Vela - The Hilton Los Cabos Hotel
Excelente comida y el lugar muy bien puesto. Como todo en Los Cabos, los precios son estratosféricamente caros, especialmente para los mexicanos
The food was excellent. We both had meat; filet and rib eye. Both delicious. They have a nice selection of entrees. We normally do not have carbs, but it was so lovely we split a dessert. It was fabulous. This is a special restaurant situated next to the pool. No swimmers! Just pretty water with lamp lights. It was a very wonderful evening.
Unbelievable food and service. Oscar was fantastic.
My wife and I visited Vela on a night that we wanted a change of pace from the local cuisine. What a great restaurant. The meal, the service and the atmosphere exceeded our expectation. We both said we can’t wait to go back.
Excelente atención De Gregorio, Alfredo el Gerente del lugar y genial cocina
Lovely! Attentive service, excellent array of Italian specialities. Delicious pastas! Tranquil relaxing setting.
It was good
Service and atmosphere excellent, however food did not meet expectations. Shrimp scampi was drowned in tomato sauce, and the lemon risotto was also too much tomato, with no taste of lemon.
Absolutely fantastic- great food, service, and views
The best restaurant at the Hilton, as well as a wonderful restaurant overall. Amazing service, food and ambience. We try enjoyed dining there more than once. Jose is an amazing server, as well as all we encountered! We’re really picky, thanks you for
Very slow service and unattentive wait staff. We waited to over 20 for bread and over 30 for appetizers. The octopus came out cold and very chewy. We had 3 kids and they brought out dinner for 2 and the other child had to wait another 10 min for his. The main courses were ok. Overall, nothing special. There are so many delicious restaurants in Cabo that Vela should be the last on your list.
Lovely and convenient if you are staying at the hotel. Would have given it 5 stars, except we had made a reservation and when we got there, they didn’t show that we had one. It was also very expensive. Good food and great wine, so overall a very good experience.
It was very good for sure however it was more expensive than advertised. This is a $$$$ restaurant and while it was very good it was not quite the 5 that so many others have rated it. Certainly worth the trip and we might even go back on this trip
Very convenient to have a nice restaurant in the hotel where you are staying on vacation. Its not the best Italian fare but the portions are decent and the presentation is well done. The service was very inconsistent for the price point. We waited over an hour for our entrees to arrive and there appeared to only be three people working the entire floor of the restaurant which was probably three to few given how many people they have working their other restaurants throughout the day and the number of guests. Highly recommend the pasta carbonara.
As always ... a perfect dining experience at Vela ... a great restaurant ... live music ... fine food ... gracious friendly service ... we love it at Vela
Outstanding Italian food! Passion and dedication you can taste it in every single bite. Not only is the food delicious, it’s fresh and authentic. We tried several appetizers, entrees and desserts. Each dish was amazing and as equally mouthwatering as the other. If this isn’t fine Italian dining at it’s finest, I don’t know what is. ADDITIONALLY, the staff is extremely friendly, attentive and professional. Shout out to the Executive Chef Mauricio Lopez, Chef Orlando and his staff Omar, Oscar, Bernardino and Cesar. Keep up the amazing work and THANK you for a superb culinary experience!
Returned here again this year for dinner. Food and service was still excellent. HOWEVER, just as the hotel 2 years ago made a move to incentive groups which closed bars and restaurants and turned the pool into a football field for alcoholics at different times, now the hotel is using Vela to host incentive cocktail get together with speeches and screaming right in the middle of where diners are eating. What a waste of a good food venue now overrun by hoards of people whose company is paying their way to annoy paying guests.
Gregario is a fantastic host providing incredible service and suggestions. The filet was cooked to perfection as well as the scampi and pasta to perfection. Cheers,
Great spot. Good authentic Italian food. Service was great as well.
Vela was wonderful! Oscar was our waiter, and he took excellent care of us. He was kind, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable of the menu and offered suggestions and alternatives quickly. We had an intimate table by the pool, there was live music, and the wait staff passed out long stem roses to the ladies this evening for Valentine’s Day which was a nice touch. Highly recommend Vela!!
Celebrated my husband’s birthday. What a beautiful evening in a beautiful location! Food was outstanding. I enjoyed the bruschetta sampler and mozzarella bufala a bit more than my white and black tagliatelle shrimp entree. Fresh ingredients prepared perfectly. Electric violin player added to the romantic ambiance.
Omar and Oscar were awesome servers. Presentation and ambience were excellent.
This is the beat restaurant at the hotel! My family loved it!
We had a wonderful meal at Vela with family and friends during the holiday week. The food was delicious...all of the pasta was so fresh and authentic. The setting was beautiful and we had exceptional service. I will definitely return in the future.
Amazing as always. We dined 3X in a 7 day stretch (including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) and everything/everyone was absolutely on point. Be sure to ask for José to be your server. He’s the best of the best!!!
Fantastic service and very good food. Ordered the local fish and it was excellent
Just excellent al around! Service ambiance and meal were one of the best we have experienced inCabo
Fabulous food and service!
There are a lot of really top notch fine dining restaurants in Cabo San Jose... this is not one of them. The food is good but not great. Service is fine but the ambience is underwhelming.
Service was impeccable! Setting by the pool with dim lighting made for romantic and relaxing atmosphere. It was the food that was not as expected. $150 for two people and no alcohol. Amount and quality and finesse with entrees was lacking.
Given the high reviews and our proximity to the Hilton, we hoped for a great experience on our anniversary. Sadly, it didn’t hold a candle (vela) to the many other dining experiences we’ve had in Baja. The salad was undressed and the entree was not as described. the ambience was diminished by people from the pool walking through the middle of the diners. On a positive note... the service was excellent but that isn’t enough to make us ever go back. Candle extinguished.
Service was very slow, so dont be in a rush. The serving size is also very small and that comes feom someone who has had gastric sleeve surgery, and i dont need much to fill up. Food is very delicious, but left me feeling a little under fed for the higher pricetag. Flavors are fantastic. Ambiance is amazing. I would go back for special occassions, knowing what more to expect. Presentation was terrific.
The weather was ideal. The view was spectacular as the sun set and the lights reflected from the infinite pool while you could hear the sounds of the waves down by the beach. The attention of the server and rest of the staff was above and beyond without hovering. And then flavors of the food was hard to beat. A wonderful experience all around and a great end to our week in Cabo.
Buen servicio, buena comida, muy lindo lugar, para cenas románticas o compartir con amigos.
As usual the service at the Hilton is amazing. Gregorio did a great job!
Vela is one of the best kept secrets in Cabo. The bone-in ribeye is as good as you can buy anywhere in the states. Our meal for two with sides and dessert was less than half of what you will pay at other Cabo Steak Houses, and your meal will not compare in quality.
Add to that the peaceful seating by the pool which overlooks the ocean, and you have a wonderful romantic evening.
Of course, the Hilton is well known for impeccable service, and the staff at Vela works to perfection.
A wonderful place to eat.
The food was okay, but definitely not amazing especially given the prices. The atmosphere was very nice and the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive.
Absolutely loved Vela. My friends and I were vacationing at the Hilton Los Cabos and loved it so much that after our first meal there, we decided to go back for the last night of our trip. One of the group is a vegetarian and had plenty of good options, and the two of us who are not diet-restricted had plenty to choose from, of course. The local Totoaba (pictured) was particularly terrific and Michelangelo’s Palette (pictured) was one of the best, most colorful and creative plated desserts I’ve seen anywhere, and I’m a bit of a (self-proclaimed) foodie. The service is also wonderfully attentive and there was a violinist playing on one occasion, which was wonderful and really added to an already-stellar poolside and palm-tree laden atmosphere. Highly recommended.
