Tomo pizzeria and restaurant calificaciones y reseñas
First time at Tomo- although it's only down the road. Had seen the reviews and heard about the awards- and it lived up to expectations. War, cosy atmosphere, really lovely staff and delicious fresh, authentic Italian food. Drank the lovely sicilian nero d'avola, and can't wait to go back!
We discovered Tomo through OpenTable, and what a discovery it is! A genuine family-run trattoria offering genuinely delicious food.
The menu is small enough to ensure everything is freshly cooked, but wide enough to give a good selection of pasta, pizza and other main courses. The sausage fusilli was everything you would want, al dente pasta transporting a rich tomatoey sauce and generous chunks of really tasty salscicci. But beware the spicy Calabrian 'sausage' if you aren't a fan of major heat — it seemed to consist almost entirely of chilli paste.
The restaurant is tiny, but always full, but the service is excellent and staff knowledgable about the dishes. A major find. We've already been back several times
Our second visit to Tomo did not disappoint: the welcome was as warm as the first time and the food just as deliciously authentic. The garlic bread with tomato sauce had to be ordered a second time! Other starters included fontina-stuffed baby aubergines, which were surprisingly daintily presented (although no less tasty for it); portions here are usually very generous. Three of us had the vitello special which was very rich but all our plates were left spotless nonetheless. An excellent spaghetti bolognese was declared equally delicious. Unsurprisingly we were unable to find any room for dessert but did manage to squeeze in three bottles of a very good value Sicilian Nero d'avola. I'm sure we would be eating at Tomo more frequently if we lived closer to it!
Very close to where I live and a REALl Italian restaurant. There are now very few left in London.
The 'chains' have taken over, all the great Italian restaurants in Soho no longer exist.
We are very lucky in my area, borders of Crouch End and Hornsey to have this little rem. Reasonable prices too.
Read all the reviews and came here with high expectations on Valentine's Day. The restaurant wasn't very busy but they seated us at a table squashed between the wall and another group even though other tables were free, the food choice was great and both my pizza and my partners pasta dish were brilliant but the service I was expecting lacked throughout which I believe was because they forgot about us due to where we were seated as I saw them caring for other diners but we were left waiting to pay when we wanted to leave, overall I'd say 3/5. It was a nice restaurant but we came with higher expectations and left finding it as very average
Tomo came highly recommended to me by a friend and more than lived up to my expectations.
We had the one of the specials and the vongole both of which were full of flavor and healthy portion sizes. We will definitely return to try all the other dishes on the menu
Real Italian restaurant, Nduja pizza was to die for, so was melanzana alla parmigiana. My partner had bread with olive oil to start and then beetroot salad with goats cheese, which she thought was good. A bottle of Barbera wine was excellent too. And we closed with cafe and a grappa. Look forward to next time and to trying their pasta and to meet the lovely Italian staff again ..
