Overall, it is a nice place. The service is a bit slow. We asked for recommendations and the waiter was a bit surprised as if it is not his business. Food is average, not bad but nothing spectacular either. They could push further the Italian positioning by offering truly authentic dishes and move away from standard salmon/lamb menu.
Fabulous food in a buzzy atmosphere. We had to wait a little longer for service than one would expect, but they were very apologetic (they noticed it, rather than us complaining) and gave us a free dessert to compensate. The food is of very high quality and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Lovely place. Only intended to go for dinner but had cocktails in the bar before and after because it was so nice.... emerged 5 hours later.
Catered well for gluten free. Staff were charming, helpful and efficient. Food was delicious (favourite dish was the squid antipasti... amazing sauce). Cocktails were great (Bambino and Fleur du Mal were my favourite). Really nice setting upstairs in the restaurant - high ceilings and a nice level of buzz whilst still being able to hear each other talk easily. Downstairs bar was really cosy too. On the pricey side so if you're planning to have cocktails worth getting there a bit earlier for happy hour to soften the blow to the wallet. Recommended.
I couldn't fault the food it was very good. There was a lot of waiting staff but service was erratic. It started off well but by the end of the lunch it had become chaotic. We had about 4 or 5 different serves throughout the meal. All staff were very friendly and polite.
The venue is great, the location is great and the food is very good, they just need to work on their service.
I had to ask for the bill three times which was frustrating.
This is really a great place to eat. The staff are both friendly & professional. The wine list is well thought out & there is a good selection of wines by the glass. A great idea is that some wines are served in a 50cl Carafe, enabling a couple to have both red & white wine.
Found it on the internet(Trip Advisor). Useful dive in increasingly middle-eastern area of London. Well executed, simple Italian dishes of the set lunch menu were good value and enjoyed by all of us. Prices of the wines, even the basic ones seemed to me, a country bumpkin, quite outrageously high, which, as it was a reunion, took the edge off the perceived value.
Dinner is very good here. Love the casual feel but unfortunately week day breakfast is a let down. Cold poached eggs, grey smashed avocado and weak coffee. My guest had the full breakfast with a watery mushroom and lacked the crispy bacon/cotto. We will back here for consistently good drinks and dinner but will miss the mornings .Service was good here. Friendly and authentic.
Fantastic food, and pasta even a NYC resident can love. My only complaint is the choice of music. It is too loud to make conversation easy. I think if they leave the louder volume to the downstairs bar, they could create a great dining area upstairs for those who want to gather in a more pleasant atmosphere.
I went there for dinner with a friend.
I thought I could choose last minute if to have a set menu (so I read on the open table page) but the restaurant kindly told me I should have notified them before.
Anyway the A la carte menu had a good and interesting variety of choices.
The taste of the Malagliati with veal ragù was amazing, so rich and not overwhelming at all.
The service was spotless and the female waitress was really professional and smiling.
Prices are not average but not even extremely expensive.
not much of an atmoshpere, in fact, we went with another couple and were asked to 'keep it down' (from a few laughs) at our starter and then decided to move downstairs to the snug, as we were being rused through our meal in order to get in their 'second sitting'....I wouldn't go back.
Very good service but a bit expenive. They did not offer any discount -I had booked an offer which I assumed gave 25%. I was with a Japanese neighbour and it was difficult to mention discount when the b ill came, she wanted to leave quickly as it was very noisy! I will go back maybe with someone else.
I have lunched at several occasions at Bernadi's. My latest visit was a disappointment, the service was very slow and the meal was not really value for money. We all ordered crab tagilioni . The taste was good, but it had too little crab and the portions were quite small. It was more as a starter than a main course and it costed £ 20. Ingredients to the dish is probably not more than one £.
Lovely welcome, very attentive on our arrival, sorting coats etc. Choice of table. Service was faultless and friendly. Food and wine delicious. The T-bone was cooked to perfection & sides of fried potatoes and fine beans excellent. Great hand care products in the rest rooms! Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
My new local restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere with a 50s inspired style of interior with very comfortable seating and a cute wrap around terrace. The food is fresh and Italian style and I ordered a crab linguini with spring onion and chilli - my friend ordered a truffle fettucini - we had the starter size - I was happy with my portion but my friend thought it a bit minimal. We also ordered the fine beans, broccolli with chilli and the absolutely delicious potato fritti with parmesan - I could easily get addicted to them. I had a vodka and tonic and my friend had a glass of house red wine. We also had a custard pannacotta with rhubarb and pistachio to share.
The bill was about £97 but thanks to Open Table we got a 20% discount so it ended up £40 per head.
