Service and food were excellent BUT we were there for a special occasion with friends who drove up from La Jolla and we got THE worst table ever. Around the corner and away from everyone else facing a wall near the restroom. And after expressing a few weeks back that it was for a special birthday. My friends were already seated or I would have demanded a better table- it's too bad because everything else was perfect. It will give us pause next time we're choosing a great place to go.

Man a table at the edge of the terrace and see downtown LA ahead of below you. Spectacular. Seated immediately at put reservation time, no attitude, food delicious to boot. Great experience.

My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday in LA. I searched restaurants with a view and Perch came up. You can't see the restaurant from the street outside, but as soon as you walk into the building, the building's concierge leas you to the elvator. You have to take two: the first to the 13th floor, and the second to the 15th where the dining area is. The rooftop bar is on the 16th.
The ambience is lively with oversized couches and a busy bar and small tables out on the glass enclosed porch. The weather was amazing and the hostess seated us outside.
I ordered the Steak Frites and my boufriend ordered the Filet Mignon. Both were delicious - my Steak Frites was special.
Our mixed drinks were also phenomenal.
Overall, was very happy with our experience. The view was outstanding. You are truly within the buildings.

I chose Perch as the location for my mother's birthday. The staff were attentive and made sure that she felt special. The view, of course, was amazing. But to top it off, there was a small performance led by a singing with an immaculate voice singing throughout our dinner. You can't beat a night like that!

Food and service was spectacular. This was our second visit, somehow this visit surpassed our first. Pork belly, braised short rib, and rib eye were all outstanding!

We come here every other week, and this visit was great and enjoyable as usual. Traffic was terrible and we were late, the host graciously changed our time so we didn't lose our reservation.

Perch was in a word, fantastic. We ordered 6 things and 5 of them were to die for. The mushroom risotto was merely good. Charcuterie plate and all beef entree's highly recommended. The chocolate pot De creme was everything we could have hoped for as a meal capstone. Perch provided us with an amazing experience and amazing food. Must try.

I had a great time. My server was hilarious and a great time. It was raining so I didn't get the FULL Perch experience, however they had a covering so you still were able to have a view. I can't wait to come on a sunny day during the summer or a warm summer night. I love Perch and will be back 😊

EXPERIENCE IS ALWAY POSITIVE. THE FOOD WAS NOT CONSISTENT IN FLAVOR AND TEXTURE AS OTHER TIMES (SPECIFICALLY THE BREAD PUDDING). THE RAIN WAS AN INCONVENIENCE (WE DINED OUT SIDE) AND WE HAD TO REQUEST ASSISTANCE WITH THE WEATHER VERSUS BEING AUTOMATICALLY ATTENDED.

Food was expensive, but that was to be expected. My friends and I were very disappointed we were unable to order the pitcher of sangria because I guess that was out by mid Sunday.

The service was very polite. You may not expect that at such a hipster destination and one that is booked out far in advance.

In my opinion, Perch is overrated. You're paying for the view, not the food. I had the filet mignon and at $37 I was left underwhelmed. The flavors were rather muted and the side dishes didn't add any excitement. They were asparagus and mashed potatoes; the asparagus didn't have much flavor and the potatoes were just as bland. I will give the kitchen props for the preparation as everything was cooked to perfection. Besides the food, the service was subpar. The server didn't even bother to engage with us in the slightest. Furthermore, it was noted on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, yet no gesture was made. While this isn't a necessity, a restaurant of this caliber should make it a priority. Overall, the view was stunning, but it's not worth the lacking service and subpar food. There are other restaurants with the same aesthetic that is well worth the expense.

Regardless of the restaurant, the wait staff makes the place. Our waiter Paul was great. He listened to our meal needs and communicated them with the kitchen staff. He was really personable, but not schmarmy or patronizing like some waiters can be in establishments like Perch. I would definitely ask to sit in his section in the future. Food was great (based on Paul's recommendation) and the drinks top-notch. Also had a great live band, but I failed to get its name.

The moment we stepped in the hosts were instantly rude and I knew we were off to a bad start. I walked up let them know we had a reservation very politely I may add, and both continued talking to each other until one of them turned and asked "Can I help you?". They finally took my name and informed me they were getting my table ready. Standing right in front of him, one of the host yelled out my name (which by the way was not even correct even though I had just said it a mere 30 seconds ago). He chose to yell it out twice even though he clearly could see me standing awkwardly waving a hand at him. The girl who walked us to our table didn't even say a word to us-at all. Honestly those first five minutes really dampened our experience, the rest of the meal was without issue but we wouldn't stop by again.

I took my wife here for our 17th wedding anniversary. I found this place by chance while moving around a Google Map of DTLA. I didn't read any reviews or anything, which would normally be considered a mistake. I chose this restaurant specifically because of the rooftop dining and view of DTLA and was merely hoping for a decent meal. It turns out we were in for an AMAZING meal! Everything was decadently rich and masterfully prepared and presented. The service was excellent and the ambience was very classy.
Specifically for my experience, I asked for a table with a great view for our occasion. Perch delivered on that request in spades. We were seated at a table on the outside terrace right next to the fireplace with a straight-on view of the LA skyline. It was breathtaking and the dining experience only supplemented the night.
Portions are generous and the plate costs strike the right value.
I could not recommend this place more. Please check this one out.

Some of the items are pricier than others, especially considering the portion size. But the ambiance more than makes up for it.

Nice views of the city - request to sit outside but somewhere sunny! Try to sit on the very top floor for a cocktail as well.

Very confusing on how to find the restaurant. The only elevator was the service elevator. Once we got to the 13th floor, we had no idea where the restaurant was located. No signs. No nothing. It took another elevator to get there. There was supposed to be someone there to assist but he must have been on a break. That might explain why the bathroom door was locked. The waiter suggested the aioli fries appetizer. It wasn't very good. The fries were undercooked. The English muffin on the salmon Benedict seemed a little stale. Great view with mediocre food.

The waiter lost my credit card after charging it. I still tipped the waiter, understood it was a mistake, but since calling to check to see if they have found it (they never did) they refused to come my meal. It was a measly 95 bucks and I thought it would be appropriate to do that. I love this place, love the food, but was extremely disappointed in how this was handled.

It was a magical evening at Perch this past Thursday, December 29. We were greeted by a warm and friendly hostess who gave us a spectacular corner table on the outside patio. The view of the city lights and ice skating going on in Pershing Square below was wonderful. A cozy fire burned across from us. Titas, our waiter, was extremely attentive and spot on in recommending a fabulous ginger bourbon cocktail to start off our evening. My date and I split an excellent and ample Caesar salad to start off our meal. He ordered the salmon and I ordered the scallops, and we shared with each other. I found the salmon to be very moist and delicious. I loved the scallops but wish there had been more than 3. The scallops were prepared in a heavenly sauce. We did not try the desserts as we were full from dinner.
It was such a romantic setting. We could visit quietly and had plenty of space between us and the next table. Conversations of others were not overheard. We did not feel rushed to leave in anyway. It couldn't have been more romantic -- it was a perfect evening. At the end of our meal, we both agreed that Perch would definitely be a place that we would return to again. There is something very special about it -- an experience not only in dining but in taking in the wonderful energy and ambience that downtown L.A. provides - a treasure that is right in our own backyard.
We had a 5:45 p.m. reservation -- arrived in the nick of time to meet the 15 minute window. It took us a little longer than estimated to park at the Pershing Square parking lot across the street -- an excellent deal at a $7.00 flat rate.
We were at Perch from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.. It was hard to leave, but we had plans to attend Amelie at the Ahmanson at 8 p.m. We cut it close, making it to our seats inside the theatre at
7:55 p.m. Allow more time if you plan to do the same.
