Great first experience
Was good but busy
Second time at this restaurant and the food is always amazing! Me and my party arrived early and have a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar the service at the bar was very busy but also very non-welcoming. Got to work on that.
What a great experience. The food is outstanding the vibe is amazing. Great place for tourist and locals.
Had a great time, executive Chef Ed treated us like VIP's. Chef Samuelson came came over to the table as well. I flew in from Orlando just for the experience and was not disappointed...excellent!!!!
Travelled all the way to nyc to try the fried chicken. It is extremely overrated. Cooks were on there phones, server was nice but spread to thin. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I wouldn’t go back.
Not a lot on the menu to choose from. Chicken and waffle was extremely spicy and I eat spicy food all the time.
The service was very good, but the food was mediocre. Crab cakes were chewy and the yard chicken was dry. Was very much a disappointment.
The service was quite excellent. Servers were attentive but not intrusive. DJ on 3/10/2020 was awesome, she played Haitian music which made my day. Definitely get the Hot Honey Yardbird or the Obama Short Rib. You won't regret it.
The food and service were excellent. We chose to go on a Monday night for a jazz band performance and they did not disappoint.
We did lose the apetit when a guy vomet in the restaurant and no one did ask how we felt.
So the visit was not good.
An amazing dining experience and one we were so looking forward to. Marcus did not levy us down. The service was excellent, the food was fantastic
Incredible. And the yardbird is outrageously good!
A great vibe. Great food. A real taste of Harlem. That's it!
The food and service was amazing! We will definitely go back again.
We had a 2:30 reservation and was on time however wasnt seated until 3:05 .. horrible the. We were told by the waiter to hurry up and decide what we want to order because they kitchen was closing which is our fault cuz we where seated very late and that shouldn't rush the customer
They don’t honor the reservation table type you have and treat you like cattle
I had a reservation and still had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. After I was seated, it took about 15-20 minutes to have our order taken. The food was good, but it took over an hour after ordering for it to arrive at our table and our drinks didn't come out until way after that. Except for the grits i ordered on the side, the food was lukewarm to cold. I wouldn't go back. I gave some leeway because it was saturday brunch, but i would assume they're always pretty busy for brunch and should a stronger grasp of the logistics. There is no rational reason that a mimosa and a cocktail should take damn near two hours to serve.
We had a great time!
Overall, very tasty and lovely ambiance. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is my branzino had bones in it which was kind of annoying and slightly dangerous...but I would definitely go back.
The food here is fabulous; the service was excellent -- attentive and quick but not pushy. The noise level is always a little much for me, but with a table of 7 we were able to have 2 or 3 conversations going, so it didn't overwhelm us.
Great place with great food and great service.
Was over on a trip from the UK and have never had American BBQ food in the US before, and this more than delivered. Phenomonal ribs, great corn bread and waffle fries. Service excellent.
We come here every time we’re in the city, and it never disappoints. The food is beyond delicious, inventive yet thoughtful. The staff takes care of you and are just so gracious and friendly. The in house DJ keeps it lively, but it’s not a place for quiet intimate conversations.
The cocktails were very tasty and the food was delicious. The restaurant has a bright, lively atmosphere, we had a wonderful evening.
Nice atmosphere, good service, good music. BBQ could use a lil smoke flavor in the meat, especially if you’ve baked or boiled them. Try a stove top wood chip smoker toward the end. Other than that good food.
Food and service was great. Atmosphere was amazing! Looking forward to visiting the Miami location.
Great time, great food. Always on point. The staff is always freindly
The hostess was way less than friendly. Our waitor forgot our drinks and got my order wrong. We had to remind him to bring the drinks & tell him again what we ordered. I didn't get the correct entree until after my friend had already finished his. My friend thought his meal was "meh". I ate mine so fast becuase I was so hungry and everyone was waiting for me that I don't even have an opinion.
It seemed like a great place with a cool vibe but between the service and food, we are not likely to go back.
We had a wonderful time we sat at the high top tables right near the kitchen with the expediter barking out orders I wasn't annoyed I actually found it fascinating and we got to watch most of the dishes go by. We ordered the crab cakes the jerk chicken and short rib with prawns everything was delicious my only complaint is having to clean and skin the pawns myself , then I had to go wash my hands.
All in all we had a wonderful evening and I would highly recommend dinner at the Red Rooster Harlem
Servers were amazing and attentive. I enjoyed the food enough that we ordered an additional dish after the first appetizer came out. The lamb shank was to absolutely die for. Would order that every day. The skin on the fried chicken was perfectly crispy. Only thing that was a little amiss was that the mashed potatoes in the meatballs tasted burnt when eaten alone but with the meatballs it was covered up.
The food was great! I enjoyed the Garvey Punch (try it). The best customer service. I cant wait to return.
We (2 people) had dinner there Saturday evening, Feb. 29, and it was great. The food was very, very good, the portions huge. We had 2 snacks for appetizers, the devilled eggs and the meatballs, for entrees the Yardbird and the Lamb. and took home leftovers. Cocktails were tasty, nice selection of wines by the glass. Service was excellent. Very energetic scene, great people watching.
My friend had not been before and instantly loved it! lots of energy, great drinks and everyone was so friendly
This is an excellent restaurant! I wanted to visit for years, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The Hot Honey Yardbird was amazing, and the service was very attentive. The ambience is energetic and lively, and the decor is beautiful. The only small critique is that we visited in the middle of winter, and were seated in such a way that whenever someone opened the door, we felt the cold air. It was not cold enough to move tables, but some kind of barrier between the tables and the door would be recommended.
Great Food, Great Service and Great music! Soul food with a twist.
The food was mouth watering good. We had the fried bird Royale which came with a little of everything. It had fried chicken, waffles, pickles, Mac n cheese, biscuits and he got a complementary grits! It was so delicious!! If you go with the same option skip apps. It’s seriously so much food for $70.00. The royale could be split for even 4 people. The waiter was so kind. He would pick up even the scraps of tissue from my straw, wiped the table clean so I could hold my dates hand and gave us moist hold towels to wash our hands. Seriously the best. The music was also great and the decor
Something to crow about, this soulful, inviting, comfortable and art-filled, eclectic and playfully appointed space AND the Red Rooster staff welcome you from the moment you step in the door. A feast for your eyes and ears and quickly after ordering (because these folks know service!) for your pallet, Red Rooster is not likely to disappoint. Contrary to a diner beside us playing restaurant critique having tried but two appetizers, our experience was nothing less than fabulous and our sensory adventures to adjacent tables and conversations with those diners proved similarly positive! GREAT meatballs (tasty and unexpected), amazing jerk octopus (succulent and tender), block party ribs (flavor to die for), remix salad (abounds with flavor) and portions for everything were ample. Hamachi dish included bones and skin so more work to get to the good stuff that was in proportionately too short supply to recommend, but otherwise tasty and beautiful presentation. JuJu Woman and Yes, Chef cocktails are equally dazzling drink selections and the service was delightful. LOVE at first sight & taste!
I highly recommend Red Rooster Harlem. Five stars and then some. It would be nice to return in the late spring and summer when friends and family visit from various parts of Europe. So yes yes, of course, I will be back.....you can count on it.
The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Food delicious, as always.
Mediocre food & slow service. Shrimp & grits were bland and lukewarm by the time they arrived, cornbread OK but not great. I should have bailed right when I had to wait 10 minutes for the host to show up & seat us (with the place half empty). The tourists seem to enjoy it, leave the place for them.
