Worth the 4 week wait. The staff was friendly and helpful when we asked for recommendations. The food was amazing! We had the cauliflower, bone marrow, sausage pizza, and the ragú pasta. The pasta wasn't super impressive, but it wasn't bad. The lemon cake and donuts were great. The $30 corkage fee is worth it if you're planning on ordering more than 2 glasses of wine (drinks are on the pricier side). Can't wait to go back soon!
Service is excellent as there are many waiter and waitresses nearby to help out. Ambiance is great for date nite. Overall food was excellent, the only disappointment was the clam pizza. (No flavor to the pizza). I highly recommend the chicken gizzard. We ordered it on a dare. I did not think it would be good but words cannot express how great it really is. Best thing here besides the drinks.
I wish they had the Lobster crostini!! The dessert was amazing and of course the bone marrow. I would not do the scrambled egg with truffle that was just not worth it... Branzino is a must but I wish they had the Lamb Neck!
I am coming again Bestia!
The food was good and decently priced and the atmosphere was great as well.
My biggest issue was our waiter and several other runners constantly telling us how to eat our food and sounding generally condescending about it, which is what overall ruined the night.
The food was good, ambience was great. The service was just OK. We waiting for 20 minutes after being seated to be asked if we wanted to order dinner or drinks and I found myself always looking around the room to flag down our waiter.
While the food and wine was really good, I'm not sure it justifies the 3 month wait and hefty bill.
Really admire the concept, food, ambiance and service. Everybody is working together to ensure an amaizing time! You definetly forget where you are with this trendy New Yorker style! Food was just very tasty and creative! Great variety of wines!! Prices and charges are just as equal as the experience the whole place provides to you! Two thumbs up and bravo to chef and management for a well defined concept! Best thing of the night: Bone Marrow!!
The food was excellent, the pasta was just a bit small for a serving, especially since they encourage sharing the meals. Cocktails were very nice. Wine was priced so high, I didn't even consider.
The noise level was extremely high. It required a great deal of energy to maintain a conversation at the table.
May go again when during off hours, when fewer people are present.
Bestia is the best restaurant in Los Angeles, hands down. When you weigh everything -- the food, the portion size, the wine list and cocktail menu, the quality of the service, the ambiance, the atmosphere, the energy -- there's just no other place in Los Angeles that holds a candle to Bestia. My wife and I have been to Bestia a handful of times now and we are consistently blown away every single time. If you've never been, stop what you're doing and make every effort to snag this difficult reservation, because it will change your perspective on where to find the best restaurant in LA.
It's a very interesting restaurant to try in LA. The cocktail menu is very well made. I loved the Old Fashioned. The food was very well crafted and fresh. It's not the type of place to go often, but every once in a while. would worth to pay a visit.
I came here for my birthday celebration because they have received excellent reviews since opening. We were running late because traffic was terrible but they were impossible to get a hold of via telephone. I was on hold for 15 minutes and a recorded directory answers your call. They are booked months in advance and I was lucky to get a reservation but I don't really understand the hype after eating the food. I should note that the people working there were all very, very nice. Our server was great. Unfortunately, the pizza was extremely salty and more soggy than I would have liked. The pasta was flavorful but I've had better for sure. I personally did not like the texture as it was much too al dente to me. The lobster crostini was mediocre and definitely not worth $19. The donuts for dessert were good, I thought, but my friend said it was pretty mediocre to her because of the texture. They weren't very fluffy. Considering this was my birthday I was pretty disappointed but now I know. I highly recommend these other restaurants instead: The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker, Odys & Penelope, The Factory Kitchen, or Gjelina.
Our server, think his name was DJ based on our check but can't swear to it, was awesome. Super knowledgeable, never felt rushed even though the restaurant was super busy. My husband and I both work in restaurants so we notice these things. Food was great but service is what put it over the top. Definitely recommend.
There is a reason this place is always packed and reservations must be months ahead. The food is simply delicious, the service attentive, the staff so knowledgeable and down to earth. I have been here twice. both times, I left the place wanting to come back. these people know what they are doing. the food is just out of the world amazing.
Not as creative as I would have hoped for. We went to Bestia just about a year ago, and the menu has barely changed -- as in, the menu itself has not changed much, but the way they prepare the food has slightly changed. For example, the single raviolo used to be presented in the form of pappardelle, but otherwise the sauce and everything else & taste, remain the same. For a restaurant that requires reservations months in advance, I am not impressed with the lack of creativity. Don't plan to go again if the menu doesn't get more creative/different.
Great meal!!! The food was fantastic. Not crazy about being seated at a sticky table with very uncomfortable chairs. We were told the finish was defective so the table was permanently sticky. The host quickly changed our table to a very comfy non-sticky location. Very strong finish...
