The Jackdaw, Conwy

Jackdaw or Jac-do in Welsh, is the nickname given to a person born within the castle walls of Conwy town.
The name is taken from the bird which can be found nesting in the walls of the town and castle.

Within the walls of Conwy Castle lies The Jackdaw, a restaurant by Nick Rudge.
Providing a unique Welsh Tasting Menu on Tuesday to Saturday evenings and 'The Nest', a reduced 4 course lunch Tasting Menu on Friday and Saturdays.

The Nest is a 4 course lunch menu priced at £35 per person in The Jackdaw, Conwy. We would love to welcome you on Friday and Saturday lunches between 12pm and 3pm. With delicious food and lots of wonderful wines by the glass, our menu changes very regularly, similarly to The Jackdaw's ethos the menu will change with the seasons around us! Outstanding from start to finish. The whole team were wonderful and a pleasure to spend the evening with. Highly recommend - get there before they get a star to beat the waitlist!

Superb food matched by an extremely friendly; knowledgeable; and young 'front of house' team who were excellent. We're both fans of 'taster menus' . . . and this was one of the best. Lovely, chilled, relaxed and un-pretentious atmosphere. Basically . . . we loved it !!

A really excellent lunch. The best pace to eat in the area. The short lunch menu is great value, not too much food and we still managed an extra cheese course.

Superb imaginative food - all courses and nibbles really tasty and beautifully presented. Service (both food and wine) thoughtful and excellent. This is a gem of a restaurant.

Great food, the addition of a £35 menu is a great introduction to the style of cuisine. (Some carb needed with the fist was the only minor niggle we had). Second time we've been, had the full tasting menu last time, was superb.

Umami heaven or hell in our case, each dish blended into one, the canapés/snacks were tasty and the rye porridge also, however it went downhill after that. This morning I still have the strong taste of umami in my mouth, something Colgate couldn’t get rid of. Service was too perfunctory but the very young waiter was excellent, there were only 4 tables booked, whether this added to the lack of ambience or not(room was freezing also) I will never find out as we will not be returning. We eat out at many excellent restaurants in the U.K. and worldwide this is not one of them, far too pretentious for what it delivers

Fantastic meal, great service and loved the story's that came with some of the courses. Thanks to all the staff and chef's for a great night. Would fully recommend.

Beautiful hidden restaurant on Conwy High Street serving amazing locally produced food. We had the Spring tasting menu for dinner and it didn’t disappoint. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!
