Shoe's Cup & Cork calificaciones y reseñas
Read reviews before coming to find out that the service was poor. i went anyway due to the ratings on the food. The food is exceptional but ONLY if you could handle the service. I was there with 2 gfriends celebrating a birthday breakfast. Never once was I offered to place my order, refill coffee, given a menu, etc. But I did have to chase the wait staff down and get my own menu, milk, etc. The service SUCKS. There is no other way to put it. All of us women are in the industry and would have gladly given a 50% tip to the server--however, we were appauled by how lousy the young person was. I LEFT 20% on an already overpriced meal. will not recommend and definitely will not be back
Birthday lunch celebration with a friend, thoroughly enjoyed every aspect, from the cool secret Garden and ambience of its outdoor seating, to the great service and wonderful food… They even offered us a dessert on the house to celebrate our birthdays. Will definitely be back!!! Love!!
My whole family was together for the first time in years and we met at Shoe's to have a farewell breakfast for my brother and his wife. We did not make any special requests other than no cheese for my lactose intolerant sister-in-law, no onions on one bagel platter, and no capers on the other bagel platter. The waitress seemed to be having a bad day and she was surly from the beginning of our seating until the check came. She rolled her eyes, shook her head, sighed, and showed great impatience when we asked what would replace the potatoes since the potato fryer was broken. My brother asked if he could have fruit if there were no potatoes. Her response, "The chef will take care of making the decision of what will replace the potatoes." REALLY???? That's how you respond? My sister ordered one kind of cereal which just happend not to be up the chef's standards, so the waitress offered another kind. My sister asked to see the ingredients in the new cereal since her son has certain food intolerances. One might have thought she asked for the waitress for grow the grains, harvest, and prepare a new kind of cereal with the reaction of the waitress. Other than the waitress's behavior, the food was good, the atmosphere was amazing, the morning was delightful, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The restaurant has a great feel and the location is good. The food we ordered is another issue my father ordered eggs benedict to which the bottom of the muffins were burnt black and the eggs probably had a tablespoon of hollandaise sauce dribbled on top. When this was brought to the attention of our waitress she brought a new muffin on a plate. Most of the good resteraunts I have been to would have taken the plate away and brought back a proper food order. My food was warm at best.
We had a great time and enjoyed our meal. The ambiance was like a trip back in time to the 1930's, or like being on a movie set. It was tiny, but had lots of character and a collection of cool antique phones cameras tvs and radios. They even had a gramophone. It was cool. We will definitely go back for dinner.
Given the bad weather we lucked out and had the Poker Room to ourselves. Everything was outstanding. Our 3 year old daughter had a great time. She had the fried chicken and fresh fruit and enjoyed it. My wife and I had steaks and they were very good and cooked perfectly. The staff was very friendly. On a busier night I would say the Poker Room would probably be a moderate noise level vice a quiet noise level. The decor of the room is really awesome and we loved the classic prohibition bar and other treasures in the room. We can't wait to go back. We chose Shoe's on a whim and found a favorite.
Food was excellent. It was freezing inside. The space heater kept turning off. Everyone had winter jackets on and it was still too cold to be comfortable. They were having issues with credit card and internet service as well and could only take cash.
We went to Shoe's Cup & Cork for a "Coffee & Dessert" Birthday party for my friend. When we arrived we went upstairs to the Speakeasy Room and were sat in a row of chairs and tables that made it so if someone had to get up to use the restroom, everyone had to get up. The upstairs room isn't made for larger groups of people. The room itself was really nice, set up like the 1920s with music coming from an old timey radio. The service was great, our server was very knowledgeable and recommended modifications for the guests with dietary restrictions.
in all it was a very nice experience, just not good for a large group (of more than 8-10).
Ordered a waffle. Expected a waffle. Was presented with a stone cold spice/pumpkin 'waffle' so hard and cold obviously not freshly made. Asked the waitress if it was a pumpkin waffle and she said 'sometimes he likes to add his own spices'. Then advertise as such! I wanted and expected a hot, fresh buttermilk waffle NOT a cold, hard-as-a-rock spice cookie.
Great food and exemplary service. Ask for Quincy! I had the eggs Neptune which is eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. I added a couple of slices of avocado. Completed the dish well. Great red potatoes on the side. My partner had eggs Benedict that she loved . Good espresso and mimosas. Will become a regular.
Food was good quality and good value, if oversold a little by the server. The Brussels sprouts were good, not great. Need more seasoning. The Chicken was quite good. Quality wines for the price. Overall a really good value for good quality meal.
I went here for brunch one Saturday. Ordered the biscuits to start. The apricot jam was ok and the biscuits were nice and flaky. I then ordered the special, steak benedict. The steak was fatty, chewy, and cooked too long (I ordered it medium) it came out well done. No seasoning on the steak and the portion was very small for $18.99. Do not go here if you want quality food for the high prices. They definitely skimped out on that portion of steak.
I really wish this restaurant had a collective clue. The inexperienced and nervous staff all pool together at the service area like a school of nervous fish while diners look around longingly for the basics. We were a party of 4 seated with only 2 sets of flatware. Asking after food was served we waited while the person who dropped out appetizer disappeared. We were also served an appetizer with no plates to share it on. Our original order of meatballs were "not ready" and we were asked to choose something else. The "sloppy joe" sliders were dry, crumbly and tasteless. My "Tuna Nicoise" salad was bland and missing the standard green beans, potatoes and dressing of any kind. My kids were served an uninspired panini that may have had a single slice of deli ham. And despite their sharing it, no additional plate was offered. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. And to top it off we were subjected to unappreciated piped in pop music while a live jazz band played beautifully next door on the adjacent patio. Shoes owners-please train your youthful staff, give people decent food at the prices you charge - and when your neighbor plays better music, have the awareness to turn off your radio and let your diners enjoy by proxy.
