Still had to wait for 10-15 mins even with the reservation. Food was good. Service was also good. Friendly staff. But everything was taking too long to come
Easy online appointment scheduling.. outstanding customer service from both hostess and waiter.. have already recommended to friends and family... Will definitely be back.. all courses we're delicious.. mojo broth with seafood was awesome.. absolutely made for a fantastic night out for a 12th wedding anniversary!!
Best server we’ve ever had there.
Server dropped the heating unit on my knee. Otherwise a good experience
The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was the perfect girls night out.
Went in halloween night. It wasn't busy at all. The waitress seemed to not be very attentive. It took a long time in between the different plates. We had a reservation for 7:15, we walked out of there at 10pm which was quite crazy. I won't be coming back. I didn't find it to be a good value for the money.
Good evening, my wife and I received your email promotion today ($25 off your bill of $75 min) and decided to take advantage of this for a date night. We live about 30 to 45 minutes away and chose to eat at your restaurant as we have in the past. When we got here the manager who originally was on duty came over to the table was very nice and said he was told from our waiter about this promotion and you’ll make sure everything would be taken care of and was very friendly. When we finished dining, he had left and there was a taller manager on duty who wanted to look at the promotion and he read the email, told me to hold on a few moments left for a few minutes came back and said that he was not aware of this promotion but took two cheese something or another off the bill (Said it was close) … That is not how this works in my opinion, and this is not good business practice to send a promotion honoring some sort of valued coupon and not being able to do that… That’s just poor business practice. It’s not in the few dollars difference it’s the principle behind that.
Erin and Reid were awesome as usual. Our favorite, favorite place!
Birthday dinner was lovely and the service was great
I took my kids and they loved the whole experience! Waiter was fabulous and made good suggestions and was fun with my kids. Great experience!
Great food terrible waitress!
We have been at the Melting Pot Reston many times and loved it. Unfortunately, this time our waitress actitude was completely unacceptable. She was very rude when I asked to switch a pasta option on one of my kids dinner and she continued with her bad actitide for the rest of the night. I give credit to the manager who came to check on us but our waitress really arruined the night for me specially since we were there celebrating my daughter’s birthday. I will think twice before visiting again after our most recent experience.
Pricing is much higher than I remember. Fun experience though and good food. Would reccomended it but it isn’t cheap.
Service was great and we enjoyed our meal as always. Very happy with how the military is treated with the Monday discount. Keep up the GREAT WORK!
Generally good but the new option to grill your meat sucks. Doesn’t work at low heat levels needed for simmering a fondue and the meat needs to be cut much thinner to avoid the 10 minute+ cooking time.
Amazing, as always. It's expensive and calorific, definitely special occasion only, but wonderful.
I love the Melting Pot and go regularly for dates and girls nights. Yum!
Victoria was the best waitress we’ve ever had at a Melting Pot and were very impressed with our night. Can’t wait to come again
Erin was great as usual and had trainee “Q” learning from our fav!
Brian was very knowledgeable of the wines and professional. Corey always knows how to make our experience at The Melting Pot so memorable. Thank you! We will be back again.
Absolutely fantastic! Great idea for a date night
Entree takes way too long to cook. 4 people on 1 grill and it took 30 minutes for each round of steak or shrimp to be cooked. My son kept mixing up raw and cooked utensils. Why not sous vide the meat and let the customer do a final sear?
The Melting Pot is always a solid experience. The menu changes in just the right ways to keep things fresh while keeping the tried-and-true classics. Service is great, ambiance is private and good for conversation, and cooking your own food tableside is always a blast. Very good deal for ladies' night as well.
Birthday. We were told 2+ hours for the 4 course meal. We weren’t prepared for that. I would suggest just doing the cheese and chocolate. Skip the proteins and salad.
Our waiter Zach was great fun. Glad to have the Bananas Foster back on the menu!!!
I haven’t been to the melting pot in years since going vegan. When I found out they can provide a full 4 course vegan meal, I immediately rounded up some friends to check it out. We were not disappointed!! Everything was delicious, our server was knowledgeable, and we can’t wait to go back!
Food is great, the evening is fun, but it’s just too expensive for such small portions, so value takes a hit. It’s also louder than it needs to be for anonymous conversation, so overall just 4 out of 5 stars.
And be prepared to spend an easy 2+ hours on dinner and dessert. This is a long date so make sure you really like with whom you spend it!
We enjoyed the food, but the wait between courses was very long. Also, the restaurant was not very clean. There were left over food or liquid spatters on the booth that was right next to the fondue pot. The floors and certain other areas were noticeably neglected from cleaning.
First time time there Food was great and service was good We had a great time
Service was slow and it was not busy runny cheese sauce they had a new tabletop grill experience starting that did not work well
Some servers had food and stuff all over their clothes at 5:00. It was not appetizing to look at. For the $200 cost for hour people not worth is there are a lot better restaurants in this price point
It was my daughters and mine combined Birthday dinner. It was very nice, as always. Everything was sent to us well, and our waiter was good at explaining what he was doing while he did things. He made sure to get our special requests done quickly and correctly.
The menu seemed confusing.
My wife and I go out every Saturday for date night and have been doing so for 13 years. As you might assume, we have hit a lot of restaurants in the area.
We have been going to the Melting Pot in NOVA for 20+ years, dating back to when it was nearly impossible to find because it was hidden in an office park, in the back to boot. On our last visit, there seemed to be an issue with the hostess providing the server with out ticket. After 15 minutes of waiting for someone to come to our table, I went back to the front station and inquired. Apparently that was the issue, but no apologies, just sheepishly getting the issue corrected. The server seemed a bit agitated and I really did not connect with him during our two hour meal. With that being stated, I have felt that the Melting Pot in NOVA has gotten a bit more "unfriendly" and seems to portray an undertone that they have enough business, so your business is not necessarily a huge concern. I have had several small issues in the past at this location and would do not seem to have similar issues in the other higher end restaurants we patronize.
In the end, it's expensive cheese, proteins and veggies. You are cooking the food, so the service should be outstanding.
Service was great as we celebrated a new job for my son. It was DC restaurant week so the value for the complete dinner was excellent. We have always celebrated our birthdays at the Melting Pot and we were happy to return for another special occasion.
We visited during Restaurant Week and got the four course tasting menu. Fantastic for everyone and they were so good at letting you pick what you wanted. Sometimes restaurants steer you to less desirable options on their tasting menus or specials burn or here. Everyone felt like they could choose what they wanted with no problem.
Only concern would be that it was a bit too dark. We were in a part of the restaurant that didn't have any direct window lighting and the small light at the table was not sufficient to provide the lighting needed to read the menu and see well. We were able to use our cell phone flashlights but a little less ambiance and a little more light would be good.
The Melting Pot never disappoints, and our first visit to the Reston location was no different. I enjoyed the layout of the restaurant and the option to sit at smaller tables for 2 people. It was really nice for an intimate dinner for 2. We were there for Restaurant Week and the deals were great! We will definitely be back.
Always a great experience at the Reston location!
Some of the meats weren’t great(don’t waste your time on the chicken) but the overall experience was awesome. The whole group had a lot of fun. The dessert part was so good, I’d go back just for that. Our waitress was good but the whole evening took a long time so if you go be prepared to make a night of it.
Service was extremely slow. The bartender couldn’t keep up with drink orders. Our waitress was so very friendly and kind to us but she must’ve been given two other wait staff’s tables as that young lady was bookin all over the place. I actually had to raise my hand to get water refilled and more drinks.
We asked for more broth and the manager actually poured boiling water into the pot. Yes, the rest of our meal was very bland.
The front reception group of kids were so not interested in their jobs. They honestly didn’t know what to do when one of the kids left to go elsewhere.
Get yourself together, Reston. I paid $200 for a celebratory meal and my guest was soooo let down. He went without a drink refill for about 30 min. Then we had boiling water to cook our meat. I was apologetic to him but I also had no idea it would be like that. I was so embarrassed.
Alex was awesome with service! We had an awesome anniversary dinner! Thank you!!!
We had a very enjoyable time at the Melting Pot on Thursday, 8/16. Unfortunately, I do not remember our server's name, but she was FANTASTIC! She was very attentive to our needs, took the time to talk about our lives with us, and gave us a very sweet message on our plate during dessert which showed how much she listened and cared. Thank you for a fantastic evening!
