The Ivy Winchester Brasserie
The staff were so attentive and made so much effort to wish my friend happy birthday.
The food was incredible so tasty and overall the atmosphere was great.
Another wonderful evening enjoyed at this fantastic restaurant. We always receive first class service here and I highly recommend The Ivy.
The only point I would make is that the Aromatic Duck Curry would benefit from some additional sauce.
Thank you once again for the lovely Anniversary surprise you presented to us and for the amazing post dinner cocktails!
If you are visiting Winchester then book a table here (notice required) as it’s a truly special dining experience.

Booked a table last minute and had a really enjoyable meal with excellent service. Sat outside and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting.
We celebrated my birthday at The Ivy together with friends and had a most enjoyable evening but were pleased to be given a table in a room away from the main part of the restaurant which was very busy and noisy
The food was lovely but as a table of three including a baby I was a little disappointed about where we had been sat, my baby’s high chair was right in the walkway and it felt uncomfortable. Our table was also really small to hold two high teas and my daughters food which resulted in leaving such a mess as it was awkward to eat. Also having to put boiling hot tea pot almost on our laps. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy so pretty shocked with how crammed in we are.
Scallops were under seasond and the bacon overcooked so hard instead of crisp.
Pigs cheeks however where spot on and the pudding was amazing!
Would definately recommend the fig and pistachio feuilete!! 14 min to wait for it to be cooked but very much worth it!!
Birthday celebration for son. He loves the ivy. Service was faultless. I am coeliac and felt very safe ordering and receiving the food. They brought him a lovely choice bun with a lit candle atcend if meal. All the food was delicious apart from my spinach side dish which was very watery. Place was buzzing and noise levels high.
Good choice on the menu and specials.
Prices quite reasonable for a restaurant of this quality.
Service was excellent - disappointing that the service charge (optional) doesn't go to the staff so deducted and paid a tip in cash.
Excellent atmosphere. Food and service, wonderful.
My poached eggs arrived quite cold and too well cooked.
Table service was slow to start with, they also got my drink order wrong 3 times. However, food was amazing!
Really helpful in ensuring that we were able to sit comfortably and safely (broken foot) with excellent and attentive service throughout our visit.
A really lovely and comprehensive menu catering to all tastes and wonderfully presented - a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing meal in great surroundings.
Exceptional service, great ambience, attention to detail was fantastic and the food sublime! Had the best soup we have ever tasted...truffle and white onion poured at the table .... a truly wonderful evening. We have visited many of the different locations of The Ivy Restaurants over the last few years, but this one in particular is most akin to the original.
A bustling atmosphere, even on a Monday night. The service was plentiful, the food quick and cooked to perfection. We wanted to carry on talking after our meal and the staff found us a table to carry on outside, rich with the historic surroundings of Winchester. What a great place.
We came early on a Monday evening so it was lovely and quiet and we felt very welcome. The greeter said happy birthday to my son and gave us the window table I requested in my booking which was fantastic. I would just say that the famous shepherd's pie left a little to be desired. It was lukewarm, a little tasteless, and there were big hard lumps in the mince, but my family's minute steak and hamburger were great as always.
Nice food shame about the crying child on the next table that no one was taking any notice Off!
This restaurant has the definite Wow factor and style in spades! We took our 19 year old daughter there for lunch and were slightly concerned that it might have not been ‘funky’ enough for her, being an old-established brand. But she was blown away with the decor and the style. It was so very cool! Do check out the absolutely fabulous ladies loos! The waiter was charming and the food was brilliantly well cooked and delivered timely. We particularly enjoyed the arancini as nibbles. Lovely lunchtime experience.
Class at a reasonable price ... the menu has a great range of tempting dishes with a good spread of prices from affordable to 'pushing the boat out'.
We had a amazing evening well worth the train journey , great food and drink and all in a lively restaurant that still felt intimate .

Delicious food, great cocktails and excellent service. A great place for a special occasion!
Afternoon tea wasn’t that special. Scones were dry and hard. Cake selection poor she included a strange green drink. They’d also ran out of skimmed milk which meant we had to have full fat. Our waitress also seemed to disappear when we were waiting to pay.
Overall not the normal service and certainly not good value for money
The food was lovely but the service was very slow and one of the meals was asked to be served without chilli and sesame seeds but arrived still with both in.
Lovely surroundings and service. Food is well presented without being fussy. Tasty rather than delicious, would suit most palates that are not seeking Michelin star style dishes. A bit noisy at times due to happy eaters. The staff were helpful, highly professional without being stuffy. A very good experience for the whole party.
This Sunday it was very busy and very noisy. No vegan option on menu that I could see. I may have missed it.
My meal was cold (avocado eggs Benedict). Our waitress did say she would tell the manager. Not sure if she did. My 3 guests happy with theirs.
Great atmosphere, good food. Staff helpful but a tiny bit pushy…
Great place to spend a wedding anniversary, if a little noisy!!
Food lovely, staff marvellous. Thank you all.
it was our 30th wedding anniversary, we had a drink at the bar then led to our table.
Food was nothing special, average that you could get in most middle class restaurants.
Had starters and mains, presented with dessert menu which we told the waiter that we were full and didn’t want afters.
We still had our drinks to finish and had only been there for fifty minutes so we’ll within our 90 minute allocation.
On passing our table the waiter threw the bill onto the table without a word.
Complained to a senior female member of staff who agreed it was not acceptable and she was apologetic.
Totally ruined our special evening and will never set foot in the place again.
We are only a number to them , I doubt if the waiter even got a talking to.
Great evening out, service and food spot on, can’t wait to go back.
Love the Ivy and first time visit to Winchester one. Food and service great but didn’t like the table for two we had. But you have to take what you are given if you want to eat at the Ivy as always booked up so it’s a lottery really.
Great experience great atmosphere and great polite staff
Great atmosphere and enjoyable place to dine at not outrageous prices - lots of staff but hard to get their attention and to overlook the fact we didn't get our starters before serving our main.
Food was lovely as always. Service a little slow, took half an hour before our drinks were served, not for the first time. But the staff are great and I still enjoy coming here.
We went for our anniversary and had such an enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. The food was excellent. We were given a special anniversary treat which was very unexpected but helped make our visit a special one. Would definitely recommend.
First class service, food and atmosphere. A joy and a pleasure to dine here. 100% recommend.
Fantastic food, excellent service, a very enjoyable lunch.
Delicious food at a price which is good value considering the great ambience and excellent service. Recommended.
Me and my partner were not impressed with the food, it was very bland!
We travelled 2 hours on the train to Winchester to go here and what a waste of time and money. The only good thing was the excellent service.
Always love visiting The Ivy. My only negative being the music, I really don’t think it’s needed with the chatter of other diners. Always seems to just a thumping noise.
Second time in a month we’ve visited for breakfast and was lovely. Buttermilk pancakes really fresh and mini pastries perfect. Will be returning soon
We visited the Ivy for the first time to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Everyone and everything was glorious.
Exceptional food-range, flavours and presentation all 2nd to none.
Service - attention to detail from the second we arrived. Made to feel very comfortable and special without being pestered.
We had a bottle of the Tempranillo which was super good and worth every penny.
I now understand what the hype has been about.
Thank you Ivy
