THANK YOU, WE ENJOYED OUR TIME BUT WE PAID AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT FOR NOT A LOT OF FOOD. THE FOOD DID NOT TASTE AS GOOD AS WHAT WE PAID FOR IT. WE ORDERED 2 DRINKS FOR TWO ADULTS AND ONE OF THEM NEEDED TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO REDO. WE LOVED THE AMBIANCE. IT'S SUCH A GREAT SPACE AND ATMOSPHERE.
Unfortunately, I felt rushed thru. When I asked if I could have a different table (one that wasn’t so close to the entrance and where there was softer lighting), I was asked if I would be leaving by a certain time (2 hours after my reservation time). I said yes. I understand that tables are reserved but the restaurant was about 80% empty when I arrived. It was just as empty when I left about 30 minutes later. Not the relaxing meal I had hoped for.
I hope that people will frequent this establishment. It was very quiet the day we came. They do a theatre special where valet is free for theatre if you eat there. Food is good, great ambiance and that deal is worth the price of admission.
The branzino was delightful, the empanadas were amazing and the enchiladas were quite tasty. We had some nice signature cocktails and a decent wine list and a lovely birthday desert that was also delicious.
I hope that they are busier on other days than they were this last Thursday because everything was really good and I would hate to see them close.
Server seemed very new. Gave us “old”drink menu; when I tried to order something, was later told I couldn’t have it, and was given “new” drink menu. How hard is it to have them make the drink I ordered? Restaurant wasn’t very busy but server didn’t come around much. So odd things like salad delivered without salad plates, extra cost for tortillas, etc. food was decent but no reason to go back.
birthday date. Seating for 2 at 9:30 PM on a Wednesday was inconvenient seating. Small table for 2 placed to the side of a walkthrough between the bar and larger are. People that were standing watching the salsa dancing , enjoying their drinks would occasionally bump into us.
There was better seating but appeared to be for larger party.
Because of that I score it a 4/5
I was very disappointed with the service.... our waitress had to review our order three separate occasions and yet 45 min later we did not get our food. The restaurant was rather empty so that could not be an excuse. We ended up leaving the restaurant before our food showed up and only paid for the drinks we consumed which was one 1 drink per person after 1:45 min because we never got the second round??? very disappointed that this beautiful place could not deliver.
The only thing I was disappointed with was there was no notification that the Salsa lesson was cancelled because of a private event. Your instagram showed that the salsa lesson was happening that night and it did not. Then the band took forever to start playing. I was there until almost 11pm and still no band. I only had a babysitter for a few hours and I wasted some time just waiting.
waiter was nice, she did everything to make us feel comfortable BUT food was expensive and not enough food on our plates, I don't mind paying but not for this small portions of food..this is not for us plus it made us sick..music wise, we were told that it was a good place to dance but it that was not the case, maybe it is, but not thhst day..
Friendly service, great food, a little pricy but considering the neighborhood, it's really average prices for Hollywood. Interesting and tasty drinks. Everything we ordered was good, from chips and salsa to tacos, chile relleno and sides.
The food was good but the service was slow. The waitress knew we were going to the Pantages Theater so we were expecting faster service, so we felt rushed when we finally got our food. We didn't have time to order dessert. Maybe that's why the restaurant wasn't crowded before a sold out show.
The service was horrible. There were approximately 20 people in the restaurant, so by no means was it busy. They brought us someone else's food twice. It took too long to get our drink order and food order. The drinks took too long to arrive. The food was delicious, but not well heated. We returned one dish and we had to ask for it twice. We had all finished our dinner, so we had to cancel the dish we returned. One person in our party ordered hot tea and they never refilled her hot water even though we requested it. I spoke to the manager, Eric, and he was very understanding and apologetic. He compensated us quite well.
Food was very good as was the band during dinner. The service needs to improve. We waited for over 10 minutes after being seated for service. Employees kept walking by and nothing. I finally had to ask a manager if anyone was assigned to our table. He comp'd first round and server after that was good. I will give it another try as the food was very good.
Came here for Salsa night with live band, I was told by host it started at 9pm. They didn't start setting till about 10pm and the band started at 11pm. The server's was the worst, my husband and I where her first table and she took forever. We both saw her talking and laughing with other employees when we both had empty Waters and cocktails. Left early and didn't even get to enjoy the themed night. Food was amazing but the server I had was horrific.
This was perhaps one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The food was not good and way overpriced for the small portions. Our server was a moron and completely neglected us throughout the meal. It's no wonder we were able to get a reservation only days before our dinner. Keep this place for late night drunken escapades.
The food and sangria is excellent. The service was top notch. For dinner around 6 the noise level is low, we came back after seeing a show at Pantages and it was packed and a live band. So depending on when you go will determine how noisy it is. We couldn't wait for a table for dessert but now I know what to expect next time. Looking forward to our next trip to LA so we can come back!
We went to Viva in a large group of ten and had a terrific time! The food was delicious. Everyone got something different and enjoyed their meal! The drinks were also very good with a selection of exotic options and standards. The churros at the end of the night were a great finishing touch
The exterior of the building made us question whether to eat here. The windows were filthy and scratched and the business sign looked really cheap (painted on the side of the building). The exterior made us question the cleanliness of the interior. Nevertheless, we entered and the space was nice, not as nice as the previous restaurant in this location. The food was simple and very good and the cocktails were good but they didn't have Crown Royal and a very limited list of bourbons. The service was good but nothing exceptional and they seemed disorganized. We received our entrees in minutes after we ordered, so if you are there for a quick bite, a good choice.
This place was interesting. The food was either really good or really awful. The Empanadas based like they were reheated and the chocolate cake was not fresh but the guacamole, corn, skirt steak and tacos were all very good. The guacamole is different with pomegranate and served with banana chips. So, its hit and miss. Oh, the ice cream on the chocolate cake was good. Order carefully and thoughtfully.
Was disappointed, made the reservation a week in advance and specified that it was a birthday. When they called to confirm I also reminded them of that. Our waitress was unfriendly and either was not informed or chose not to do anything for my friends birthday. The food was good and the space was fun and pretty.
