The Rooftop at The Cape a Thompson Hotel
Had an unpleasant experience. Our waiter, Alfonso, made sure to make our party of 7 feel not wanted. We reserved a table for my sisters bachelorette and after purchasing two champagne bottles, 6 appetizers, and several drinks our waiter had the audacity to ask us to leave because we were not ordering drinks every 5 minutes. Our party decided to go dance and 2 of us stayed behind to take care of our bags at the table. We each had drinks, but he became visibly upset because some girls ordered drinks at the bar, which was closer to the dance floor. Every 10 minutes, he would harass us to leave, until I became fed up and asked if he was kicking us out and that is when he told me he was upset cause we were not ordering from him directly and that he needed the table, although there were many unoccupied tables. Will definitely not recommend or return.
The ambiance is amazing! The views are fabulous. Live music is the evening. Food is more hearty appetizer style. Really good but a bit pricey. But you’re paying for the view. Service was also great.
Amazing views, super chic and very fun
Incredible view! Delicious food! Fantastic service!
Great spot for a sunset beverage. moved to main restaurant for Dinner. --Excellant food.
If you can't afford to go to Sunset da Mona Lisa for a spectacular view, head straight to The Rooftop!!! Beautiful/setting and great food/drinks. And you'll still have $$ left to experience the rest of Cabo!!!
The prices are high but this place is GORGEOUS! The space and the views are spectacular. You will not be sorry you went. Even for one drink. It is super special. There is a reason it is named one of the 10 best rooftop bars in the world by Travel and Leisure.
The Rooftop at the Cape is an amazing spot. The view, food and service was all outstanding. Highly recommended.
Upscale tapas rooftop restaurant. Great view and ambiance. Live music after sunset. Food was good, highly recommend the pulpo taquitos and patatas bravas with pulpo. Tamarind wings were very good. Enjoyed the cocktails, view and dinner.
We always enjoy an evening here when we visit Los Cabos. I would like to alert management that the wrought iron “birdcage” chairs that we sat on last night left black streaks on both my husband’s and my light colored pants. Unfortunately, we did not discover the damage until we returned to our villa.
That being said, this is a fantastic venue for cocktails at sunset.
Always love the cape!
As usual, the best service and ambiance that we experience in Cabo - incredible wine and view, perfect setting.
Our dinner and drinks at the Rooftop were phenomenal. Not only was the sunset view stunning but the service was impeccable. From being offered shawls to stay warm in the breeze to our waitress grabbing a vegetarian menu from the restaurant downstairs. Everything was exactly what we were hoping it would be. Highly recommend.
The menu was really good and the drinks delicious! You can't beat the sunset views!
Great views of sunset and the arch. Good tapas, the goat cheese empanada was a big hit. Quesadilla was ok, boneless wings surprisingly very good. Expensive by Mexico standards, but you’re at The Cape so you’re really paying for the view.
Delicious food great atmosphere and Sergio was a wonderful waiter both times we were there
Astonishing, breathtaking views (especially at sunset). Amazing service and terrific music. Definitely not to be missed.
What a lovely place to spend our first evening in Cabo! We were staying at Misiones next door and walked over. We had amazing food, service and drinks. Would highly recommend and the view is stunning!
Romantic and up-scale/boujee, very energetic vibe and the view was fabulous. Our server, Lupita, was helpful, accommodating, and gracious. I'd recommend this spot for a special occasion!
Love this place! The service and ambiance are incredible. The band was also amazing.
Excellent small plates. Beautiful view over the bay and great vibe.
Helpful staff and incredible service. I will send clients there for special events and intimate moments as this place is great for everything!
Very beautiful. Stunning. Fabulous staff.
We are always looking for new and different things to do in the Cabo area. The Rooftop is a hugely entertaining and romantic place to go. The music was fantastic. The fireworks set the spirit. The ambiance is second to none.
Went there for drinks and it was lovely. Highly recommend the Salt & Pepper and the Gin Smash. Beautiful sunset.
We had a lovely time on the rooftop. Views are amazing; service is great! Can’t wait to return!
Great views and music. Service was not very attentive but it’s a place you want to hang out and relax (and watch the sunset), so you shouldn’t be in a hurry anyway. Food was Hit or Miss. Popcorn shrimp was good, wontons were great, and we loved the octopus. The steak taco had great flavor but horrible pieces of meat with all fat and cartilage. Couldn’t eat it. A glass of wine costs 26-28 dollars! That’s ridiculous, and we come from San Francisco where we are used to high prices. Cocktails were good (cost about 16 bucks). I still will go back again and do recommend The Rooftop for the atmosphere, views, and music.
The Rooftop lounge was exceptional with great sunset views. Our server, Lupita , was incredibly attentive and responsive..I hope when you visit there that she is your server.
Food was great! Service was pretty good. Romantic vibe. I’d go back for sure!
Music was way too loud! We could hardly talk with one another due to loud a pounding music. Food was good, but could not overcome the music.
We loved the Rooftop and the food was delicious, the view and sunset was beautiful. The cocktails are amazing. Didn’t expect the big service charge. We had 2 appetizers and 4 drinks. The service charge has put us off returning
The Cape is a gorgeous hotel. Modern, sleek and stylish. Cape, please stop taking reservations for this space on Open Table as it’s a waste of time. Unfortunately we made a reservation for the rooftop before sunset and the hostess was unable to honor our reservation. There was a line as we entered and didn’t even speak to the hostess until ten minutes past our reservation time. This looks more like a first come first served type spot. Really disappointing as this was our last night in Cabo and we’d hoped to have cocktails at sunset at this beautiful spot. I wish we’d picked another spot for our last night. I’m a frequent Open Table user and gave never experienced this before.
Rooftop at the Cape was great. We were there when it was a bit chillier so be aware it can be a bit windy and cold but very nice. Food was delicious and service was great. They had a nice band playing but not too loud so you could have a conversation.
Please know going in they add a 15% service charge to your bill as a resort fee even though we weren’t staying at the hotel. Waitress said they gets split among all employees but any additional tip she gets to keep. So you are potentially looking at adding 15-35% to your bill depending on your generosity.
And last. I think this is probably a better spot for lunch and drinks in the afternoon so you can see the awesome sites from high above the beach.
Literally we’re out in the corner with no service for 20 minutes. Was told that I was late for my reservation when it took us 20 minutes to get up there because of their broken elevators. Host was extremely rude. The whole experience was awful. Also missed the sunset due to their elevator issues. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy. Go to The Ledge instead.
Beautiful views from the rooftop and amazing service from Lupita! However, the seating was quite uncomfortable and the food was just average. We were there a few years ago and the food was much better and true tapas style. The whole place seems overrated except for Lupita’s service.
Truly outstanding- we expected the spectacular view, but the food, service (Eli is a great waiter) and ambiance significantly exceeded our expectations! We will definitely return to The Rooftop on our next trip to Cabo!
Great food and atmosphere and the staff was amazing.
I definitely recommend the roof top restaurant. The tapas were small but very tasty. We ordered a burger also to make sure we were full after the meal. The atmosphere and view were amazing. This is a must go to place while visiting Cabo!!!
