Toro Latin Kitchen & Bar by Richard Sandoval calificaciones y reseñas
Good fun place with great food and lively music. Service was very slow and not attentive enough. Also, we were initially given a very poor table for two crammed in by the end of the wall in the middle of traffic when there were nice ones alongtheu windows open and some 4 tops outside. I think if you are a group of 6+ it's fine. If you are single sit at the long bar and it's fine. If you are a couple it is extremely limited. The drinks were not very strong, which is a disappointment. Just be prepared for the focus to be on large groups if you are just two people.....you will think you have been forgotten. Plus, it was dark outside and we could not even read the menus. We had to ask for lights. When we ordered three appetizers and drinks I said to bring one at a time and we would have drinks as we dined and ultimately order entrees later. Well, that worked for the first app..the next two came at once followed by a request for the entree order. Clearly they wanted to rush us in and out....not sure why. It was not as if others were waiting. Anyway, it's good enough for happy hour or a casual after dinner desert and drink but NOT an upscale dining experience by any means. Drinks were resort prices....two or more times local restaurants. The ceviches are excellent. Portions are appropriate for one so if you split anything realize you need to order two items. The best part was the festive music and lively crowd. People were out of their seats dancing with glee! Retro 1970s night does that. :)
We have been to Toro several times and enjoyed it. This time, however, was different. We were seated in the outdoor area near the corridor and exposed to street noise and traffic entering the community. They were playing very loud unpleasant music I suppose to cover the street noise. This affected the overall ambiance of the evening. The food was tasty but expensive. Our friend ordered enchiladas and said they were delicious. The waiter seemed attentive but we never received the appetizer we ordered. He said it was the kitchen's fault. He offered to bring it out after the meal but we declined. We had friends visiting from out of town and we wanted to impress them by taking them to Toro. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. Probably won't be back. Not worth the high price. Too many other great dining options in Los Cabos.
Restaurant was oddly quiet on a Saturday evening but the food and service were great. There was a lovely live band as well. The ambience is unbeatable, super romantic and beautiful. Thanks to the staff for making our special occasion very memorable.
20 years coming to Cabo and checking out the culinary scene. Loved this place. Space is gorgeous and inviting despite its very modern design. Service was attentive as one would want without feeling smothered. Food is both visually appealing and tasty. Recommend the Peruvian ceviche and the short rib tacos with the peanut butter sauce to start. Healthy portions. Argentina flap steak and the escolar were both wonderful. Wine list was very nice and they also welcomed ours. After dinner the patio with live music is a great option. Would highly recommend this place on your visit. Not cheap.
The ambiance of this restaurant is great! They have a welcoming outside area that is great for both a drink before dinner or outside dining. The interior is beautifully designed. Some of the dishes were vibrant, crerative, and flavorful, whereas others were fine but not special (the NY steak was more fatty than expected). You MUST order the Mexican Coffee for dessert. It is not only fantastic, they put on an amzing show in the creation of the coffee.
Everything was excellent and unique: from the cocktails to warm bread with goat cheese dip to short rib tacos to grilled king crab to filet mignon to french fries with truffle oil and parmesan. Even the mineral water brand was unique! Wines by the glass were very good quality. The roasted corn pie for dessert is a must try! BTW, service is incredibly attentive without being intrusive. Great vibe with the house music and live band. Couldn't have asked for a better evening out!!
Exceptional dining experience. The Peruvian caviche was very well done with a citrus cooked white fish, mango and roasted corn kernels for a little crunch. Main course was wood fired jumbo shrimp, the flavor was very unique with a subtle smoky taste. Absolutely wonderful. Before dinner smoked rum old fashion was great.
Excellent food & service. We had a lovely table outdoors but could not enjoy the dinner because the music was so loud. We literally were screaming at each other across the table. The band was very good, just way too loud for a table so close to the band.
Hands down one of my top five meals of all time. Took my family out for dinner and we tried as much of the menu as we could. It was amazing from the appetizers to the desserts the menu is well thought out and executed. Would highly recommend giving Toro a try.
