This was our third return to Tintoque and our first to dine inside rather than on the covered terrace. We again chose the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. It again did not disappoint in variety and impeccable food presentation. Service was elegantly attentive.
The short story: The incredible flavors of the dishes at Tintoque literally brought tears of happiness to my eyes. The diverse and unique dishes there are so memorable that If you don’t go here at least once in your life you will be missing out on a life changing cuisine experience that should not be missed by the soul. The ambiance is delightful and playful elegant. The unique dishes will have you longing for return trips to experience it again and again. Just go and bring a friend to share it. Pure eating joy! (Tissues optional)
Would not recommend it. Poor service with subpar food.
I love traveling to try great restaurants and so I've had my fair share of amazing cuisine. I might say Tintoque has become my new #1. The chef's tasting menu was sublime start to finish, with a definite theme and flow to the flavor experience, as well as great utilization of local ingredients. It was so delicious that I did not want to leave a single bite. By the end, I was so full that I almost needed a wheelchair to leave. 🤣 10/10 will be back.
Excelente servicio y comida.
It was amazing!! Try the slow cooked tomatoes was awesome!
The service was extraordinary and the food heavenly. Please give this young chef a Michelin star or two
Three of us had dinner at Tintoque last night, June 6. This is a beautiful restaurant located right on the river Cuale, with seating outside or inside with air conditioning. The service was very attentive, and the waiter explained the unique menu in detail. The appetizers were just wonderful and two of had the fish of the day and our other friend had the pork belly. Just exceptional. And the restaurant offered us a welcome appetizer, and a mini desert as we were finished. We will all go back often.
My husband and I got the tasting menu. The food was delicious!!! It was very filling and great value for money.
I highly recommended eating here if you are ever in Puerto vallarta.
Great location and wonderful creativity in the kitchen. Staff was attentive and very friendly. I highly recommend it for lunch or dinner
Exceptional service and food
It was too hot for us outside so we moved inside, but there were several flies flying around us and landing on our food.
This restaurant came highly recommended and the food is indeed excellent, we had a table for seven and we had an excellent meal, however the service was very disorganized and very slow we didn’t get enough bread and then we got too much bread we had half our drinks and then we got the other half later we asked for more water it took 30 minutes to get more half of us had plates for the bread the other half did not they need to upgrade the service and the quantity of staff. I recommend the tasting menu its 1500 pesos pp for 7 courses.
The level of service and the quality of the tasting menu were beyond my expectations and the bill was far less than expected compared to tasting menu experiences I have had elsewhere. I would recommend Tintoque to folks who are looking for a more 'foodie' type experience.
Excellent ambiance for an anniversary. The wine pairing was excellent.
Just amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing decor. Outstanding experience all around. One of our must-stop places every time we’re in PV
A great food experience.
Personally I liked the interior dining room more than the outside overlooking a stream.
A stand out food experience.
From the moment we walked in we knew this place was special. From the host to the chefs made the experience very memorable. I had the soft shell crab and octopus. Very fresh and seasoned to perfection.
I would highly recommend
Excellent tasting menu! Innovative with the ingredients sourced from the area. The roasted tomato was a burst of flavors.
En general todo muy bien, el servicio un poco lento pero con mucha amabilidad!
Fabulous dinner! What fun when a huge iguana snuck up on me from the above tree! River is beautiful! What a delightful dinner!
Lovely place but the constant and continual verbiage coming from the masked faces of 3 different service providers about their names ( yet it is not clear who is the server, bus person, wine steward). Is totally and completely annoying. Even at the entry the same questions were asked every time I was there, making it feel very robotic. Making claims like the lovely coconut/ walnut/ green apple complimentary refresher served was also served all over Vallarta is absurd! In the 22 years that I have lived here, no where else was was such a refresher served. If the tribute was in recognition of the many native coconut vendors, well then the language from the servers should reflect that.
The attendants continued to talk entirely too much about what was in the various layers of food, the sauces , the garnishes. All scripted making the entire dining process feel robotic as though the servers could not be trusted to converse with the guests they could only robotically memorize a script. Yet when I asked one server what the day time hours of operation where, she did not know. We had to replenish our own wine glasses because no one noticed that they were empty, we had to ask for water refills multiple times. In my two separate visits I only had one natural and genuine interaction with one of servers, his name was Joel. Probably the only reason that was possible was because it was his first time as a server. The reason I have taken the time to write all this is because I was the restaurant to succeed. I have owned 3 restaurants in the US abd been a restaurant reviewer for 2 well known publications.
One thing I will say, was that the chicken liver mousseline en aspic was brilliant and delicious. Lisa
Puerto Vallarta has many great restaurants. Tintoque is the best.
5 star dining experience. The chef is brilliant at combining unique local ingredients to create special flavors
We had the tasting menu. Incredible! The wine pairings were on point and the chef does not disappoint! A must do when in PV!
Beautiful location, patio by the river. Food is beautifully presented. However the chef likes to make his dishes very complicated, using many little different ingredients, sauces, garnishes so that the taste of the main ingredient, say fish, tends to get lost. Also there's an overall sweetness to many of the dishes which may not be to everyone's taste. But it's definitely a restaurant to experience.
The very best Puerto Vallarta has to offer: a thoughtful, creative, and continually evolving menu that is replete with flavors and mouth watering goodness. The service is always excellent.
Our final dinner in Puerto Vallarta, and we saved the best for last: a return trip to Tintoque and Chef Joel’s magic.
A tiny appetizer, then a 36-hour roasted tomato (off-menu - he loved it from the tasting menu on our prior trip) and a spectacular soft-shell crab in a beautiful “bento box”.
We finished with a wonderful sea bass, plus the octopus and bean “tacos”.
Really special all around. Muchas gracias to the chef, the kitchen, and the friendly service staff.
Not same restaurant as it was when it was in the Marina. Servers and menu not as good....was very disappointed
A great restaurant at a great location. We come every trip to PV to dine here. Hard to beat. Soft shell crab is amazing!!
Food artistry was amazing and flavor wonderful! 2nd visit and there will be many more
My best meal in three years or more, thanks to Chef Joel Ornelas and his amazingly friendly and well-trained team.
We opted for the tasting menu (recommended) and a couple highlights (among nothing BUT highlights):
The “snack” which they made special after I asked about the soft-shell crab on the à la carte menu, and the tomato roasted for 36 hours on a bed of rich mole sauce.
El servicio y la cómoda excelente. Cada platillo tiene un mundo de texturas y sabores por descubrir.
Excelente, siempre transformandose. La nueva ubicación todavia lo hace mejor.
Fantastic in every way!
If you're a foodie visiting PV, a dinner at Tintoque is A MUST! Every single bite was magic, and the service was top-notch. Be sure to ask for a table by the river, because the ambience was truly lovely. Instead of a wine pairing, my partner asked to substitute with tequila pairings and the staff was happy to accommodate. This was a meal for the ages! Such imaginative flavor combinations. I would eat here again and again.
Wow times 10
Excelente servicio y alimentos
We have traveled the world, eaten at Michelin restaurants and have selected Tintoque as our top rating ! It is without question the best overall experience that we have had in Puerto Vallarta!!!
Food was okay. A la carte menu is far superior to the tasting menu. Million peso ingredients for thousand peso plates. I was a little underwhelmed given the hype.
The soft shell crab was exceptional, may be one of the best tasting things I’ve ever had. Presentation was beautiful too!
Service was really excellent, wait staff did a superb job.
If you want to have a really amazing meal, I suggest you try Makal.
Excelente la comida y el servicio por parte de todo el staff! En especial a Félix por las grandes recomendaciones de platos! Pasamos una noche fenomenal!
