The Bungalow Lakehouse calificaciones y reseñas
enjoyed a late lunch the Food was wonderful and the service was great. we had appetizers and crab cake sandwich and shrimp po boy. seemed like it would be a nice place in the spring or summer on the water for lunch they have a large dining area on the lakeside.
This restaurant was listed as one of the top dining spots in Sterling, VA. I took hubby there for his birthday. We were seated immediately due to our open table reservation. The food was amazing; I had the Chesapeake crab soup and hubby had the Jamaican egg rolls. For our entrees, I ordered the honey grilled salmon salad and hubby had Maryland crab soup. Overall, the dining experience was great but I would have loved to seen a more expansive menu to include lobster (whole Maine or tail), oysters, and lamb.
We had relatives visiting from out of town who are vegan and we had no idea where to take them. We offered them a few restaurant ideas. Bungalow Lakehouse had a great vegetarian menu that they got very excited about. The food was superb and the service was excellent!
This was the first time I have been there. It was cold day outside, and inside the restaurant it was warm. So we were looking forward to a good mean and companionship. However, all of us commented that the food was extremely salty. I have never been to a restaurant that used so much salt. I won't be going back any time soon.
This was my first visit to the Bungalow Lakehouse, but it will not be my last. They have a decidedly active and noisy sports bar which is separate from the dining area. Service is very good. Food was well presented and very tasty. I really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich with it's special salsa and slaw. The fries were nice and thin and crispy. Their French onion soup was perfect with lots of cheese and their salad was just right, but it would have been nicer to have half a sandwich with the soup but they do not offer that. Dessert was a bit over the top and we luckily had asked for the fudge sauce and the caramel each on the side or our shared brownie would have been too gooey to eat. As it was, it worked out fine splitting it. It is much too big for one normal human. I give the Bungalow Lakehouse four stars for taste and great service. I'll be back!
Bungalow Lake House is very inconsistent. The service is usually excellent but was slow when we last ate there. There was a large party in a side room, but that shouldn’t excuse understaffing. The food was okay but not great. Two in our party had fish tacos and the tortillas were dried out. The lumps of fish were so small as to be lost under the slaw. The side dish of chorizo Mac ‘n cheese was, however, excellent. Another in our party of five had the pork chops, which she enjoyed. It was a big serving and nicely cooked. No complaints. The other members of our party had steak, one the rib eye, the other a filet. The filet was perfectly cooked, but the rib eye was cold by the time it got to the table. The scalloped potato side dish with the steaks was also cold, as if it had been taken right from the fridge to the plate. Pretty disappointing as the whole point of scalloped potatoes is the warm cream and cheesy flavor, completely missing in this ice box version. Oh well. We will probably go back, especially for burger and seafood nights, but set your expectations on middlin for the rest of the menu.
Bungalows is always good for meetings. Tuesday night is half price hamburgers. Ours were cooked to perfection.
Making a reservation we requested an outside table. The hostess had one waiting for us.
We ended the evening with a nightcap in the bar. The bartender Mark is personable and does a terrific job.
we recently had dinner at the bungalow lakehouse since we were interested in trying the Oktoberfest menu. we came the last few days that the menu was available, so certain foods and beers were already finished. it was disappointing since we already knew what we were going to order, but we had a great waiter, Matt (who was also the bartender) and he helped us through the menu and make some good selections. I have to say, I once worked as wait staff and I couldn't hold a candle to this guy. he was super! This was our second time at this restaurant and we wondered why we waited so long to return. the food is actually quite good and all the folks that came by our table to serve us were wonderful. we really enjoyed the chicken wings (I think we had japanese black pepper or something like that) and we had the sausage dish for Oktoberfest. it was also good with very tasty sauerkraut and we ordered a side dish of the red cabbage. it was a little cold and pricey ($5), but made well. we ended with crème brulee, that although was not warm (the way I like it), it was really delicious. overall, I love the variety in this restaurant, different themed nights, great food, drink and service. my next visit will not be long away...
First, out of three entrees, the crab cake was not good. It was mostly bread. The coleslaw was OK. Fries were good. Hamburger was very good. The other salmon entree was very good. Noise level where we were was great for conversation. Service was good until bill time. Overall very good experience.
What a refreshing Loudoun County dining experience. The food was great, and fairly priced. The portions were large, and the service was quick and attentive. Unfortunately, we were seated in a back room which also held a rather large anniversary celebration, so that raised the noise level a bit, but it was still tolerable. We tried the fried pickle appetizer ($9), which had more pickles than we could eat! Two of us had the market special chicken cordon bleu sandwich with fries ($14). Being moderate eaters, we could have split one serving between the two of us. We also had the COBB salad, which was very large, and around $15. Finally, one of us had the crab cake dinner ($25), which was very good! We each had a dessert, which was in the $6-7 range. We also had two coffees (not stellar, but drinkable), and an iced tea. The total bill for the 4 of us with tip was around $140. Well spent, and much better food for the price than other area restaurants.
Lots of tables. So it is easier to get into on a busy weekend night. Food is pretty good. Service is decent. Our server didn't write down our order, which drives me nuts, but he only forgot one thing we ordered. The decor is old fashioned. Kind of dated looking even though the place isn't all that old. All in all it's a good place to eat, not spectacular but probably dependable.
Our favorite local dining spot.... Whenever we have out of town visitors or DC area visitors, this is our choice for dining to introduce our visitors to the best.
Always quiet enough to enjoy visiting as well as excellent food, excellent service
This is my second time at BL and my husband's first time. I enjoyed the view of the lake and we had a good waitress. My husband felt it took the kitchen too long to bring out our appetizer. In the end he was right because we did have to wait quite a while and he noticed that other tables who sat after we arrived had their app's already. When the waiter from the kitchen arrived with the appetizer he had to run and get plates.
We were half way through the app. when our dinners arrived and suddenly eating that chicken spring roll didn't seem as appetizing with my steak salad. More space would have been appreciated there. Otherwise we enjoyed our meal it was delicious and the lively atmosphere and view.
We went to Bungalow for their Sunday seafood special. It was great, we had a 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp as an appetizer, the way they served it was great. My wife had the lobster and I had the crab legs. All of the food was terrific and the wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the atmosphere was good, we sat outside and enjoyed the live music and pleasant weather.
The Bungalow Lakehouse is literally right around the corner from our home so we often overlook it. It shouldn't be missed!
Very nice menu with creative specials, some comfort food, and an excellent dessert list. The three of us were all very pleased with our selections and the wait staff were very attentive. We know it's a late night place as well, so we will give it a try, too.
Food was outstanding, can't wait to do my Yelp Elite review. Was not a fan of the service at all. Literally did not get my refill of iced tea until the end of the meal even after being asked by two people about getting me a refill because they didn't know what I was drinking because my glass was empty! I also hate lemon and specifically said no lemon in my iced tea and got it in my refill. Thirsty the entire 1.5 hour lunch. We were hardly checked on throughout our meal. 1 traveled from Baltimore, 1 traveled from DC and 1 person is local for this business lunch.
The Bungalow Lakehouse is a not so hidden treasure! The menu is diverse with something for everyone and the food is very good and presented very well! The bartender, Matt, is absolutely one of the best anywhere! The Bungalow Lakehouse is my favorite area restaurant. In addition, the food is reasonably priced, the menu changes on a regular basis, the nightly bar specials are great and the service is excellent. You can't go wrong!!
Just OK food. Mediocre steak, simple salads, nothing creative. A friendly waitress however made mistake on our bill, overcharging us. Outside lake-side tables lovely for a nice brunch, say, but it all smelled of heavy smoking. Huge. But: Is it a sports bar (large barn-like room looked like a beer garden plus sports) or an informal restaurant for the large Loudon, Great Falls crowd. Yes there may be money out here, but in terms of good cuisine, we are still waiting. And please do not mention over-the-hill Chez Francois!
