Casa 46 has a great view of Plaza Machado at night. Quiet atmosphere and nice ambience. The food was very tasty but was served luke warm. I do not understand why that was. Staff were responsive when called upon but not very friendly. Our group may consider another dinner to see if they can improve upon food temperature.
Wonderful setting with superb food and service. Meal complicated by a 20 minute power outage in the building. They have excellent dinner entertainment (singer named Arsenio) but it tended to be overwhelmed by noise from the Plazuela Machado, which has it's own entertainment.
This was our fifth trip to Casa 46 and our hope for it is fading. First, the food is truly superb but the service is terrible and has not improved. We waited, again, for almost two hours for our entrée. Something just does not work in the kitchen/service organization although they could also use more wait staff. We keep returning for the romantic location and food but the frustration of endless waiting and unresponsiveness is out weighing the pleasures.
We enjoyed our dinner at Casa 46. It wasn’t very busy so we had lots of attention from the servers. We dined outside overlooking the plaza. The food was tasty.. shrimp and red snapper and the wine was excellent as well. Loved the sponge cake dessert!!
We went to Casa 46 during Carnavale on Mardi Gras so the noise level was high. The view from the balcony table over Machado Square with all of the Carnavale activities was great. The service and meal were very good making the evening one of our best in Mazatlán.
A truly wonderful menu. You have to try the mushroom cappuccino. It is to die for!
Service is top quality.
Delicious, beautifully presented food. We sat outside on the terrace overlooking the old town square (Machado). The only downside was the cacophony between the singer in the restaurant and the loud saxophonist in the square. The outstanding food more than made up for it!
Food was very good, as was the service. The setting should have been brilliant on a balcony overlooking the plaza but was spoiled by an excessively loud jazz saxophonist from an adjoining cafe which drowned out the live music in casa 46. Disappointing - apparently the adjoining live music is several nights a week
The food was interesting as well as outstanding. In my,opinion the best restaurant in Mazatlan.
Extraordinario servicio.
Duda alguna
We've had a vacation home in Mazatlán for 30 years. As a result, we know virtually all the restaurants. We have been so excited to see Mazatlán develop into a real vacation destination insofar as food and ambiance are concerned. Over the past two years, we've sampled the new, upscale places and Casa 46 is our favorite. We at there twice for dinner over Christmas vacation - once before and once after eating at Presidio. The service is impeccable; the food is creative (e.g., mushroom foie gras cappuccino) and memorable (pork shank sous vide confit). It reminds us so much of our favorite Washington, D.C. restaurant: the late Michel Richard's Citronelle, except that it has a more exciting location and view. As to value, a great meal, plus wine, at Casa 46 costs in total about what an appetizer used to cost at Citronelle! Keep up the good work and we'll be back time after time.
Best restaurant we have experienced in a long time..
Everything exceptionally perfect...
Off the charts great. Awesome food prepared by chef Maganda. Highly recommend the mushroom cappuccino. Luis Parra, restaurant manager, is on top of everything and makes sure his clients are well taken care off. The well trained staff did a great job. Background music by Arsenio was wonderful. We are going back next week.
food cold, serving size small, wine overpriced, bad music. Staff was very good.
Exelente buen ambiente la música muy buena.
La comida diferente y las bebidas divinas
Casa 46 is an outstanding restaurant in a beautiful setting. The food, service, ambiance were all amazing. We had a party of 10 and all agreed that it is the best restaurant in Mazatlan. We will return again next year.
Servicio medio.
We live in Mazatlan part time and we were excited to discover another relatively new restaurant. The location is fantastic, the staff are lovely and the wine list has a reasonable selection. The food however needs improvement. My husband had the grilled octopus appetizer and it was pretty good but not really sure if it was fresh as there were bits that looked deep fried. My beet salad was delicious. The main course was a bit of a disaster. The braised pork shank was awful - it looked and tasted like it had been sitting since yesterday. It was dry and inedible. My shrimp came back blistering hot and they were good but nothing out f the ordinary. The staff were kind enough to take the pork off the bill but at the end of the day we were both very disappointed. The food needs work.
The food was some of the most delicious I've tasted in a long, long time. The view is beautiful and I can't wait to go back.
Excelente ubicación, comida y servicio de lujo e instalaciones de lujo.
Atmosphere was excellent overlooking the plaza. Service was excellent. Food was average.
Excellent food, view and service. Strong dollar makes the price reasonable for fine dining. Best in Mazatlan.
His restaurant had fabulous food, high quality, plated with perfection. The price was great (especially if you are from the US). We had a great bottle of wine, the crab cake appetizer, the chowder, the braised short ribs, and the sea bass. Our total bill was around $80, in the US, we would have easily paid double.
Excelente servicio, saftisfecho con el menu! Totalmente recomendado!.
Wonderful ambience and food! Liked it so much that we tried to get another reservation a few days later but they were booked. Definitely makes for a special dinner if you are in Mazatlan.
On two prior occasions, in the Spring of 2016 - we experienced excellent service, food + presentation - expensive for Maz but worth it.
Not the case on the last visit. On the day after Christmas we went with another couple and had poor service and so-so food. This is a pricey restaurant that does not allow shorts/sandals/children. At half the price the food/service may be acceptable.
Service - We were placed at the centre of the upper balcony with a great view of the Plaza (especially with the Xmas lights.)
Staff was concentrated at either end with no one having time to deal with us in the centre. No one spoke to us for over 30 minutes until I went to ask if anyone was going to give us a menu or take a drink order.
We ordered the "46" cocktail with tequila/Gran Marnier and French Champagne - seemed heavier than in the past two times and I suspect the bartender may not have used the brand names advertised or was short on the bubbly or the bubbly was from the night before and was flat/boring.
Food: cooking in Mazatlan often involves the overuse of salt. Not so in Casa 46 - unfortunately, this time, their "go to" spice was sugar.
Roasted Octopus -tasty and nicely cooked, no complaints.
Crab Chilorio - OK but too sweet.
Corn chowder - Good. You could taste corn but the predominant spice was sugar.
Beef Tenderloin - good sized pc of meat nicely cooked on a puree bed (supposed to be fennel) but the predominant spice was sugar. The marrow was the size of my thumbnail and did not look like it came out of a bone such as the one they used in the photo.
Chicken breast on puree - they gave a large breast but it was slightly dry. It was sitting on a puree where the predominant spice was sugar with one small piece of broccoli on the side.
PS the food photos on the site are misleading.
I love Casa 46. I was very happy to be seated outside on the balcony overlooking Plaza Machado. the plaza was lit up and decorated for Christmas. It was lovely, just lovely. The restaurant building is charming with some vintage and some modern spaces. The food!! oh the food is great. We tried 4 items, not a single one disappointed us. My husband and I had the best time and one of the nicest meals ever. If you don't go there, you'll be sorry. We had great servers, and, best for me, most of them spoke English very well.
Mi platillo estuvo muy desabrido no tenía sazón! Y que mal que no halla internet abierto 👎🏻
