A lovely honeymoon dinner experience. Our server was so helpful and recommended some great dishes. Beautiful atmosphere. Recommend going around sunset!

Very disappointed. We decided to leave going here till our last evening in Tulum and was very disappointed with the whole experience. Considering the hype this place gets you would think it would be the very best but it certain was not. The staff were rude, the food is well below average, wine choice was a total joke, overall cost was very expensive. I would not recommend this place, there are far nicer restaurants in tulum that are well worth the cost and the quality of food is excellent.

Hice una reservación para cenar, me asignaron la mesa pegada a la caja y a la salida de la cocina habiendo otras mesas disponibles, pregunte por esas mesas y me contestaron que estaban ocupadas...
Intenté ordenar una botella de vino y 30 minutos después la respuesta fue que el somelier se encontraba en un evento y que solo el me podía vender la botella y que bo existía y una lista de vinos disponibles. La comida no justifica el precio.

It was our second time visiting this restaurant. The first experience was incredible. The second was not. The service was extremely slow, they were out of a few food items, we were not allowed to access the sunset bar (which you pay extra for and we were more than willing to do so) as we were told it was too busy. Yet we could see they definitely had space, and continued to allow others to go up there during the course of our dinner. One positive is that our server acknowledged the poor service and experience, without us mentioning anything, a gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. I wouldn’t say not to go to the restaurant. Just be aware that they seem inconsistent with service.

La location è incredibile, semplicemente favolosa . Il ristorante fa parte dell’hotel Azulik .
Vale una visita anche solo per esser visto e potersi perdere nel suo labirinto di sale in legno , alberi , piante e ponti tibetani al chiar di luna . Cibo e servizio buono , conto salato ma in linea con lo stile del locale

We didn’t have a bad evening. The problem with the place is that it is marketing itself as a premium dining experience but falls way short with bad attention to detail and surly employees. What seemed like 7-11 napkins and takeaway chopsticks were provided. The doormen are laughably rude and the toilet that i went to had a blocked sink and 2 bins overflowing with used paper towels. The place is so dimly lit that you need to hover a candle over your crab roll to try and pick it up with said 7-11 bamboo chopstick. The food was fine if overpriced and Ivan, our waiter was very nice but it is falling very short of the thing that it’s selling itself as.

la experiencia vivida en el restaurante deja mucho que desear!
La comida tardo en llegar minimo 2 hs. el agua 1 hora, no es comida de calidad, ningun sabor fuera de lugar.
Decian estar full house y mirabas a tu alrededor y TODO vacio!
el menu es acotado x lo que no tienen variedad o dificultad en la elaboración o preparación de la comida.
Te quieren conquistar con una copa de vino ( casi calidad vino en carton)
los edamame q es lo q uno pide para empezar d picoteo.... llego ultimo
Si destaco el servicio del mozo que nos atendio, super aervicial no sabia mas de que forma ayudar entendiendo la situación.
Lo qie era una noche especial fue 🤪

That was our best luxury dining experience during our visit to Tulum! The raw fish selection is out of this world. We were served a great wine chosen by the waiter, and we had amazing cocktails before we were seated for dinner. It's such an experience not to be missed and worth every penny you will spend there!

Food was delicious but not a lot of options. Also they don’t serve sake which given it’s a Japanese restaurant one would expect them to have. Other drinks were very limited as well (2 red wine and 2 white wine options). Pro - amazing architecture and totally worth a visit.

Very overrated. From the outside, you will find a long line of folks just wishing to go to the bar (only accommodates 40 people for sunset only) and those with reservations. If you have a res and/or are just going to the restaurant, do not expect a view unless you want to pay $900 USD for a "nest." However, spending this much won't be hard! A single piece of salmon sushi was $32 US! Single piece, not a set of 2 like normal sushi places. Their $40US crab roll tasted like canned tuna, we actually sent it back. Overall, for 4 pieces of sushi, hamachi (which was beautifully presented and quite tasty) and 2 drinks, we spent over $100US. The staff was lovely, food and view were below expectations. Do not trust the photos you see, the restaurant is dark. The structure of the place is applaud worthy however, it's a legit Treehouse!

Restaurant design was like nothing I have ever seen before, and this is maybe why the queue to get inside consisted of people who were only there to take pictures. Even though we had a reservation the host told us to stand in the long queue with the tourist who were only there to take a picture. In our booking we specifically asked for a top nest with a view and confirmed this the day before. Still, the host gave us a table inside at the entrance with no view, even though there were multiple tables available. When we asked why we did not get a nest as booked we were told it was a minimum spend to get this. I guess the normal thing to ask, at such fancy restaurant, would be if we were okey with the minimum spend of the table we booked. But the host brushed us off and went back discussing things with her colleague. We were left a bit puzzled at our table when our waiter arrived shortly. With next to no view, no sunset and no people accept for staff, as we came early to watch the sunset, the atmosphere was dry and we decided to leave. Have never left a restaurant were we booked a table before, so this was for sure a disappointment. Don’t know anything about the food though, might be good. Make sure to have your wallet open so the hostess can see it, if not you will not have a pleasant welcome. Our waiter was very friendly and nice. Would recommend Akiin if you are looking for a nice restaurant with private nest experience and great view :)

The place is far too expensive for the quality that it offers. The service was the worst we had in life. Up to +30min to get someone to get us some water. Terrible.

I highly recommend this place! I think it gets overlooked by Kin Toh and that is unfortunate. It is owned by the same resort and it is just as beautiful if not more beautiful then Kin Toh. Walking to the restaurant itself, was an adventure. If you are looking for a dining EXPERIENCE in Tulum, I recommend this restaurant. Jesus was our server and he went ABOVE and BEYOND to make this night special for us. We stumbled across this restaurant and I am so so so happy we did!!! If you have never had Waygu, I also recommend the Waygu at the table cooking experience. Very different and totally worth it!

Great hotel and restaurant. The server was fantastic. Food was okay, I’ve had better sushi and ramen but you really go for the experience of the place. Only problem I had was how restricted the place was for us to take photos. You are limited to just the restaurant and can’t go in until your reservation time. So we had to wait outside Im the sweltering heat even though the place was empty and we even said we can go to the bar but they said no.

Very poor service. Food was ok.
Quite disappointed. It was for a birthday. I asked twice for a cake with a little canule. It never came.
At 10pm, lights were off. We had to leave.

The food was nice but day after we got a stomach poisoning and fever. I think the fish wasn’t fresh..

Quality of food for the price is not worth it, your better off going for a drink or two to check out the space. Otherwise I’ve had better Japanese food at a cheaper price. Service was awful first, they never read the notes on the reservation ( me and my wife were celebrating our ten year and they sat us at the bar with other couples). After they sat us down it took them 20 minutes to come back to our table to help us. Forgot to give us napkins and took up to 15 minutes to get a bottle of wine. Service and food need improvement, the ambiance is great and unique.

We are locals dedicated to vacation rentals and wanted to visit to experience thw whole Azulik concept in order to recommended to our guests. We waited for a lower season to avoid crowds but choose the hotest month August of the year. However this was not a problem since our waiter Cuathemoc sit us in the best table with amazing ocean views and breeze. Food was phenamonal, tequila and gin mixiology drinks were great, waiter the most kind and menu knowledgable we order everything he recommended deer, hot tuna, salmon and unagi sushi my favorte duck ramen soup. He invited us to the sunset roof nest bar for only $550 pesos per person including 1 drink. It was worth every peso, ambiance was nice, jungle and ocean views were spectacular with the sunset. We then headed back to the restaurant for dessert chocolate with avocado & pear Sorbets. Then our waiter made Arrangements for us to visIt the Kin Toh bar, wine cellar again we were AssisTed by a nice wAiter aNd Show us around all the wAy to the GaLlery. Our bill waS for $135 uSd For 2. The experience waS greAt, the service incredible. Highly recommended pleASe Add it in you bucket list. It is a must on your next visit to Tulum.

The sushi and sashimi were of top quality, but the rest of the food flopped when they tried to get too creative. For example, the edemame wasn’t properly seasoned because of some oily dressing they put on it that made the salt they put on it slide right off and the soy slid right off the oil, making the edemame very bland and starchy-tasting. Some of the cocktails were too sweet. They could use some editing.

The atmosphere was pretty great otherwise.

The food we had was very good however they were out of several items- understandable for sushi I suppose. However, they were also out of champagne and their entire sake list which was disappointing.

Amazing atmosphere/view.
Toro nigiri was great quality.
Good service.

Le cadre est à couper le souffle : nous arrivons par un tunnel fait de bois et après quelques marches à monter une superbe salle de dîner surplombant la mer nous accueille.
Le service est à la hauteur (on nous demande nos allergies par exemple) et les mets sont excellents : Sushi, poisson, homard.

Même les cocktails et le dessert était de grand niveau !

Overpriced “Japanese” food, the ramen was off, uni was not fresh and hamachi was really dry... for the type of prices and for food that was supposedly flown in from Tsukiji, one would expect much more. For such a beautiful restaurant, the food was sadly a big miss and only those interested in the Instagram photos should come. What a let down
