Great server and great food.
Food was great, crowd was lively, service was poor. My appetizer wasn't delivered, we waited at least 15 minutes to pay our bill. Server never even came back to table, we had to flag down a manager.
Honestly one of the best brunches in the city. Mac & cheese is phenomenal, all their sandwiches are delicious, mimosas habit freshly squeezed OJ. Dining room is cute too.
Good food- terrible service. We went with a large group and a lot of kids so it worked for us.
Delicious brunch! Really good shrimp and grits and French toast is delicious as well.
Our drinks were late and our appetizer order was completely forgotten. Our server was very kind, she just seemed a little overworked; the restaurant seemed mostly full. Our food was great; I had the Gnocchi and my wife had the salmon. It's been a while since my wife and I had eaten our entire plates at a restaurant! To the restaurant's credit, they comped our drinks for the delay and my wife and I left very satisfied with our meal.
The salmon was one of the best meals I’ve ever devoured and my wife truly enjoyed the shrimp and grits. The wine was overpriced but acceptable. We definitely plan to return. I’ve simply gotta try the almond cookie crusted apple pie!
The service and atmosphere were excellent. Good is always good. Prices reasonablr
Overall great experience
Table, food, drinks and service
Food quality was not great. Everything had a “just microwaved” feel.
Great! Classic DC brunch spot, love the drink deals
First time and not my last.
Food was delicious but service was extremely slow and there were almost no customers.
Food was good. Service was slow- mostly the drinks.
The foos was okay
The drinks were good
I brought my best friends here for dinner on Friday. They were visiting from out of town for the weekend. They enjoyed the food immensely. They enjoyed the food so much so that we ended up going back for brunch on Sunday. We had a small glitch with the bill, but the manager sorted it out. I will definitely go back.
Good food - sat outside and cold but we waited to make reservation so not our fault. Excellent service
Sunday Brunch service was good as well as the food.
Love The Smith! I’ve been to many locations in NYC and this one also did not disappoint - I love the hot potato chip app, the salads, sandwiches and pasta’s! Would recommend always- solid choice AND they take reservations!! Win!!
Really pleasant place for brunch. Food’s good and service is first rate
Food and service are great. The spacing of seats is good and I felt safe. its was just very loud and hard yo have a conversation.
Really bad service & rude staff, had to wait 30 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation. They sat us at a table somebody else was seating right before us without cleaning it and the table was set for 2 even though I reminded them our reservation was for 4.Food was ok.
Always happy with the Smith
Great food. Service was delayed but that's probably because of covid. Be patient and don't blame the staff.
Burger was overly salted. Water glasses were dirty. Server was so so. Ketchup was clumpy. Would give another try…experience was just “off”…
Service was great. However, food needs some work. Honeycrisp apples were nonexistent in Honeycrisp Apple and goat cheese salad. I really don’t think there were any apples on the salad. Also, the salad was ordered without pecans due to stated allergy, and there was a small piece of a pecan in the salad which I bit into. Staff didn’t seem very concerned when it was pointed out. Manager should have apologized.
Had previously eaten at The Smith for brunch and enjoyed it. Dinner, however, was a different story. Wife and I ordered the crispy sesame calamari, little gem caesar, ricotta gnocchi, and shrimp + grits.
Calamari: dish makes sense and was tasty, but the fried calamari comes smothered in aioli which, even if the dish is dropped quickly, the calamari is already soggy and soft. Kitchen must have mistaken the garnish because the "thai basil" was actually mint.
Gnocchi: easily the worst gnocchi I've ever eaten. The gnocchi itself is pan-seared to the point of being burned then the truffle cream is added on top without being tossed. The consistency of the cream was too thick, making it more of a condiment than an actual sauce.
The caesar and shrimp + grits were decent, no real issues there but not on a level that would make us want to return. All in all, the meal won't have us going back to The Smith for dinner any time soon.
Many items pout on menu
Extremely slow to come to table
Had to ask for water refills multiple times
One guest had meal come out after rest had finished
Came here for brunch with my friend and we experienced long wait times for food and drinks. Though we had a bit of issues with food our server was great. Nial made the experience much better. If I ever go back I’ll definitely request him again.
Food was good but restaurant was very understaffed. Wouldn’t plan to go there with a time limit!
Family was in from out of town, and we really enjoyed!
I was visiting the DC area and stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant. The portions are generous. I looked at the orders going to other tables and everything looked amazing. I hope to visit the area again for another opportunity to dine here.
Came here for brunch w my boyfriend and we got here about 10 min after our reservation and they had already texted us asking if we were on the way which I really appreciated.. Food was really good but you couldn’t hear anything from how noisy it was. Definitely not somewhere to go if you’re trying to have a conversation but the brunch and cocktail deal is one of the best in the city.
Great atmosphere for a brunch with a large group. Was kind of loud but we’re not a quiet group.
We had a nice dinner but our food came before our drinks came and I had to remind the server about our drinks. When I ordered another drink he brought the wrong one. He didn’t charge us for it and was nice but just felt a little scattered.
Food as always was stellar, but the true standout are the drinks. The French 75 slushee is freaking amazing and highly recommended!
Great food, Great Service, & Great Environment! Definitely Recommend!
The food is subpar I don't understand the hype. Take your money elsewhere.
