Teddy & The Bully Bar
We were visiting DC for our Anniversary, mentioned in this in our reservation and the host was nice enough to give us each a glass of processo to celebrate. It was so sweet!
Outstanding food made up for poor service. I will continue to frequent this spot as it is one of the best lunch places in DC and the menu stays strong and unique. This was the first time I've come for dinner in some time and the only time I have had an issue with service, so Teddy's will definitely get another chance.
Business lunch was incredibly loud - as designed, apparently. No carpet or soft materials anywhere. Food was OK, service was top-notch. Three-course lunch priced well. Great location. Be prepared to shout between noon and 2 p.m.
Food was great they needed more servers
Best brunch in DC.
You definitely leave satisfied.
Plenty of food to choose from. Drinks were flowing as well.
The food was pretty good but the service definitely was lacking. We waited for 15 minutes before anyone asked for our drink order. Mind you, the restaurant was dead (ie only 4-5 tables at the most).
Server brought out my plate first, and didn't bring out my girlfriend's plate about 10 minutes later (I had to ask the server where her plate was)
My food was lukewarm by the time she got her plate.
We sat outside. The service was especially good. The food was lovely.
overall, it was good...HOWEVER, we had to wait an excessive amount of time for dessert (and our bill) because someone "dropped the cake." Then, when I asked for my main course and dessert to take home, I was informed that someone threw out my main course (per supposed language "problems"). It was Very Nice that the Manager gave me a full replacement of the main course, though.
Was very impressed with the food and the service at this establishment. Prices were more than fair for what you were given. Highly recommend the corn bread!!
We went for restaurant week. The brussel sprouts disappointed this time (oilier and soggier than usual), but the sea bass and the flourless chocolate cake were outstanding, as always!
Great ambience, great food, great drinks . . . Maybe a little louder than helpful for a business meal with 9 people. Definitely come earlier in the evening for that purpose.
The food was great as always, we had a new employee as our server and he wasn’t as efficient with taking orders and bringing mimosas as he could be so that caused for some increased wait times and less satisfaction with the overall experience for the first time guests I brought with me. I’m sure the employee will become adjusted as time goes on. The manager comped us 10% of the bill which is fine but it’s more so the principal of showing face and giving that employee a bit more support as an establishment. I know I will be back and hopefully my friends will too.
Amazing whiskey cocktails
I've been here before & have loved everything I've had. Coinidentally, I ordered the salmon this time since it was part of the menu during restaurant week, however, this time, the piece of salmon wasn't a great cut and it tasted just okay---not cooked well like I prefer. I was very surprised, but again, this was my 1st time w/experiencing food that was lackluster here. I'll definitely go back but won't order the salmon.....or maybe it was a popular item on the menu and the best cuts of the fish weren't presented due to the volume of orders requested.
The food was delicious. Initially my group was underwhelmed by the portion size, but it was restaurant week and it was to be expected. But after we got through dessert the talk of “hitting the food trucks on the way back to work” had ceased entirely.
Small service issues. We got different menus. Some got the dinner menu while others got lunch. I had an empty water glass for my main course and dessert. Finally asked for a refill and got it promptly. When one of the bussers was removing an appetizer plate, a butter knife with a big glob of deviled egg mix fell onto the tablecloth and bounced around leaving yellow globs all around the table. The knife was not removed from the table until after dessert and the yellow globs remained as well.
Not the end of the world, and it didn’t ruin the experience. But there is room for improvement there.
The food was delicious, though. I’ll definitely be going back.
Really enjoyed the braised short ribs and the roasted brussel sprouts. Excellent selection of whiskies. Highly recommend.
Our waiter was fantastic and informative about the menu. The food was absolutely delicious! Lunch was wonderful! The entire experience, including the ambiance was much more than we expected!
The omelette and waffle stations were great, but all of the menu items were bland and under seasoned.
Great Sunday brunch...lots of options... service was outstanding.
Kept the drinks full and was a great experience.
Lovely meal, relatively cheap! Amazing staff, lady who served us answered all our questions due to the menu being quite new! Lovely food, I had the salmon, quite a light portion but amazing as a healthy alternative dinner! Would recommend!!
Restaurant was well spaces with lots of light. Waiter for very responsive.
Great! Would highly recommend and the food was amazing!
The food was extremely overpriced. The staff was good overall except one remember that was extremely unprofessional and rude to us. The manager was nice enough to take some food off of our check to make up for it but still would not go back there
One of the best meals I have had in a very long time. Outstanding! Cornbread was delicious, fried green tomatoes were the best I have ever had, steak cooked to perfection and macaroni and cheese out of this world! Craft cocktails and attentive friendly service!
The “steak frites “ was pretty bland with a tough cut of meat . My guest had a Cobb salad that he didn’t get 1/4 the way through.
Service here is impeccable.
Great Sunday brunch venue that offers many options of mimosas and breakfast items.
The food was great, but slightly overpriced. Also, a 20% gratuity is automatically calculated into the final bill. Great if you were planning on tipping 20%, but a little presumptive.
Always reliable and nice to see fresh items on the menu since I was there a year ago.
One of my new fav brunch spots.
Amazing food and service, the dj was great during brunch. Loved the atmosphere
This was our first time there....first of many to come. Great vibe, excellent food and outstanding service!
Enjoyed a delicious meal outside on the patio. Attentive service. Varied menu. Portions sized to share and try many things.
Great location and service.
Unfocused menu and theme. Service not great considering not crowded Sunday night. Actual food pretty good overall.
The brunch menu is a probably one of the best values in DC because the majority of the items are really good. The mimosas are average. Our server was attentive to details. We were a party of two, but we were able to sit in a large and comfortable booth. The live DJ was a great touch that made the ambiance unique. No doubt I'll be coming back.
The broccoli Caesar was fantastic. So different and so much healthier than a normal Caesar. I added chicken and for $5 they piled the chicken on!!!
Teddy and The Bully Bar was excellent as usual. We shared cornbread and oysters for an appetizer and had the short rib and scallops for entrees; all excellent. Service was superb! I ordered the irish coffee for dessert and was delighted that it arrived with freshly whipped cream on top.
Sunday Brunch not leisurely. We had a large party of 12 and the seating was great, the drink service was great. However the food coming out in "waves" felt like pigs being fed at the troff. The food came out to fast, some of it got cold before we could get to hit. Picking up the dirty dishes was not fast enough so the table was overloaded with dishes. I had to gather the used dishes myself and hand them to the waiter several times. This was my third visit to the restaurant and I much prefer each person ordering what they want and having a more leisurely dining experience. We felt rushed and overwhelmed with the food coming in waves. It's a great, fun place and we had a good time, we will be back, but we will insist that each person order and that the food come out in a leisurely manner.
The food was fabulous- our second visit for brunch. It tasted great.
Server was lacking in attentiveness and personality. Took far too ling to come check on us - and while it was busy for Fathers Day there were still empty tables so no excuse there. We love the decor and general setting. There was a DJ by the bar and the musicwas TOO loud. We should not have had to speak up so much across the table at Brunch. Unfortunately the loud music and long waits between items coming to the table made for a less than 5 star rating which I would gave the first visit which is why we returned with new guests. I know they were not nearly as impressed with the whole experience as we had been on our first visit and that is unfortunate because they may not ever come back.
We will go back but not on a holiday or in the summer months. (My husband noted a “now hiring” sign when leaving which may explain why our waitress was either insufficiently trained or overwhelmed with too many tables. MAYBE)
I still HIGHLY recommend for the great Brunch food.
Service was so slow that we just got up and went to the brunch stations so we could eat. When the waiter finally came we told him that's what we'd decided to order and asked for an a la carte side order, which never came. We had to find the manager to get our check at the end. It was Father's day, but the service incredibly slow so the overall experience was sub par.
