Love this place...feels like I am back in Paris...Casey, Faith, Steven and Trevor are all wonderful!
Food was delicious!!! And service was pretty good too. Great spot! Will be back for sure
Worst service ever. I gave it 2 trys now. I will not return.
Got my food and it was wrong but our server was super nice and didn’t hesitate to fix it for me. We told him we had to get to work and he was super great at getting us out of there on time. Service was great and the food tasted amazing
I made the mistake to follow the reviews here - neighborhood gem etc.; here is my story: Restaurant was about 15/20% full - if at all. The staff was a younger crowd, and definitely unexperienced. After asking us if we’d be okay to receive the food as it’s ready, we said no; all together would be nice as we had a family dinner. I ordered explicitly a quiche with mixed greens, as healthy as possible. No fries. First arrived my wife’s dinner, which was good. Then for 30’ nothing anymore. After the usual back and forth with the waitress - the quiche needs time in the oven (yeah right..) a plate full with French fries and a quiche arrives. Telling the waitress that I had ordered mixed greens, I was told I should keep it, they will send greens later. I said I don’t want a plate full with French fries as my dinner, she said that it would be for free, no charge. I insisted to get my plate as ordered and it finally came after good 40’ of waiting correct. Quiche was soso, mixed greens from Costco. At least they took it off the bill. At the end, an evening wasted during spring break. Don’t go there, there are far better places in SD.
More for casual dining, chairs uncomfortable, noisy corner, drafty outside, food just ok.
Great wine selection and even better food options. Made reservations on OpenTable with ease. Ordered the Grilled shrimp which was cooked and spiced perfectly. The must order is the Tuna Tartare Tartine! I didn't think adding pesto would be a game changer, but it definitely did, also to mention the high quality of the tuna and how great the poilane bread was. Washed everything down with the Orogeny, Russian River Valley Chardonnay which has a perfect blend of peach, pineapple and pears. Finished with a glass of the Malbec Mi Terruño, Mendoza, Argentina which was smokey and fruity.
Definitely need to come back for weekday happy hour! Thanks again for a great dining experince.
Great spot, sat at the couches by the fireplace, had the breakfast burrito which was delicious! Definitely recommend this place.
The food was amazing, we will definitely be coming back. The only thing I didn’t like was that our reservation was for 7pm and as soon as we were seated we were told the restaurant was closing at 8 as the electricity would be going out/turned off. I would have liked to have been notified prior to the reservation so I could move the time to an earlier time or rescheduled for another day. The hostess said the restaurant was made aware of the closing the day before leaving ample time to notify the later reservations. We went as an early birthday/anniversary/date night dinner and felt rushed to be out by 8.
Marvelous place. Interesting food and drinks, interesting space, great ambience sitting open to the sidewalk. Service was friendly and informative!
I love this place. The service and the food rock!!
Nice Location, Nice ambiance, missing a couple of items on their menu which was a pain, but overall pretty good
Loved going to zinque the cocktails and food is always superb. This was my third time. Our waiter was very generous and full of recommendations and great attitude. Some of the other staff is not very friendly. That is my only gripe about this place. It’s a hit or miss with staff. Some are excellent at customer service others are just there to collect a paycheck. Overall I will continue to visit because the food and ambiance are perfect.
Slow un attentive staff in an empty restaurant.... there are much better options throughout the area...
Food came all at once - appetizers and main plates together. Sent back the entrees until we were done with appetizers then were double charged for entrees. Brussels sprouts still raw and could not eat as they were oversized. Mis charged my $76 btl wine and charged $150 - watch you check in the end as the double charged items thy were removed still get factored into your gratuity. Food was good in flavors, server good, runners not so good.
Tried ordering the beef carpaccio. They sold out the day prior and our waiter either wasn’t aware of it or forgot. We order over priced deviled eggs; 1.5 eggs for $10. The egg whites were rubbery and the yolk filing was under seasoned. The potato chip had the strongest flavor.
Quiche Lorraine came out about 10 minutes after my friends mussels and fries. The quiche was underwhelming and not worth the wait.
The broth used for the mussels was different. Not bad, not good. Just ok, but could have used less fennel in the seasoning.
This is the second time coming here. I wouldn’t come back unless if it was just for a drink. The food is not worth the price. Neither of us are picky eaters or consider ourselves to be food critics. But honestly, sub par food isn’t hard to recognize. If it wasn’t for the gift card we wouldn’t have bothered ordering any food after the deviled eggs.
Enjoyed the food and service. Noisy inside because of two loud groups of females.
Subpar experience
Amazing! Exactly what we wanted, quality food and espresso. Great ambiance and service. Will be coming back and recommending!
Great location! Perfect to hang out with friends over dinner and drinks 👌🏼
Don’t go here. Horrible service and a bunch of excuses
This was my first time here. We sat next to the cozy fireplace that was situated semi outdoors on their covered pseudo patio. Our server was super nice and gave us great drink recommendations - “la francaise”, it has passion fruit and was like a tropical vacation in a glass. The drinks were the best part of the food service. We initially were craving the tuna tartare but when it came time to order they didn’t have any. We were there at 5 so it was a little confusing that they were already out at the start of dinner service, no biggie. Instead we got pan con tomate, avocado tomato tartine and mushroom cheese flatbread. The food wasn’t anything amazing tbh. The avocado tomato tartine was just diced avo toast with baby tomatoes. The flat bread was more of a giant cracker, but it was very tasty. The tartine and pan con tomate lacked flavor/seasoning, there just wasn’t anything amazing or different about the food - pretty basic. My friend mentioned that it was nothing that couldn’t have been prepared at home in a couple minutes.
Maybe it was just an off day, as my second friend whom I was with mentioned the dinner was great the last time she was here. “The whole branzino is delicious.”
Might give it another chance sometime in the future if I’m craving branzino. 6.5/10
consistently good food friendly staff quick service
The sever took over 15 minutes to greet us after we sat, but the food came out super fast so it was okay. The food was only okay but dessert was pretty good. Glad we tried it but won’t be going back.
Two appetizers brought to table with main course. Costly bottle of wine opened without opportunity to see the bottle, poured without opportunity to taste. Mediocre food.
Drinks were great, but food was just ok and expensive for what you got. Ordered the steak and frites and got a pile of fries (tasted like McDonald’s) and about 6oz of steak for $30. Not worth it.
Nice date night spot, wine selection was great, and quick service
Great place, awesome service, ambiance amazing :)
All good, highly recommended, only one complaint, chicken this time was way too salty.
Great Happy Hour (M-F 4-7 pm)!
Drinks and food took a very long time to come out but staff was attentive to the delays and gave us a round of drinks on them to make up for the delay. Food was delicious once it finally arrived!
Food was mediocre at best. Ahi was too salty. Bowl of mussels were ok at best very small amount. Ratatouille was burnt and still had to pay for it. Service good and good location.
Menu not the same as what is online. Inexperienced staff polite but not attentive. Average cheese board not recommended. We would never go back not worth paying 15 to park. Forget Little Italy is overrated!
Pretty long wait to get waited on. Cocktails didn’t come until after our food (they were espresso martinis so the wait is understandable). Food was very good and the cocktails were great once we got them. The bottle of water had something floating in it but they changed it out with a new one no problem. Was oddly noisy but that was more thanks to a large party and not really the restaurants fault. Might try it again if I had a reason to.
Was a little nervous that there was a 10pm res available on Valentine’s Day. It’s a little late but reasonable enough for 20 somethings, I assumed something was poor about the restaurant. It was incredible. Excellent date vibe and the V day menu was great. Highly recommend
I write this review with a truly heavy heart. The other times I have dined here have been wonderful. Valentine's Day was a completely different experience. I've come to expect these days are often busy and occasionally understaffed with limited menus....but this was horrid. 90/person, extremely under portioned, under seasoned steak, the chimichurri had an odd after taste, the potatoes seemed as if they were the boxed variety, and dessert...the biggest let down of the night. What should have brought the whole night together was instead culminated with store bought strawberries and cream that was over sweetened to pass off as chantilly. The flourless cake was ...okay?
And staffing....I saw my waiter a total of 4 times my entire meal. Charged 4 dollars for asking to try both sauces to which I was not informed of, I had to hail someone to order a drink after my entree arrived! We we're made to feel as if we were putting them out by dining there. Overall one of the absolute worst dining experiences of my entire life. I don't think if I'll ever be able to return there again.
Very disappointed for what was advertised by the restaurant as valentines dinner. On arrival, we were met by staff in t-shirts and ripped jeans. We were dressed up for a Valentines dinner, as were others. The guests were all dressed well, the staff was not. We were then told to just pick an open table - wait I thought I’d reserved a table at a nice restaurant? Picking a table was a little challenging too because people were not spaced 6 feet apart. We had strangers sitting at adjacent tables no more than 2 ft away. The service was quite good and attentive, but again our server was dressed like he was going to high school not serving at a nice restaurant. The food, it was ok, but for a pre fix Valentines dinner that we had to make a deposit to reserve, well it wasn’t anything special. I’ve cooked steak and lobster better myself at home. I get that things are difficult for restaurants these days, but for a special occasion this was disappointing and could have been so much better with just a little effort and attention to detail from the restaurant.
Lovely restaurant. Felt romantic and very comfortable dining here. The salmon was cooked nicely. I do wish the Zinque served pate appetizer differently. On the side instead of on top of the bread. In more an appealing way. Other then that we enjoyed our experience.
I can cook a better breakfast than what I was served. The space is nice, but the food lacks flavor and the service is below average.
Great food terrible service
