So great! Perfect date night spot, amazing!
One of the coolest spots in NYC. Great live music, drinks and service. Highly recommended.
I was really looking forward to this place based on the reviews, however our party was placed in a corner, almost like a small private room. While it might sound great for some, we couldn't see the stage at all, which was disappointing given we came there mainly for the music, and it was super dark. Our view was a staircase and ppl going to the restrooms. For a part of 5 we were given 3 small tables, all different size and height, which was awkward to dine. The waiter was unwilling to help or try to find better seating after we had asked, even though it was clear there were open tables. The waiter didn't seem knowledgeable of the whiskey's on the menu, and cocktails were okay. Appetizers were good and the music was good for what we could hear.
Great venue to watch Jazz. Great food and service also.
Unique and lively. Tempting cocktails and well appointed wine list, fun and inspired appetizers and the menu was diverse. A trio was performing, the female vocalist had high energy and her voice would have handled Billie Holiday with ease. The song selection was not the typical selection which paid homage to the talent. Can't wait to go back!!
We came to have a drink to celebrate the first night of our honeymoon. My husband loves whisky (especially Bourbon) and I wanted to treat him as a thank you for taking me to see Phantom of the Opera. We had a great time, the service was amazing and he was thrilled to try a flight of bourbons he’s never had before.
Our only complaint, they called six times (twice I spoke to staff) to confirm our reservation as they were concerned that we were coming after the life music was done and we worried we’d be disappointed. So while it was annoying they only did it out of concern. Just wish the staff had talked to each other so they knew we knew there as no live music and that didn’t concern us.
Darren was an amazing bartender with great knowledge on the Whiskies.
Lovely food atmosphere and service a bit pricey but well worth it for a special occasion 😄
Superb evening - we thoroughly enjoyed the Thanksgiving Prix Fixe. Well prepared and presented. Tasteful live music - enjoyable atmosphere. Impeccable service - thanx, Simon. Even though we arrived too early, we were promptly accommodated in a perfectly cozy but ample nook.
Horrible food, bad music, over priced. It tasted like a frozen tray dinner.
The band was excellent. Might have liked it better if we were not so close to the stage as it was a bit loud but still enjoyable.
Accommodating. Great whisky and acts as always.
It was amazing! Was celebrating my boyfriends 25th birthday and it couldn’t have gone better. The music was eloquent and drinks were top notch
I love this place!! It’s such a delight to being people here (especially for out of towners), the drinks are amazing the appetizers are unique! Everyone I’ve brought here had a good experience. The drinks are always good!
The whiskey selection was great. Loved being able to get a flight of different kinds. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Our only disappointment was coming to hear the band. Half the members were missing and the sound wasn’t good. Everything midrange and lower was muffled and muddy.
Go for the whiskey and ambiance, but not the music.
Great live jazz with no cover. About a million whiskeys. Ambience is good. I’ve been a number of times and most times have been disappointed with the staff. This last time we asked for a food menu twice but never got one. We had a few drinks and then went somewhere else for dinner.
Way too loud. Blues band was OK, but the main dining tables are next to the way too overcrowded bar
Excellent place - just loved it. Food was great and entertainment just right. Only criticism (and i say this knowing i was at fault for not asking) but would have appreciated waiter telling us that a glass of cab sav was $25 a glass!! Bill came as a bit of a shock.
Ambiance, service and live music were great. Food was nothing special.
I would definitely return.
Always enjoyable. Great drinks. Great food. Great music.
Lovely evening with friends. Our waitress Sara was knowledgeable and attentive. The music was delightful. Of course the whisky and bourbon selection outstanding! Food was delicious, and there are ample vegetarian options.
Amazing experience at the restaurant you literally pay for what you get.
Amazing experience. Setting and Jazz were very cool. Definitely worth a visit.
Go for the music and drinks. NOT the food. Place is very cool with a sexy intimate vibe. The drinks are awesome. My husband had a whisky cocktail that was yummy and my martini was perfectly made. The Jazz was fun and entertaining. The food was not so good. The photo is of my $34 "lobster" risotto with about a few small pieces of lobster. And about as much corn as rice. It was wet and cold and undercooked.
We had a blast at the Flatiron Room! The Jazz was great! The food delicious and the service outstanding!
Perfect table. I made my girl so happy We couldn’t even order our first round because you want to take me home so fast
Special night, good service, staff super with extensive sprits selection. Got to try far ranging single malts. Pricey.
Took my friend here for his birthday and we had a fantastic time. It exceeded my expectation. The combination of the live music, food, and 100+ whiskey was outstanding. Highly recommend this spot to impress a date, birthdays or any whiskey enthusiast.
Could not hear the music the room was far too loud wjth background talking (shouting)
My girlfriend and I wanted to take her sisters, who were visiting from out of town, out for a really nice - but uniquely New York meal. They were staying on W 28th street, so The Flatiron Room came up in a "restaurants nearby" search. Although they are all omnivores, I'm a vegetarian and it can be tough to find nicer places with solid vegetarian entree options. The main reason I picked this restaurant is they had SEVERAL options that were vegetarian (as well as gluten free) in addition to several small plate options and classic, elevated comfort foods.
The experience was awesome. We made a reservation for 7:30 pm on a Wednesday and were seated right up next to the stage (great live music as well). I ordered a blackberry gimlet (delicious), the black bean fritters (a little dry, but very flavorful), and split a caramel mousse (soooo good) for dessert. The portion sizes were appropriate -- we all left full and very satisfied. The staff was very friendly, though they seemed a bit understaffed at the front of the house -- it pretty much seemed to be one very frazzled man answering the phone, confirming reservations, seating guests, and operating the coat check. By the time we left, around 9:00, the bar area was filling up.
We didn't even get to sample the whiskey menu (none of them are whiskey drinkers), but it seems this place offers all kind of fun events and classes for people who are interested in whiskey. I hope to go back and do a little bit more tasting.
Overall great experience, a little mix up in the kitchen but the waiter was able to fix it. Still made for a great experience.
The food was great. Small portions for a high price though. Came for the live jazz but the place was so loud and the music so quiet that you couldn't really hear it. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese with the Guanciale.
Even though our reservation was made a month in advance, and we arrived a little early, seating was horrible. We were looking forward to seeing and enjoying the live music, however, we were given a table in the very back next to the door. Others coming in were given available seats up front. We were a party of two. The food was unremarkable. Music was ok.
Very nice place and concept ! I really recommend it !
Wonderful, but portions were too small.
Great spot, my wife and I had a fantastic time. Music was good, great vibe to the room, and the food was quite good. The small plate meatballs were outstanding!
Fun place to go after seeing a show on Broadway. Huge selection of whiskey.
The service was outstanding! The place is amazing with a live jazz band and cozy atmosphere ! Excellent food and a big selection of Wisky. A great place for couples or friends to have an enjoyable night out in NY!
