The Palm Tribeca

Was my partners birthday.
The restaurant was sadly empty and lacked
overall energy or vibrancy.
Food was very good as always.
Server was very slow on giving wipes for
our sticky hands after all of us ordered 3 lb lobsters .
That should have been brought before our plates were bussed not long after.
Portions were generous and good value.
They threw us in the back room and I am an 832 member Steak wasn’t cooked right, salad was average, chicken parmigiana was worse than a deli. I am done with the Palm. Officially
My first experience was great but this recent experience was not so good. My expectation on one of their meal was high but once the meal arrived, the disappointment sat in. I ordered the chilean sea bass which came with butternut squash mixed with raisins and feta. First of all the portion of the butternut squash was so small i don't know who they were feeding, a newborn or an adult. Second, there was no feta cheese anywhere in sight so the taste i was expecting turned out to be a bust since one ingredient was missing. I expected better and was disappointed so i think i will never return.
Food is unmatchable in my view. Best crabcakes in NYC. Service is seamless and kind and classy. You know how it’s decorated; kitsch is king.
But... too many unruly children who don’t know better and even louder parents who don’t care to control their kids or themselves because they’re out drinking wine and eating great food (I have three adult kids) destroys the atmosphere - and the team working there does nothing to help. A group of three grownups who go there to have a good time and talk fun and business were literally unprotected from an incredibly rude table. That spoiled our experience and we drank and ate up quickly to flee. That would never happen at Lugers, Sparks, Smiths or Mortons, all of which are great, but I prefer Palm. I have to start rethinking that, I believe.
Lobster bisque is way too salty!!! Crab cakes is very good. Steak is too burn outside but inside is good very tasty. The service is good. I thought Palm was a excellent steakhouse now I try it . It let me down !!
Delicioso y muy buen servicio, la sopa muy rica, la carne exquisita
It was good but the price doesn’t fit the total experience
Disappointing food. Not worth the price. Very good service but not impressed beyond that. The Palm in Vegas is so much better.
The food and service was great!
Always good for a working lunch, good food quick and easy
The Palm is my favorite steak place in the city. This time my steak had so much gristle on it that it was not enjoyable. I was pick pieces out of my mouth. Not nice when I was on a business dinner with out of town guests. It was a disappointment. Might now have to start going to another of the numerous steak places in the city
Once again, The Palm knocked it out of the park with the food and the service. They understand you are there for a great dining experience and they deliver on that from the moment you walk in the door. For us, this is a splurge place on special occasions and we will return again to do so.
Well I believe the palm fell a little short this time the steak was grizzly lobster was delicious seems kind of pricey
I can see why the restaurant is a popular choice. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish, great food and drink, great service, and great value.
Unfortunately, The Palm Tribeca has declined over the years. Although the service and ambiance were fine, the food left much to be desired. Brussels sprouts were brought out at room temperature. My husband’s rib eye was cooked well-done when he requested it medium, as the cut of meat they served him was too thin to be cooked at medium temperature. He returned it to the kitchen and when they brought out another steak, they brought out the wrong cut of meat (it looked more like sirloin) which was sloppily and unevenly cut. The sad thing is that it looks like The Palm’s management assumes a lack of knowledge on the part of their customers. My husband is a cook who has labored in the industry for many years and owns several restaurants, so they assumed incorrectly. In addition, the server brought out a different vintage wine than my husband requested, as their wine list does not appear to be updated. Note to The Palm: step up your game so you can once again be the iconic institution that we know and love.
On Valentine's day, my husband and I made reservations for dinner. We received the worst service and was truly disappointed. Our server only served us bread and our drinks after 45 minutes of waiting. This was also because we finally asked! We come to the Palm because we expect a certain level of value. We watched as 3 other couples were catered to. We made management aware and we still did not receive the level of service expected.
With all the steak houses options in NYC, I wonder how can the Palm be still open. The food is mediocre, the portion sizes are offensive especially when you order sides: just because the portions are so big to fall off the plates, that doesn’t mean they are good.
We went on Valentine’s Day and they were super busy but handled it like pros. There was a very good prix fixe menu for the day which we didn’t opt for but will keep in mind for next year!
Always a pleasure dining at the Palm!
Made to feel very welcomed. The hostess was very good and led us elegantly to our table. The place was packed so water and bread took a bit longer than expected. The waitress was polite genuine and knowledgeable. The drinks were slow and coming and pricey for what I was expecting. I ordered a special old fashion which was beautifully presented but could not taste the bourbon so I did not have a second one. The food arrive much later. It tasted great but the steak was too cold for me. I understand it was Valentine’s Day and the place was packed but nothing as can be as disappointing as steak that is not hot of the grill. I did not send it back to the kitchen it did I make mention of it. The taste on the steak was perfectly seasoned. Other than that I will try it again on a regular day. Valentine’s Day is never a good measure of a restaurant. All else was perfect.
The restaurant week menu was ridiculous. The choices were weak. The upgrade options were insulting. An upgrade from a caesar salad to a different one with the exact same price on the menu was $5. The chicken in the mulfata was dry and the lobster spaghetti that my wife had was flavorless. The desserts were also miniscule. If you don't want to participate in restaurant week then don't but you definitely didn't put your best door forward to get new diners.
The Palm never fails to deliver consistency with their food and service. This was my first time at the Palm in Tribeca (I frequent the DC location) and was completely satisfied with the food and service. Thank you for a wonderful time!
Was advertising restaurant week and had the cheaper items only for fixed price. Same items off menu ended up only $1 more total. Scam.
Everything was fine except that the food was too salty. The soup, the steak gravy/sauce and the chicken parmesan
Regular customers/loyalist members. Quality and preparation was not the standard we’ve come to expect at The Palm. We spent $330 on dinner and had a subpar and disappointing experience. Neither of us even finished our filets.
