Ten is a modern Japanese tapas style restaurant, centrally located on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall.

Since 2006, Ten has served a variety of both traditional and original cuisine.

Chef Pei Jen Chang sources ingredients from the finest local, regional, and international sea and farm purveyors, and strives to offer fare that will appeal to the gamut of culinary palates.

Our bar menu boasts an extensive wine list, an assortment of imported and local craft beers, as well as one of the largest collections of sake in Virginia. In addition, we offer a unique selection of libations, such as hand-crafted Asian inspired cocktails, assembled using inventive, authentic ingredients, or a 'Sake Flight', which allows for the subtle, intricate flavors of three selected varietals to be experienced.

Convenient parking is available in the Water Street Parking Garage and in an open-air hourly lot, both at the intersection of 2nd St. SE and Water Street. We validate parking for the Water Street Garage. An additional metered lot can be found two blocks west of the Water Street Garage, free after 6:00 PM.

Our service was incredible. The food amazing. The drinks delicious. I'm from out of town and this was the perfect romantic date night and really left a lasting impression. I've had a lot of subpar experiences this trip and Ten was the best experience I've had in this city BY FAR and in the past few months. Cannot recommend Ten enough. Want a night to remember? Go to Ten.

Always the freshest fish -- sushi is excellent. Service is always impeccable and the decor transforms you to a restaurant in NYC. If you like Sushi - you will love Ten. Best in Charlottesville.

I have been going to TEN for several years now. Last nights experience was, by far, the worst experience I have had. Here are a few of the "issues": 1) The sushi rice on the nigiri and the roll was NOT fresh! Tasted and felt like it was old. It was dry, crumbly and tasteless. Usually it is moist and sweet flavor. 2) The fish Oh Toro, Saba, Hamachi and Uni were not what I had eaten before! Very disappointing to say the least. Flavor and texture were lacking. Portion size was very small for $9.00 a piece. BTW I'm NOT apposed to the price! But when you pay that much.......... it should be head and shoulders above other sushi around. It was NOT up to par with my previous visits........ 3) I walked to the restroom by the sushi bar and saw three "chefs" sitting on the FLOOR starring at their phones!! Maybe that's why the service was not what it has been in the past! My bill was $247......I left a $50 tip ...... it was not worth it! I used to love this place. Now I may not go back. VERY SAD.

Ten is always a favorite! It is very expensive but it is truly delicious & the freshest fish in Charlottesville

Always enjoy the food at Ten. The hostess accommodated a table change to get us close to the window which we appreciated and our waiter, Wyatt was friendly and knowledgeable.

Quality of sushi’s and dishes has gone down a lot. To much mayo in rolls and dishes were served cold that were supposed to be warm.

The problem we had is that we did not receive the soup or the salad until after the main course was served. That said, all the food we did receive eventually was quite tasty as usual.

The sushi rolls were outstanding and the miso soup. We will go back to try other selections.
