Drawing ingredients and inspiration from near and far, VAGA explores San Diego’s ever-changing confluence of culture and wanderlust. From its perch on a coastal bluff in Encinitas, California, VAGA keeps one hand in the ocean, one hand in the farm, and both eyes on the horizon.

VAGA Restaurant & Bar is located on Level 2 of Alila Marea Beach Resort. Valet parking is available through the resort for $5.00 per car before 5 pm with validation only. After 5 pm, valet parking is $10.00 per car with no validation required. Self-parking is not available.

Such a beautiful restaurant with so much potential. The most beautiful view and a beautiful aesthetic. When u walk into the hotel lobby downstairs there’s an unlit undecorated feathered tree of sorts with a couple of dark gifts piled under it. They do have a beautiful tree which u can see from the restaurant. My friend ordered one of the signature cocktails and asked for it to be light on the rum, she was told they were premade so they couldn’t adjust. I just ordered wine. The food portions are tiny. We ordered the apple barratta salad which was delicious but extremely small. The pasta dish was very good. My friend ordered the scallops which literally were 4 lonely scallops on a plate. The dessert was some funfetti sponge cake which was way too sweet. .

Our server was outstanding! The other rest of the staff was awesome as well. It was a great night!

Beautiful restaurant the service was very professional and attentive and the food was delicious I highly recommend VAGA.

We had an incredible meal at Vaga and cannot recommend it enough! Every dish we tried was fantastic. The burrata was creamy and perfectly paired, the duck carnitas were bursting with bold flavor, and the crudo was fresh and beautifully presented. The hangar steak was the highlight for me—perfectly cooked, tender, and absolutely delicious. The pork was also incredibly flavorful and well-executed. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and ocean view is hard to beat! We’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

I celebrated my birthday here and everything was fantastic from the service to the ambience. The sweet potatoes and the duck carnitas were exceptional. Our steaks were perfect as were the drinks.

Great service! Nice View. Temperature was on the cold side. My pasta was great. Linda’s short rib was mostly a blob of fat. If it wasn’t for the great knowledgeable Service We would never go back.
