Excellent! We have been to Tosca many times over the years and every time we enjoy stellar service, outstanding food and well-made cocktails. This is THE place to eat Italian food in DC.
Great food. Loved the apricot dessert.
A wonderful evening with friends.
Great service. Jonathan a keeper for sure. Food was outstanding.
Great service and excellent food!
Fantastic restaurant! Service and food were outstanding.
Outstanding in every respect! Ambiance, greeting, waitstaff, and absolutely the highest quality food and overall fine dining experience in a long time.
Excelente comida! Excelente servicio.
Good to see Tosca back on the DC dining scene in a new updated decor. Always great service and food.
I wish I could give it 10 out of 5 stars! We went for my husbands birthday and we were treated so wonderfully by all the staff and executive chef. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend going and will certainly return for another enjoyable meal soon.
The sauce on the excellent scallops overwhelmed the scollops. The spaghetti with clams was indifferent . It was not stepped in clam juice and had little flavor. The tiramisu was spectacular! Fire the chef and promote the pastry chef.! The dessert saved the meal. The pappardella was too al dente . Steal one of Centralina’s chefs they know what they are doing with pasta.
With a new interior and a new chef, Tosca is better than ever, and it was a joy to be back. Yes, the prices are steep, but our party of six loved every bite of every dish we ordered. The pickled peach/cherry tomato confit gazpacho threw a party for my mouth, and the simply grilled branzino was perfection. As was the case with its previous incarnation, the table service was superb.
Tosca has long been a favorite for our family for special dinners and the renewed Tosca did not disappoint! Lovely staff, perfect service and sublime food.
Excellent all around.
The food is excellent! If you prefer the servers attending to your every need at a moment’s notice then this is the place for you. If you like a casual, fun dining experience then go elsewhere.
Couples be warned, even if you have a reservation you will get the worst seats in the house: a tiny table, squeezed against the wall, rubbing elbows with the couple next to you. While our meal was very good, the cramped situation and the loud music would discourage me from easting at Tosca again.
The food was very good however my entree, dover sole, was a bit over cooked. It was still very tasty. The service was slow at the start but became excellent as the meal progressed
We certainly will go back again.
Disappointed in an old favorite. Very busy which was nice to see, but the service was terrible- seemed like the staff who worked with us had had no training - literally just slung the food on the table. Couldn’t speak to the menu. Kept pouring sparkling water in the flat water glasses. Hope it gets better
It is always a treat to sit at the chef’s table. Last night was an exceptional experience. We had the full attention of the Exec, and it is a lot of fun to watch the team efficiently churn out all that tasty and beautiful food. It is art!
Thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. Our waiter, Justin, was superb.
Birthday was amazing
Newly remodeled Tosca continues to deliver wonderful food and service. Always a pleasure to have a special meal here.
If you’re in the mood for the usual Italian food this is not the place also portions are small price is high. Would probably not recommend or return to!!
The food was really delicious BUT the service was very, very spotty! It was hard to get the server’s attention. Although the food was very well prepared the serving size and extras on the plate was lacking. We were disappointed!
First visit. Food and service were excellent. Will definitely return.
Wonderful food and service. Our hats of to the Chef and all the staff at Tosca. Very special night! We will be back.
Lovely setting. Nice selections on the menu. I grew up eating linguine with clams, stuffed squid, broccoli rabe, pasta fagioli . My parents were excellent cooks. Like all too many restaurants, I find the kitchens use too much salt in the preparation of the dishes.
We had a birthday dinner and the service could not have been better. One of my friends had a nut allergy and they made sure to accommodate him.
Loved everything about it except was very surprised to find there is no valet parking. Do hope that returns! It matters to us.
An old favorite is new again! The food was truly delicious and innovative.
Exquisite in every way. Food beautifully prepared and mouth watering good. Service outstanding.
A wonderful experience from start to finish - cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Thank you to the entire Tosca team and especially to talented Executive Chef Phil Marzelli.
Few places beat Tosca at pasta and fish. A pedestrian dish like pasta with clams is taken to a new level. Cocktails were creative.
Although our table was not ready upon arrival (the place was busy), the service was phenomenal. The som recommended the perfect bottle to accompany our meal, and the presentation from appetizer to dessert was fantastic. It is a more intimate establishment to be enjoyed for a romantic evening or special dinner with friends one hasn’t seen for some time.
Tosca was always one of our favorites and the food continues to be excellent however the service is now sub par
The food is excellent and varied as always and the service was as in the old days.
Excellent food; taste and presentation. Service from entire staff was professional and warm. Great recommendations on the wine pairings too.
We were glad to be back post-pandemic. We got what is always recommended in reviews: focaccia basket, misticanza salad (my wife and I split it), and the agnolotti. We got glasses of McNab Cab based on the waiter's description. The food was all superb, as was the service. The wine was just as the waiter had described, and was perfect for our taste--full bodied but not at all dry. In addition to the focaccia basket, they brought bread that was fabulous. I grew up on Italian bread and this was excellent. I used it to sop up the sauce from the agnolotti! This practice was common when I grew up. The remodeled dining room is lively, as is the remodeled bar area.
Simply the best. Fun and delicious in a beautiful setting with great service, great food and drinks.
Highly recommend the new Tosca. The perfect blend of exceptional cuisine with amazing service in a gorgeous new chic dining room and bar. We have enjoyed Tosca about 4-5 times since opening and the quality and consistency is evident at every turn. So pleased to see this Washington landmark restaurant come back to action with such fan fair offering some of DC's best Italian food.
Tosca was perfection. The food was superb (the whole grilled Dover sole from heaven), service impeccable, owner Paolo gracious. Chef Philip came to out table table, which was a personal and uncommon touch. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our remarkable evening. PS: The sundae is gem of a dessert.
