Opening in 1939, The Regency Room has remained at the heart of the Roanoke social and cultural experience. The restaurant, under the direction of Executive Chef Michael Whittaker, features French-inspired Southern cuisine and is open year-round, including holidays. If you want to go back in time for even just a couple of hours, this is the place for you. A beautifully maintained hotel, built in the late 1800s, this location is an experience. On your way to the restaurant, you walk thru a seating area that just calls your name with cozy furniture and a fire going. If you manage to avoid getting sucked in by that, and actually make it to the restaurant, you are met with old world charm, with a live piano player performing in the middle of a spacious yet cozy setting. The buffet offers everything from breakfast staples to a carving station, from salmon casseroles to salads, from caramel mouse to raspberry tarts. The service is impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff that seem to anticipate your every need without hovering. A great place to take your family, your friends, your significant others, and even just yourself. During the holidays, get an extra treat by walking around the hotel's ground floor while admiring dozens of thoughtfully decorated Christmas Trees. If a more casual setting is what you are looking for, there is a full bar at the other end of the ground floor.

We enjoyed a nice evening out at The Regency Room. The food was delicious and the jazz music was great!

Wonderful experience and true fine dining. As someone who has worked in high-end culinary, I am quite discerning about giving 5 star reviews, but this rating was well earned. We were greeted warmly by a magnificent Maitre D, our server, Caleb, went far above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing evening. The musical accompaniment was outstanding in both performance and song selection, and the food was the true star of the evening. Surryano charcuterie was eloquent and tasty, the peanut and shecrab soups, both finalized tableside by Caleb, was fantastic! And the mains were out of this world delicious. A true culinary experience, complete with recommended wine pairings that brought out the depth and complexity of the dish. Amazingly done, thank you to the whole kitchen team and Exec Chef for a night we will not soon forget. 5/5, absolutely recommend.

All parts of the dining experience was exceptional! Parking was horrible. There were no spaces. It was a Saturday night at 7pm.

We were greeted warmly and with enthusiasm to see us. We got a table, at the Regency Room, and as requested, not too close to the band due a hearing impairment of one of our party. The band is phenomenal. The food was delicious. Double bone Pork Chop was wonderful and there was enough for my lunch the next day, big servings. The host checked on us and was delightful. Our waitress was smiling and helpful and obliged a substitution for my mother. We left being graciously told it was a pleasure having us. The rooms were very pretty, very well done remodel. There were plenty of towels. Everything was spotless. The big bay windows do have blinds that are very difficult to lower and raise, however. Breakfast this morning was top notch. I don't normally eat breakfast but caved for the Cinnamon Flake Waffle and it was wonderful. At check out, the staff insisted I use my vouchers and so, I did. Valet service was quick and easy and everyone was polite. It was a fantastic stay. Worth every penny.

Food varied in quality. Beef and she crab soup were delicious. Bread pudding was good. Croissant was stale (inedible). Beef Benedict was cold (inedible). I expect better from the Hotel Roanoke. The brunch as always been excellent until today.

We had an outstanding time dining at the Regency Room. Brody did an excellent job serving us. We had the Oysters Rockefeller, Filet Mignon, and Jumbo Crab Cakes. Everything was simply fabulous!!!!! It was a great New Year's Eve Eve dinner.
