazing food and excellent service.
Great service, prompt food, well prepared lunch.
Great environment but small servings that come only with main item. Must order veggies etc. separately. This lowers the value making the final bill on the high end. Service was OK but could be better. Our waiter relied too much on assistance of assistants, as he referred to them as, and there was a disconnect between them making service to our table only OK. There was also a big lamp on the table that took up too much space and it could not be moved.
Always a good spot to grab a working lunch. It is very busy so definitely make a reservation.
Wonderful Experience ! First time to dine in with family and friends. Food and ambiance was astounding. Sophia showed exemplary service all night. Will go back there again👌
Took my contractors and we had a great dinner, it was a good atmosphere for talking business and socializing.
Ask for a private booth table!
I have been here multiple times and have always enjoyed myself. I tried to make a reservation for one, and the restaurant had no availability, tried same time, etc but for 2 people and surprise, surprise, I got a reservation! When I got there and explained I would be alone, I was asked to wait until my table was cleared, OK. Then 3 parties of 2 came in and they were seated immediately- no wait. After 15 minutes, I was seated-- just as I was getting ready to leave.
Once seated, the waitress had no time for me.
The food was good-- I had sushi, wine choices were excellent-- lots of choices for half bottles.
It's too bad, the front desk and the waitress don't realize a single diner just might spend as much as a couple. Normally I leave a 25% tip so the wait staff isn't penalized, last night I left a 15% tip-- reflective of how unwelcome I felt.
Last night was not my usual experience here-- I will try them again to see if last night really was a fluke.
It was an excellent location to have lunch with an out of town friend. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and our waitress provided outstanding service.
Both the food and the service were great! The menu is diverse--provides something for everyone.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were originally 6 guests, but our party grew to 10, and it was quickly accommodated. Service was excellent and the food great. Will be back on my next trip to DC in September
All in all very good
Very good food every time. Reasonably priced..good formal occasions...we were here for my wifes birthday brunch
This place is very large over two rooms and elegant in high ceilings and wood panels. Makes you feel like you’re in a really fine dining place despite moderate prices. It’s open till 2:00 am and just a block from the White House, Willard, & JW Marriott. Worth a meal here.
We had to wait to reserve a table until 9 pm bring it was a busy Saturday night but the wait was worth it. The food was excellent. It was reasonably priced for the area.
The Hamilton is always great. Great range of food options and great service in a very comfortable setting.
We had a marvelous time! Our server was delightful and had great suggestions as it was our first time there. The food was appealing to both the eye and the palate. Afterwards, we went upstairs to listen to great music. A very enjoyable evening!!
Beautiful surroundings with staff that was very attentive but unobtrusive. They were very knowledgeable about the offerings and helpful in making choices from the menu. Everything that we ordered came out correctly seasoned and at the correct temperature. I would definitely recommend The Hamilton to family and friends!
Washington D. C. Hamilton first timers. This was highly recommended from a friend. The Hamilton did not disappoint. Upon check in we felt like the most important couple in the world! What a way to start!
We were personally greeted at our table by Manager T. LLaguri; that made us feel even more special. Our server, Aireana, did an outstanding job, knew the menu well and tended to us throughout the night wonderfully.
The food was fabulous. We had the salmon. Perfect. The bartender held nothing back in their drinks, as well. The busers were fabulous and hustling!
However, I was expecting an Arnie Morton's adult fine dining feel, instead I got a pricey Red Robin families with kids feel. The website photos to me, depict a fine dining experience. I feel that the ambiance does not match the price tag ($130 for two of us) and highly trained level of service (sounds funny, I know).
In fairness to the Hamilton, I may have had the incorrect expectations of which I would embrace this possibility. Perhaps, my demise was that I requested a booth and this routed us to a specific dining section?
Nonetheless, A+ in service and food/beverage for sure! The Hamilton did nothing wrong. I'll be sure to ask more questions next time upon making my reservations.
Fantastic! Great in every respect. Kid friendly and wonderful service.
We went on a Friday night basically because our 14 year old daughter is a huge Hamilton fan. We went upstairs to the bar area where they had live music (They have a very nice dining room downstairs). Upstairs you have to order at the bar and you will not get the same service as if you were in the dining room although it is the same exact menu. The food was good priced moderately high. The band was fun and we had a great time. Would go back.
Great experience - enjoyed my meal very much. Friendly service.
