True Food Kitchen - Arlington, Ballston Quarter
First time to this location. Food and service as good as any other TF i've been to
I just didn't find the quality of the food to be very good. The flavor was lacking and it seems like they are trying to hard to "be healthy" and haven't achieved good tasting food. I am a proponent of healthy eating but eating healthy can also taste good. I won't be going back.
Jonathan was a star server! Attentive yet not hovering, took a picture of my friends and I, and even gave us desserts when he found out we were celebrating. I’ll be back!
Fantastic food. Love the healthy options and the keto menu options. Great service too; the waiter was very helpful with choosing a dish (it was our first time at the restaurant). I will certainly go back.
service was incredibly slow. took 35 mins to get a drink.
Waiter forgot everything. We were there st an off time.
Service was slow for a lunchtime when it wasn’t too crowded. The food was great as ever.
It's delicious healthy food. Just a bit noisy for conversation.
TOO LOUD! Will not plan another Saturday evening reservation. Waitstaff person assigned to too much. Had to ask kitchen/ host staff "where are our drinks?" Sent home with pie on the house acknowledging poor service. The food is good but most everything else was not good
One of my favorite restaurants! We don't have one where we live so always look for one when traveling! This is my second time to go to this one - it was excellent as always!
We went after an work event of positive vibes, motivational speakers and just overall, good peeps and this place had the best staff and food! Everyone so sweet and nice and the FOOD.......ahhhhhh fresh, flavorful and freaking delicious, so much so I want to drive another 2 hours to go back SOON!!
thank you all who served the table from Richmond, we appreciated you!
Very good for a health food place. Seabass was solid but nothing special. Guacamole and brussel sprouts appetizer were very good. Limited wine list.
The portions of food were on the small side for the amount of money that we spent. Two glasses of wine and two entrees totaled $78 and that was without the tip Food was good but not outstanding. I realize they are trying to make healthy food and accommodate many people’s food sensitivities however I feel they should step it up a notch since we have many outstanding restaurants in our area to choose food. Service could also be improved. Communication between our server and the bar broke down and we had to wait awhile for our wine. Mine didn’t come until after we started our meal. Hope they can improve.
Food and service were amazing! I love that the menu changes periodically so it is always a new experience when I visit.
Food is not as good as in the Fairfax, VA location.
The salmon in my dish tasted fishy, indicating it was not very fresh. Server was notified but did not say anything.
My husband noted that the flavors in his dish were not up to par with the Fairfax location. We both have had these dishes before.
The patio area is very pleasant. Hopefully the kitchen will work out the glitches.
Maybe because it was brunch, I was a little taken aback by $9.50 apiece ($19.00) for two fish tacos. I’ll admit they were delicious and plentiful. Steak tacos are two dollars less. Generally, though the prices are only seem high if you look at the ingredients. Seems as if protein is getting cheap and veggies dear. Then there’s the apparent premium for “eating healthy.” We liked the bright & cheerful space. Our server was obliging, but got our drink orders wrong and brought us the wrong check. The hostess team was welcoming, and doing an excellent job of keeping up.
Great experience. Now my favorite neighborhood restaurant
I had a wonderful time.
An enjoyable experience. The lead waitress was excellent, but it appeared that some of the rest of service was still working out the new restaurant kinks. A good experience and would return.
So fresh, so flavorful and wanted to order what I had AGAIN to go! Amazing! Please come to Charlottesville, VA!!!
Food was delicious and the service was excellent
Food was good and service friendly, however, a few too many people swinging by to see how things were. Once is quite enough.
Had a very nice dinner here, the food and service were good. I'd recommend and go back.
It was too loud but all other aspects were great.
Family dinner before taking daughter to college.
Great food. Service was a tad uneven.
We went for brunch on a Saturday morning. I have been to another True Foods location and absolutely loved it! While this location was also very good, the service wasn’t as good as we had experienced at the other location. May have been due to the brunch rush, but a little disappointed in the service.
Amazing! Amazing service that was well-timed and friendly and delicious food.
I just keep coming back, I really enjoy myself each time! My only comment- the speciality non alcoholic drinks always take so long to come out. By the time it gets there I always forgot that I ordered one.
For a tasty and healthful meal that won't break your wallet, dine at True Food Kitchen. I had the quinoa salad, and it was very good indeed. My companion had the Korean Bowl and ate every bit. The service was just as good as the food. When the wine I ordered (by the glass) was not available, the server brought me a generous sip of the alternative she recommended. I will certainly be back! It's great to know there's a local place with food this good at reasonable prices. Three cheers!
Absolutely wonderful! We couldn't have been more pleased with our appetizers, bowl, salad, and sandwich plus the delicious summer drinks. Reasonably priced and definitely healthy. Will definitely return on a regular basis.
Really loud. Great cocktails. Server was really nice but a little busy. Had a good time. Would def go back. But the music was def too loud.
Outstanding food. It was healthy and beautiful, creative and reasonably priced. Service was great. The place was very lively with great energy.
The freshness and combination of the ingredients are awesome.
The service and food were good but the noise level was too much. Don't plan on having an important conversation.
First let me say that I am overall a big fan of the True Foods concept and execution. I have been to three of the local locations many times, have also ordered takeout and the only fault I've found in the past is the noise level.
In the Washington, DC area, True Foods has recently expanded from dinner service only, to adding a weekend brunch, and now is open for both lunch/dinner daily. I suspect some of what happened on our visit was due to growing pains.
When we arrived, we asked that our party be sat outside rather than in as our reservation reflected. The staff was accommodating, although we began our evening being waited on at the outside bar (she was awesome). One of our party members ordered a drink right as our group transitioned to sitting down to eat, and it took for asks and almost 40 minutes for the drink to arrive. There appeared to be confusion between who was doing what in the transition. Salads requested with dressing on the side arrived fully dressed, then with no dressing at all. That same person didn't receive her mail course (the salad) until everyone else had finished their dinner. Worst offense was my beloved flatbread was bland, the kale salad, which is normally garlicky, had no flavor and my turkey burger was overcooked.
I'm not sure if the problem was with the wait staff or the kitchen--I suspect the latter, but I'm disappointed. I had an out of town guest I was hoping to show off the restaurant to and instead will wait a bit before returning to see if some kinks are worked out.
The service and ambience were excellent. The menu has good variety. I wish the hummus weren’t served with white bread, however. Also, I would like to see a feature about what foods are seasonal and local.
I had been here once before and the service was fine. I love the cocktails and the healthier menu. I went on Sunday night and the service was awful. Our server was really slow to greet us, bring drinks, take our order, and check back/ process payment. She missed two of the drink orders and just generally seemed to not really know what she was doing. She was very nice, but it still made for a really unenjoyable dining experience for our small group with a few young kids.
I have visited other True Kitchens and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and food. I was a little put off by the waitress who was not clear on the menu.
This was a birthday dinner and my friend asked for a straw. He had to retrieve one.
Wonderful setting, fascinating menu. What we order was fresh and creative,, healthy and tasted wonderfully.
