The River Deck Cafe
Great food and service and we will definitely be back
It’s an exceptional venue. Terrific setting and ambience. Service great and food drink were all big ticks. My only knock is why charge a 2% fee when paying by Visa. When you’re spending $350 plus you’d think that could be waved or better still just loaded into the prices. Overall great experience but that sort of gouging just took the edge off it.
Lovely setting, with interesting menu and very professional staff. A delightful outing for our group. Thank you
The River Deck Cafe is a very pleasant restaurant, ambience is great. I think the menu could be made simpler. It is a little sophisticated for the demographic of patrons. Thank you
River Deck offers a fabulous menu with a variety of options. We loved the interesting combinations and the beautiful presentation. There is something for everyone - and terrific wait staff.
Out-of-Towner who was recommended The River Deck Cafe for Breakfast and Coffee.
Service was Fast and friendly but never intrusive, the Coffee was on-point.
I had the Eggs Benedict, which was delicious a la carte, however they also serviced my guests requirements for special order.
The Location and ambiance were fantastic, with outdoor seating for river views available.
It did get a little noisy at times, but this was more due to the number of patrons rather than any design issue.
4.5 would recommend.
Beautiful setting. Food was OK - possibly a little overpriced for what it was but not bad. Meals came out very quickly. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Overall a nice little place to catch up with friends and enjoy the ambience of the river. If weather is suitable outside on the deck is a great location.
The best place to eat In The Albury regional area in my opinion
Excellent food, attentive service and picturesque location near River Murray. Highly recommended.
This lovely café has beautiful views out over the river, easy parking and is easily accessible. The food was delightful and the service was mostly very good. I think we must have come across a new staff member, as when we walked in we were totally ignored by a staff member who had her back to the door and was engaged in reading something, they clearly hadn't heard us enter the café and have a brief conversation with another staff member. They moved quite quickly once another staff member indicated that we were there.... tho she looked like a startled frightened rabbit. It was unfortunate that this same person could not explain what a particular item on the menu was - though I blame the management for this not the staff member. Why do places employ staff to serve the public and not clearly explain everything on their menu before sending staff out to serve....? All other staff were excellent, the food and coffee was good too. I would recommend the Deck River Café as a breakfast venue.
An interesting/unusual menu choice but everyone in our group seemed to find something to satisfy! ! Thanks, enjoyed my birthday evening. Always enjoy the view and the atmosphere at River Deck!
I have patronised Riverdeck several times in the past year and have always been satisfied and this occasion was no exception in general, bust Iwas disappointed with my duck as the fat was white and not rendered. My friend said the peas wth his gnocchi were very stringy. Everything else was excellent.
Good came out cold twice. Service slow, staff unskilled. Very disappointing.
Food & service was amazing. We had friends drive down from Canberra for lunch and although we were there long after the serving time had closed, at no point were we hurried or asked to leave which was really appreciated. Appetizer, mains & dessert were enjoyed by all & great quality.
Only downside sitting inside is it can be quite noisy even though the restaurant wasn't full. Otherwise, wonderful.
Breakfast needs to be more basic - too fancy & way too much spinach
Great location , easy to get to and park , food options although limited a bit were good , wine menu matched our food selections , only negative was placement of our table which got in way of staff and customers moving in /out to the balcony area . We will visit again
Most of our friends are elderly like us and would balk at paying the prices quoted. The noise was more than energetic it was difficult to hold a polite conversation. Food, service and attention to detail was excellent. Business is obviously booming or else we went at a particularly popular time.
I love this place. Perfect location, the staff are always friendly and check back to see if you want anything else. The food is always great.
The food was absolutely delicious, and it was the perfect day. We were inside, but we could see all the of the activity down by the park/river. The atmosphere was pleasant and really gave the feeling of Spring. Staff were helpful and pleasant, but run off their feet, so we had to flag them down for additional orders. Definitely going back though!
I try to go to The River Deck Cafe when I can. The location is beautiful, the staff are friendly and accommodating and the food and beverages never disappoint.
Excellent service, beautiful location and atmosphere would definitely recommend to everybody
Great food and such a beautiful place to be. Will definitely be back
The noise level was extremely high, it was very difficult to conduct a conversation with someone on the other side of the table. Flies were coming in all the time when the door was left open. No toilets inside you had to go outside for the toilet. Friends came from out of town, one friend from Bendigo, I don't think that they were impressed.
Enjoyed the breakfast menu and sitting out on the deck
Great food, great service, best chips i have ever had
Highly recommend to everyone in Albury Wodonga and nearby places.
I come here often. That is a reference in itself. On my recommendation, three friends had the fries.
Absolutely amazing food and experience every time we eat there.
I love the cafe. but the menu could have less trendy cuisine ideas too. my hamburger was so so.
i like a beef class hamburger...the chicken fried was difficult to eat...too chunky...
Sometimes classic salads, classic gnocchi etc...traditional is good with a mix of nouveau
went for my daughters birthday as her choice. Excellent food. They put a candle on a muffin for us to sing happy birthday, she loved it
Clean, bright location with lots to see outside. Positioned on the mighty Murray River, surrounded by people moving.
Fresh, quality, often local, food in contemporary combinations. Excellent menu. Timely, friendly service.
Always a treat!
It was a cold blustery day, so a table indoors by the fire was perfect. Service was brisk, polite and attentive. The food was well prepared and displayed on the plate. Nice variety in the wine list. Would like to see a little more variety in the dessert menu - but this was lunch, so maybe it's more restricted? In any case, I had the Chocolate Fondant(?) which was way too big for one. It's a VERY rich and sweet dessert and therefore benefits from a more modest serving size, in my opinion.
Something I found difficult was the noise level. I'm not a sound expert, but if something can be done to reduce the intensity of noise in this dining room, I think it would be money well worth spending.
Overall, though, the River Deck experience was very enjoyable. My friends and I will be back - especially when the weather improves!
Great venue to have lunch and a chat on a lovely spring afternoon.
A plus, lunch with the family was yummy. Thank you
Exceptional, an amazing experience with nothing to fault at all. Thank you @TheRiverdeck. Looking forward to our next visit.
I had eaten breakfast here some time ago and my experience was not a good one. Therefore I had not been to the café for awhile but decided to have another go and I was not disappointed. Service was much better and I got my English breakfast tea as soon as I ordered it unlike last time where I had to ask for it several times and got it given to me with a request to leave because the table was booked for someone else. Much better experience.
Recently visited for our mums 80th. Great service and ambience. Very accommodating , highly recommend
The River Deck has such a beautiful setting, and the lunch menu was quite special. And very delicious. Mushroom ricotta gnocchi got high praise as did lamb pie.
Top notch service, menu /food,ambiance,and at a very reasonable price....what more can one ask of this 1st class venue .
Have been several times and always had a good experience. Great service and lovely food. Has a great view as well.
