Kona Grill - El Paso
Over priced and the food was sub par. Something as simple as receiving the appetizer before the meal was not executed. The Vegas sushi roll looked like if it had been rolled over by a truck. The order was not brought to the table in unison but rather sporadically over 4 minutes. The buffalo chicken was nothing but breading. Definitely not worth the price when they are surrounded by better options at this location (The Fountains at Farah, El Paso, Tx)
OMG!!!! The food is great!! The atmosphere is fantastic!! It was my first time there but will surely return..........soon !!!
Awesome place!!! Love the atmosphere and the food!!!
Excellent food! The Sea Bass with Coconut curry was perfect. Our table was seated very close to the hostess counter so there was a lot of traffic, but the service was good.
I couldn’t hear my server. She spoke too softly!
The restaurant was buzzing with happy guests.
Hostess had a great sense of humor and was super pleasant. Quick greet by server who was very friendly and enthusiastic. He nailed all of his service steps. The manager, Sal, was so pleasant, professional and accommodating. The food was delicious and prompt.
Definitely will be returning.
The food, service, and atmosphere was perfect. The Picasso Roll was the best thing I ate there. The avocado rolls were delicious and the sauce that accompanied the dish was amazing. I had the Basil Pesto Linguine which was fantastic and had quite the kick. Overall the food and the restaurant was a great experience!
Reservation didn’t matter, we still waited over an hour to get a table. Server was a bit slow. Food was good.
I was expecting a betterr experience. I could get better service and better food for a fraction of what I paid at Kona.
Awesome decor and the space between tables and booths are sufficient. Patio seating is a plus.
Understaffed for the number of customers they had (they could have put a couple of the hostesses to work assisting servers). Design shows little consideration for acoustics — horribly noisy. Food was so-so, nothing to rave about.
The food is always good and consistent. We just celebrated my husband’s 29th Birthday and we know where the next birthday will be spent. Our online request where granted, the girl (I wish I remembered her name) that sang happy birthday did a beautiful job. It wasn’t a traditional happy birthday embarrassing song, it was a beautiful opera. Nothing but good things about Kona. Food is delicious, staff are always kind and attentive and the ambiance is always perfect even with the kids.
Always a good experience at Kona!
Service was not at the expected level for a place like this. Wine service was poor, food took longer than expected after ordering. Salads came out at different times. Waters were refilled but mostly after asking for it.
If you get a good server, the experience may be better.
Excelente hostess and server. We were sat in minutos with no waiting. Our server offered some appetizers without asking her. Fast service
The reservation process is convenient.
The seating upholstery was torn and tattered.
Appetizers were prompt and we were happy with the choices.
Two out of the six guests we okay with their entree. The remaining four we're not. One entree was very cold. The chef recooked it. It was apparent that the staff is hard working, but inefficient.
I have dined at this restaurant in the past and this visit was a disappointing experience.
Food was okay. They told us that they had a different chef.
My dinner experience was superb. I have visited the Kona Grill before and the experience was excellent as well. Always a great choice!
For our end of year business office celebration, we took advantage of the $5 apps and rolls during happy hour and we couldn't have been more impressed. The food was delicious! And though the waitress was a bit on the slow side, she was the only one there so it wasn't her fault. She was also very pleasant and checked on us often. I recommend the Vegas Roll, the California roll, Avocado egg rolls and sliders. My company enjoyed Margaritas and Mojitos as beverages, and they were delighted. A great choice for nearly any occasion.
We’ve been to this restaurant many times but the staff seemed overwhelmed this time. Our server let our food sit under the warmers for a while ( we were sitting in front of the warmers) and as a result I received a chewy dry steak. My wife said her sushi was okay but it also sat near the warmers for a while. We did get our drinks refilled once only towards the end of the meal.
Had a 1st date and was impressed in the fact you could make a reservation if you dont want to wait.
The food is perfect..
Our waiter was amazing went over the menu. Gave options on different entrees. Would really recommend this for a 1st date or just to have a romantic dinner.
I love Kona, the food and service were great.
Food was okay. The service same, waitress kept getting stuff wrong like meals and drinks but was nice
I ordered the beef stir fry. The vegetables were seasoned but the meat was not and it was tough, small square pieces and very little meat. The jasmine rice was not seasoned and very dry. The chef should of added butter to the rice when it was cooking so it wouldn't of been so dry and sticky, and salt. The waiter, Kevin, was extremely good! That is the only reason why I didn't complain about my food.
The hostesses were not welcoming. They gave the impression that were bothered that we were there. They sat us then made us move tables after we had ordered drinks. The food was “Ok”. We had trouble getting drink refills several times. We had reservations for 6:00pm. It was not extremely busy. It just felt like nobody cared if we were there or not. I don’t think I will every eat here again. Very disappointed
Neglected by the waitress and the restaurant was not full, at all. Food did not come out together, constant apologies for bad service.
My date’s chicken was undercooked. She didn’t want another plate or anything. She just asked that the waiter alert the cook(s)/chef(s). The waiter had no idea what to do. Simple request in our opinion. Anyway, not a great food spot, but the drinks and atmosphere was good.
Salmon poke bowl was a bit fishy and there was way too much sauce.
Great food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. I always try something new and am never disappointed.
During my visit, I tried their new brunch menu. It was delicious. I never have a bad experience here. They always take care of us and the food is always delicious.
Pretty noisy acoustics inside, best conversation outside tables. Salmon, carrots and rice”fried”.... EXCELLENT. Moscow mule great ( no margaritas but this was even better)
I love Kona! My husband and I had been to Kona a lot of times. We love the variety of menu. It’s actually one of the few restaurants in El Paso that serves good sushi. I had brought my friends too for happy hour! We would definitely keep coming back.
Went here based on good experiences from prior visits to celebrate a birthday and it was bad. Started out fine but then there was a fly inside the soy sauce that came out into our soy sauce trays for our sushi. Diminished our appetite for sure. When I unraveled my napkin, the utensils had food pieces stuck on it. The kids meals came out about 30 min after we ordered and the sushi took 45 minutes to come out. We were starving. To top it off, the birthday dessert never came out and they didn’t even mention it. Like I said, we normally had great experiences here but this was awful...
Service was great and staff was friendly. Food was excellent and prices were good. Nice portion sized plates and sides. Will definitely go back.
The manager was rude and nasty. Had an attitude when seating us, did not apologize for steak that was prepared incorrectly, and she appeared to be snearing at us on the way out.
Overall, very satisfied with the food and experience.
Food was great, server was very nice, and having a reservation we didn’t have to wait long at all.
First time there, will definately visit Kona again. The food was awesome, well worth the price. Reservation was honored and on-time. Our server did a great job and we never had to look for him, he was aleays ready with refills, helped with questions we had about the menu, and was friendly and courteous.
