The food was just terrible. Dry meat filled pastas with no sauce , at all. The service was marginal, but I think that was “back of house issues”, not our server. Not a great look when you have to go to Guidos’s next door to get satisfied after dinner.

This was my first visit and it was good, but I have no desire to return. I don’t feel the value is there to go again. My meal (steak & two sides) came out on three separate plates at three separate times. One small steak by itself on a stark plain plate, then the sides separately, spaced out. It wasn’t busy, several empty tables. I don’t feel french fries are an acceptable side dish for such an expensive meal. I wanted to try the restaurant and now I can say I have.

Highly recommend it! Love the energy and ambience at restaurant. The waiter was amazing in making food recommendations that are favorites and answering question. He was very attentive to our needs and checking on us. Didn’t feel rushed and git to visit with a friend until we were ready to go. Parking is a challenge- no restaurant parking lot. Pay only options with attached lot very expensive and metered max. under 2hrs even with Parkmobile, no extend time option. Had to walk out to extend.

We noticed a lot of cuts made to the menu. Slices of bread given so you have to keep asking for more, moving from SRF to “locally sourced” Angus? Yeah I could go to the Stagecoach for that same cut of meat and they at least give me a bread basket. Hamachi crudo and salad was excellent. We might be back just for appetizers next time.

It had been probably a year since my last trip to The Lively. What once was a favorite spot to drop by for dinner and a drink has changed immensely, and I'm not sure for the better. As always, the service was impeccable and the drinks were wonderful. However, both members of my party had really suboptimal experiences with the food. It was expensive for small, pretty-looking portions, but the flavors were completely off. The tortelli were not just sweet—as would be expected ordering a pumpkin-filled pasta—but cloyingly so, with crunched up almond cookies pureed inside that made the dish almost inedible. In the cod dish, the fish was certainly cooked to perfection. However, the huge amount of miso sauce in which it swam was so overwhelmingly salty and acrid that the dish was overwhelmed and again very difficult to eat. Credit to our wonderful server for his attentiveness; he certainly saved the trip from being an unmitigated disaster. However, I think I'll be waiting a while before coming back for anything other than the bar.

Had a very special birthday dinner at the Lively. Our meal was exceptional!! We brought a friend from Montana who stated “it was the best meal she ever had “ she and my husband both had the cod I had the bucatini. My meal was spectacular. We had the meatballs as an appetizer. I would recommend The Lively to anyone so happy we chose it. Coffee and donuts was our favorite dessert. The service was excellent atmosphere excellent!!
