You have to order via an app. It’s confusing and frankly annoying. No one wants to plug in their credit card number and try to figure this app out when you’re trying to relax with a group of people. You also have essentially no service outside of food delivery. No one to ask “what is this sauce exactly” or “do you recommend this or that?” Or “can I have a box” you have to get out of your seat and look for someone to assist. Which had to happen 3 times with people who were from out of state and I was trying to impress with a neat ambiance. I had to apologize to them. Bug bummer. Hopefully that app is removed ASAP.
I wouldn’t recommend stone brewery until that app is eliminated. In the past we had great experiences though.
I've been here several times now. Food has always been delicious, tonight though.....my main entree was a little meh. It was a very busy Friday night, so I guess understandable.The mac n cheese and onions rings were spot on. Would 10 outta 10 recommend. Service was spectacular as always. We arrived early and Stone Brewing was able to accommodate us. Awesome!
Order was a little slow and messed up. Food was amazing though.
Reservation was made for a birthday which I confirmed twice and they didn’t acknowledge in any way. Most of the food was good except the socal salad ordered was mostly limp lettuce and kale which I added protein of flank steak and it came with 3 small pieces that was incredibly tough to chew. Server didn’t check on us at all. Eaten here many times before but unfortunately this experience was sorely disappointing.
This is a great place for a large group. Our group of 12 was comfortable. Unfortunately, when we sat, the hostess announced that our 2 hours “started now.” I thought that was very off putting! Also their QR ordering system was very confusing and hard to work. It took us forever to get food and no ones food came at the same time. Please bring back a regulars waitperson. Probably won’t consider Stone Brewing again for a special occasion.
You have to download the menu, then order your own food to your table. May be ok for a small group, but with 7 people, my husband spent most of the dinner on his phone trying to order food for everyone. It was ridiculous. Very difficult when kids want ranch or ketchup or someone needs another drink. Was a terrible set up for a large group

Tawny was the best waitress ever!!!! She made things happen for our large last minute group. Love her and will come back just because of her service and work ethic!
Sooooo no one tells you that it’s over a flight pathway so every 3-8 minutes planes fly overhead at night and ruin your convo. Cool spot, but the Escondido one is nicer. Food is filling and large portions. Online ordering is easy though I never got the water refills.
They made us use an app to order food and that might have been ok, but the service was terrible. No one ever came around to ask us if we wanted more food or anything. When you ordered your food there wasn't a place for certain items to be changed or altered. We love the food, but even during these trying times, it could have been a lot better since we were just here a month ago.
Hard to find, hard to park. Service was awful. Waitied an hour and a quarter for two burgers and a salad.
Super awesome place! Directly under the flight path. Jets passing by every 90 seconds at times. Will be returning.

This was a birthday brunch. Since the servers no longer take orders and all ordering is done through an app, it is difficult to review your order. Also, the entire table did not get their food at once. Three people received their food first while the other four waited at least 15 minutes for their food to arrive. Also, some of the hot food arrived cold. Very unhappy.
Always great food, an although short staffed due to worker shortages, the food and beverages were delivered quickly and the follow up by the manager to check on us was fantastic.
I wanted to get together with my siblings and their families as we hadn’t seen each other in a while. Stone’s outdoor dining was the perfect choice for our little mini family reunion. The calming outdoor space is just gorgeous, and the service is above and beyond.
Tbh I was a little worried as we had a larger party, but we were accommodated perfectly, and our dining experience was super smooth and successful. We ate, we drank, and had a blast!
Ordering process was too much work. I understand it’s because of contactless services but it wasn’t enjoyable. We found ourselves on our phones for longer than needed.
There are no servers to place your order. Everything is done from your phone on their very poorly designed website. I consider myself technically savvy, and it still took 15 minutes to place our order.
There were a couple of workers that passed by our table and asked how it was going, and I shared my frustrations with one worker who agreed with me that their website is extremely non user friendly.
The food and beer arrived quickly and everything tasted delicious, but the annoyance from ordering without a server stuck with us the entire meal.
We will not return or encourage others to visit even though their beer and food are on point. This level of dining in a beautiful atmosphere requires personal interaction.
They had trouble accommodating food allergies which would be completely understandable if someone would have had a conversation with us instead for sending dangerous food to the table.
They also changed the menu from creative dishes to typical fish tacos and burgers.
And, they no longer offer table service, you just order and pay on your phone with limited interaction with staff which has pros and cons.
The door area is lovely though.
Beautiful outdoor setting and repurposed historical building. Great food. Downside was need for using QR code and scanning to initiate order. I HATE TECHNOLOGY!

There are now so many planes flying over Liberty Station and the outdoor seating placing you directly below them so it's impossible to hear each other. Also, the app that is required to place your order is not intuitive and difficult to use. Overall not the experience we wanted to have.
Great Beer, Food and Ambience. Don't like the automated ordering. Would rather go back to a real waiter.
There was lots of space and the staff was super friendly.
The food and beer are amazing, and the atmosphere is awesome, but they are still making you order and pay for all of your orders through a QR code and it is a major headache! The app doesn’t always work and if there are lots of people, the wireless service stops working. They started it because of COVID, but it is such a waste of time and energy and what would otherwise be a great place that I will not go back until they’ve gone back to normal servers taking care of tables.
We had been planning a dinner for my coworkers retirement, we called multiple times we emailed we never got a response, my coworker and i made 2 separate reservations (no biggie) when we got there; the hostess was RUDE, she didnt even try to help us and try to sit us together or at least close by each other, instead she sat us far from each other; we asked multiple times when other parties around us were leaving if we could be moved closer she would shut me down; even at some point asked me “if i wanted to come around and see the table map for myself” We decided to let it go and deal with it, at some point i went to my car to grab something for my friend, the same hostess saw me walking in and stopped me automatically assumed i was carrying food and said i couldnt come in, i just told her i was giving something to my coworker and not to worry about it bc we were leaving, which at that point i was confused bc other ppl in my party had brought cupcakes and they didnt have a problem with it, maybe she just had a problem with me. Dont think ill be going back.
So much potential but.. beer as always is enjoyable. Our entrees unfortunately came, at best, room temperature. Two of them had to go back to get heated up. We had the ribs... Fish and chips came ok but only had two small pieces of fish and a huge spiral of potato chips . Fish should be larger than chips . In the end the manager was very nice and comped two dinners and gave a free brownie dessert.
The waiterless approach is not fun, personal, easy, or effective.
No servers! Only way to order is on your phone, and you must provide a credit card and phone number first. No wait staff and despite plenty of staff walking around all were too busy to help us. Very impersonal and very out of character for a restaurant that has great food and great decor. We sat outside which was nice except for the frequent loud airplane noise. They should hire servers instead of being cheapskates and laying everybody off.
Hostess not quite rude attitude but definitely not very friendly..not a good start. Unfortunately the experience got worse. Table service is mostly self service. Diners are expected to order food themselves via a QR code link plastered to the table. Pretty much unable to ask questions about menu items or make dietary substitutions. Flagged down wait person..very friendly and agreed to take our order. Food arrived.. mediocre food taste and texture at best. Across several different dishes food lacked flavor beyond salt and fat that never quite rendered. Then .... there is the noise...the restaurant outdoor seating is in a gorgeous setting complete with koi pond that is rendered (pun intended) useless by being directly under the nearby airport flight path.
So...some positive in the wait staff trying hard but the overall experience from hostess to the bland and mediocre food to airplane noise makes this an experience not worth having let alone repeating.

Unfortunately due to just opening up after COVID the restaurant service is not the same. No waiter available to take your order or check on you, you order through your phone, very impersonal and it takes quite awhile to receive your food. The hostess was rude when we arrived and no one acknowledged when we were leaving. The menu is cut way back but food was decent. After eating there quite a bit before it was quite a shock to see it in the minimalist state it’s in. When people start going back to work hopefully they will go back to how they once were.
The food here is great! There were a lot of planes who flew over head so that interrupted our conversations quite a bit. We were not a fan of ordering on the app. We had to ask multiple times for small plates for the appetizers. This is our third time here since August 2020 and it is always busy. Always best to have a reservation here.
We always enjoy dining at Stone Brewery. We weren’t very happy with where we were seated. It was in the shade and close to the exit/entrance near the bathroom.
Really unwelcoming from the start. Such a bummer because we love coming as a family and bringing out of town guests. Ordering from a QR code really sucks. Took us 25 minutes to get waters and that’s because we had to ask a server passing by. With the QR code you aren’t assigned to a server so no one comes and checks on you. No refills, no offer of boxes for leftovers. You feel like your in the way and no one seems happy to be working there. We have been in 3 separate times in the last year and have seen zero improvement. It used to be a great experience dining here. We asked the person seething us if it was a busy day since it was the 4th of July and she said no not at all and that we came at the perfect time because it was very mellow (7:45 pm).
Got there 10 mins before our reservation and was asked to wait outside until our reservation time.
On time, our hostess led us to our table without anyone ever welcoming us to the restaurant. We were then advised it was self-order and self-pay all by smartphone. We were given one menu for the table but I had to read off the phone to get a shot at it. I am pretty tech savvy but it still took us 25 mins to order and get beverages ordered and another 10 mins or more before any drinks showed up at our table.
I was not impressed with any of the food we ordered. As an example, taco platter for $13.50 of three fish tacos were street taco sized and each had one modest strip of fish in it. Hardly enough for one person. A pretzel was $9.50, good sized, but it's basically a piece of bread for almost $10 with a small side of mustard and cheese sauce to dip in. A pint of their in-house beer was $7.50. No value at all here.
When the food came it was basically dropped on the table, spare plates were slammed down and no "enjoy your food" and no follow up to ask if we needed anything or to ask if dinner was ok. Service was lousy. It really seemed like everyone working there hated their job or just did NOT want to be there. The ordering app conveniently defaults to a 20% tip unless you manually change it, but you pay first at the time you place the order, so NO incentive to provide any level of service. I'm not sure how it works if you wanted additional food or dessert and there was no support from a waiter or waitress if we needed anything else. I skipped ordering additional drinks amd coffee and dessert because we just didn't feel like sticking around and didn't know if we had to start another tab or what?
I am a local and have no plans to go back and would dissuade any out of town guests from wasting their time there. Most of the tables inside were empty and about half empty outside so maybe were not the only ones that won't circle back.
