The Milling Room
Excellent food and service. Will definitely come back!
Birthday - we brought a cake and they served it to us which very nice!
Delicious food in a European style setting with attentive service. Menu is on the smaller side, but the food is excellent. Great date night spot.
Always good food and fun
Lovely room, lovely food and and a friendly well informed very helpful waiter.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend!!
Very pretty restaurant located on Columbus Avenue. When you walk into the dining room there are skylights which add a most beautiful light to the double vault high ceilings. It's a very striking atmosphere. We went for my friend's birthday. I had the escarole caesar salad to start. The leaves were crisp and fresh. They made their own homemade flat-cracker like croutons which were very tasty. Then I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly. For dessert I had the chocolate mouse which comes with a combination of light and dark chocolate, sprinkled with crunchy gold candy drops and raspberries. My friend that the linguine vongole in white clam sauce which she said was so-so. It looked like a small portion of pasta with big clams ontop of it. The bread on the table had a wonderful crust. I would recommend it for the ambiance. The sun set while we were there and the room became dark with candlelight. Very nice for a special occasion.
Terrible service. We had to beg for our waitress to take our order for drinks, for food, for dessert - there for three hours. Would not go back.
We came here for brunch and it was surprisingly empty! We started with the slab of bacon which may have been the highlight of the meal. It had this tangy, spicy barbecue sauce on top which was great! The rest of the meal was your standard brunch fare. Solid, but not particularly memorable.
The interior was well lit and spacious, and because it wasn't terribly crowded it was not nearly as loud as other bars! Service was great.
This is our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood and the new chef is doing a great job!
Service was absolutely fantastic and the food was thoughtful and delicious
Very nice place with a beautiful indoor atmosphere, but does it have to be so ice cold, it ruined unfortunately the overall experience! Nice food and good service.
Great food, service and atmosphere. What else could anyone want?
The food and service were spectacular! Everything we had was excellent - the tomato heirloom salad, the yellow tomato soup, the corn risotto, the cacio pepe and the side of carrots we shared. The space itself is beautiful as well. Will DEFINITELY be going back!
Great, unexpected atmosphere. Large, interesting room but not too loud. Food was very good. Dinner felt special and festive. Would go again definitely.
This is a lovely restaurant, especially during the day when you can view the light through the glass in the ceiling. Also, nice bar area -especially when they open windows on sidewalk. Service in bar area was good.
Server at table seemed disinterested, and didn’t explain any specials if there were any. Two of us ordered the pasta not knowing one of the adjectives meant it had clams. In her defense we were engaged in much conversation, but little attempt made to engage with us when she had our attention. Food was okay. Caesar salad had gigantic leaves, and chocolate cake was not memorable. I’m sure we’ll go back b/c this is usually a great place.
The milling room is where my boyfriend took me on our first date so it’s become a very special place for us. As usually save it for special occasions but felt like going “just because” this week and as always everything was perfect. The service, the ambiance, the caring staff all make for a great dining experience. Couldn’t recommend more!
Friendly atmosphere, polished and friendly service.
Everything about the Milling Room is a pleasurable experience! Delicious food; knowledgeable and attentive server, nice ambiance in the dining room. Truly excellent in all respects!
Can’t wait to come back!
Will definitely be back! Delicious food. Beautiful space.
A rare gem on the upper west side. Food and service was outstanding. Cocktails were amazing.
Great find for an early weekend brunch. Loved the space and the proximity to my home!
Excellent food and service. Sophisticated well prepared starters and entrees. Very attractive space. A bit noisy though and the tables a bit close together. Good makes it worth it.
Food, beverages, service, space, bar, all first class. We had an accident with a mostly full glass of red wine. Several staff jumped in with soda water, towels, etc. AND they refilled that glass, a nice cab, on the house. Nice evening!
First visit to the dining room following a few occasions at the bar. Excellent atmosphere , high quality food and every intention to return .
Great ambiance and food. Service
We've already recommended the Milling Room to friends.
The Milling Room is our new go-to for family dinners as their food is always consistent and the service impeccable (Vanessa was our waitress the last few times there and was amazing every time). Would highly recommend!
Good food and fun with friends!
Gorgeous and tasteful yellow tomato soup and delicious red snapper with kholrabi had a wonderful meal and service
Food was phenomenal this visit! The best we have ever had there, and it's always been good. With their Tuesday corkage-free policy, it makes for an amazing and affordable dinner.
We had reservations on a Sunday at 8:45 pm and we felt very rushed to order our food because they said the kitchen was closing soon I don’t remember the time they said. I imagined relaxing and enjoying a slow meal with delicious food. It was not the experience I had hoped for and the food was not was I envisioned unfortunately. If they don’t want diners there that late they should not let you make a reservation at that time. It’s an expensive restaurant so I expected better.
Meeting my sons girlfriend for the first time
Our first time here. Absolutely loved it! Food, service, ambiance—just wonderful! The space is gorgeous! So convenient to Central Park. Try the dumplings. They were outrageous! Chocolate torte dessert to die for too! Highly recommend The Milling Room!
The room was freezing, we asked about the temperature but they said they have no AC which felt that was not the case as the air was blowing down in where we were seated and it was very hot and humid outside...
Dinner before Shakespeare in the Park. Very nice priced fixed menu for bargain of $50 for three course.
This restaurant is much more than a "Neighborhood gem"
It is a wonderful restaurant with a great bar; excellent cocktails and bar food as well as a very impressive menu. It is one of my most favorite places to eat on the UWS
