Ruth's Chris Steak House - Tyson's Corner
Terrible. We used to view Ruth's Chris as a place for special occasions. This was the third time we've been there for Mother's Day. However this time we were very disappointed with the service. The Management had clearly allowed the restaurant to be way overbooked. The staff could not keep up at all. We had a reservation, but still waited almost 40 minutes to be seated.
Stood at the bar, ordered a glass of wine - and had to wait almost 15 minutes just for a glass to be washed to pour it into!
Got seated finally, bread and appetizers were timely but sparse. However, the meal didn't arrive until another 40 minutes after the appetizers! A place with a mark-up like Ruth's Chris, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect good, actually above average service. This was service below what I'd expect at a local IHOP or Outback. What a disappointing way to ruin people's special occasions.
Our family went there to celebrate mother's day. We have to wait long time and change meals 3 times because we were informed by a waiter that the meal we ordered were out of stock.
Food from salad, to appetizers, to side dishes and entrees was excellent. Our Reservation was for 6 people at 7 PM. We were seated within 35 minutes so no complaints about that because it was a busy Mothers day. The wait staff tried hard, but were obviously stressed and too busy to offer competent and gracious service. I did not reduce the tip from my usual 20 percent because I think the service snafus were the result of poor organization of the staff by those in charge. The restaurant was very busy because of Mothers Day crowd. More organization and a few more waiters were needed. The food was superb and everyone tried hard so we left thinking we will definitely come back, but not on a holiday.
We were 10 minutes early for our 6:15pm reservation and was seated close to 7pm. The table was next to the kitchen and was very noisy. We ordered a rib eye medium and it came rare. We sent it back and all they did was put recook it and it was more done than medium. The filet was over cooked and not medium.
My fish was good.
We have been to this Ruth’s Chris many times and it normally is very good. This is the second holiday visit we had here and both were very poor. The first holiday was a Thanksgiving and it was just like this Mother’s Day experience, not good. So this tells me do not go to Ruth’s Chris for holiday meals.
Service is always top notch. Went for mothers day and the treated my wife and her mother so well... it is all the little touches (e.g. roses for all mothers on mothers day) that makes it a completely enjoyable event.
It was a great Mother's Day lunch with the family. Thank you!
This was a birthday party hosted by a friend, in a smallish room, some 15 people. It was a very noisy room, but still really very nice. I had the Chilean sea bass and found it both too salted and slightly fishy tasting, as did someone else who had ordered it. The steaks were great, as expected. It was a very nice event and none of what I say here would stop me from returning to this restaurant because overall the restaurant has proven the be quite good otherwise.
Friends got together to celebrate our friend’s 80th birthday. Everyone selected different items from the lunch menu and all were great. Izzi provided outstanding service and picked up on the fact that we were there to celebrate a special birthday (not mentioned in reservation) and helped make the day even more special. Cannot beat Ruth’s Chris!
Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere! We will return to this location, the best restaurant in the area!
Great food every single time!
Izzat was great server good atmosphere and food was excellent.
It was a celebration. I was disappointed that after we were initially seated it took a good 7 minutes before s waiter came. As well as when we placed the appetizer order he never submitted and we had to remind him twice. The food was great!
One of my Top 5 Favorite Restaurants
Atmosphere was perfect. Anniversary was acknowledged and celebrated. Like how the tables are separated so you don’t hear other conversations. All staff professional.
Excellent in every respect
I frequent the steakhouse because I love it there. My waiters are ALWAYS pleasant and courteous. My family and friends all go at least 3 times 4 times a year.
I am indeed a fan of Ruth Chris
Ezett is a wonderful server. Great place for our Birthday celebrations. As always food was wonderful.
Steaks were grossly under cooked. As were scalloped potatoes.
I made reservation and asked for a quiet table. my quest has a very soft voice. I arrived 30 min early and again asked for a quiet table and was told they had it on hold. Went to the bar and waited for guest. When arrived we were seated next to a VERY loud group of men. I requested another table, there were plenty open. I was told that it couldn't be accommodated because there were many large groups in the dinning room. I complained. Manager was sent to table and repeated story. Was finally offered a table in the hallway. Still plenty of other open tables in the dinning room and bar area. We ended up shouting at each other over our meal. I"m a long time RC customer. Usually eat at the Fairfax location, a GREAT restaurant. I'm extremely disappointed in the treatment we received. I will not return to this location again. Michael Saunders
The experience was superb, as expected. We went to celebrate my birthday and it had been a while since our last visit. Everyone from the Hostess to our Waiter (Eric) provided excellent service. The food was amazing, as always but when you haven't been for a little while, it is good to return (to a favorite spot) and simply have outstanding service. This is why we LOVE the Tyson's Corner Ruth's Chris location. They also have the best Blueberry Mojito!!!
Lighting was too dim
Our server was very kind and tentative to us. However, Entree was mediocre because my steak was ridiculously horrible and tasted like it was over cooked like a steak you would get out of the trash🤢...plating needs work (food was really messy on the plate) On the more positive side I would say the highlight of the night was the bomb drinks our waiter made, the lobster Mac (came back a few days later and ordered but it got me real sick and I spent about an hour in the BR😷).....the sweet potato casserole was delicious (would definitely recommend). All in all to me this restaurant is only good for the sides which are ridiculously over priced for the amount you get and you have to take your chances with the getting sick part.
Lovely birthday celebration that felt so special. They decorated the table and presented me a rose with dessert.
Food excellent, as always, and love the luncheon special for $31.95 ... such a great value and so much that even can take some home. Server was efficient but lacked personality ... not a big deal but this was the second time he has waited on us and both tines were the same. Food makes up for it so not that big if a deal but kind of unusual.
They've consistently been a go-to spot for a wonderful meal with great service and the perfect setting. Quality of beef is the best IMO. One of my favorites for years. Go RUTH!
Well, valet was the best part of the whole experience: quick and courteous. Then one hostess told me I’d need to remove my hat (British driving style cap) once seated, and she was abruptly corrected with “No! He has to take it off before going in the dining room!” Okay, no worries, but the last Ruth’s Chris I went had a noisy family of 6 next us- all in sweatpants and sweatshirts. If you have a dress code, post it and stick to it. The service was kind and professional. However, my son’s medium-well filet was really well done without a hint of pink in the middle. My wife’s, on the other hand, was also ordered medium-well pretty much came out medium-rare! Come on, isn’t what Ruth’s does for their existence? I ordered the red snapper with coconut rice, and it was okay at best. It was most surprising because it was more expensive than the filet. Then there were the sautéed mushrooms, which are usually very lightly seasoned. I don’t know if or when they changed the recipe, but these were in a thick, rich, and very salty sauce. So, all in all, not a good experience, and certainly not what I’ve come to expect from Ruth’s Chris.
So, did I say anything about these issues to the waiter or manager? No... because I was never asked how things were. Not “Are the filets cooked to your liking?”, or “Did everything come out alright?” - Nothing! Not going back to this location, and not in a hurry to go to another.
Save your money, go to one of the other steak houses in the area.
Awesome experience and a great evening out for my wife’s birthday! The food was delicious and the drinks were very tasty.
Nothing ever disappoints about Ruth's. The service and the dining room are always top notch....and the steak? We there'll always be haters but for my money (which I did spend there) it's the best around!
You again made the special occasion very special for my parent's anniversary! My husband and I always bring our parents to your restaurant on their birthdays and anniversaries. I ordered the filet mignon medium rare. After a couple of bites, I realized the steak was cooked medium well. The server was very professional and ordered a new filet which was cooked perfectly. Thank you for your high standards!
Excellent atmosphere and the price for the food was good.
Food and service were wonderful. Our waiter, Jerry, was especially good.
The service was very poor and slow. Got there early to an almost empty restaurant but still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. The complimentary valet was nowhere to be found at the end of our dinner. The bottle of wine that was ordered when we sat down took 15 minutes to get. The steak that was ordered medium came out basically rare. I will not be returning to this location.
Every item we tasted from the appetizers to the main courses were outstanding. Our only complaint is that we had a 7:30 reservation and we were not seated until 8:45. The nice thing is that the Manager comped our cocktails at the bar, where we waited patiently, and provided us with two complimentary appetizers. other than that, it was a very solid experience.
Food and service were impeccable as usual
This Chain has much higher reputation than this particular location and in comparison to the other Ruth’s Chris. The ambiance was not impressive for where we were seated to the noise level. In general, we had higher expectations and this location failed to deliver, I doubt I would ever go to another Ruth’s Chris again.
Perfect restaurant for a special occasion. Spent Valentines with my wife and even brought the kids. I recommend Ruth’s Chris to any steak & seafood lover.
Fantastic, great and personalized service and as always the food was perfection
This was a wonderful experience by all three of us. I was treating two of my dearest friends to birthday dinner. Everything was perfect! The service, atmosphere, food, presentation..... The atmosphere was relaxing, but elegant. We all had the classic ribeye which was done to perfection as well as the potatoes au gratin and the asparagus. The cheesecake dessert was huge and delectable. We will talk about this dining experience for a long time!
