The Iguana Restaurant & Tequila Bar

This is a restaurant for affluent folk. Great patio overlooking town. Historical building in very good condition. Really enjoyed ourselves. Waiter and other staff are very good. Musicians were really good. Be aware where you are seated, if a live Mariachi band isn't your thing then ask to be seated away from them, we loved it.

This is a really special place, in the former home of actress Elizabeth Taylor. Very upscale and it has a lively mariachi band begging at 6:30 most nights. I had the shrimp Diablo and it was wonderful. My wife had very good sea bass. Nice wine list and a romantic atmosphere. This is a great place for date night.

We had wonderful seats by an open window at sun set. The mariachis were some of the best I had ever heard. Just a totally wonderful experience.

This was my first visit! What an amazing place. The food was delicious! The service and entertainment fantastic. I would highly recommend. I was not disappointed!! So happy I went!

Beautiful restaurant in what used to be Elizabeth Taylor’s home. The food is amazing, biggest lobster tail I’ve ever seen! The view, the ambience, the mariachis what else could you ask for?

The restaurant is beautiful and the menu is international with Mexico Accents. Ever dish was beautifully presented. The ambiance is magical. Definitely the place for special occasions!

Food was good, service excellent as was the ambience. There were lots of flies though. The churros were excellent, the prime rib was excellent as was the shrimp cocktail. Casa Kimberly/La Iguana has the best ambience of all restaurants in P.V. Brunch is a little pricey but well worth it.

We have been to puerto Vallarta a dozen times and always said we wanted to check it out someday. We decided to go the last night of our trip. We had heard the food wasn’t the best, but the ambiance was worth the trip. We were pleasantly surprised. The food and the service were amazing. Our waiter was great and the mariachi band was also a nice treat. (Not your typical mariachi band). The only downside was the heat. It wasn’t an especially hot evening but there was no relief to the humidity in the restaurant. We had planned to order a couple bottles of wine and share a dessert. It was so unbelievably hot, we skipped wine and left before dessert. One member of our group had to excuse himself and wet himself down. They need to do something to get the air moving in there. We couldn’t stay to tour the grounds, it was very disappointing. We will give them another try one day based on the food and beautiful views, but they definitely need to do something to cool the place down. It really did ruin our experience, we couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I rated them 4 stars based on food and service, it really was great.

I have been to the iguana on several other occasions, and had a lovely experience. On this occasion we were seated at a table close to an outside wall in the corner patio. We had very little air movement, a great deal of ambient heat from the wall and limited view. Very disappointing, especially since we brought guests from out of town. Unless some type of accommodation is made, we won’t be returning.

Great views, food, service and atmosphere. We were staying in an all inclusive resort but decided to venture out on our last night. The Iguana had been recommended to us from a friend back home. Very glad we made the decision to go.

The location and ambiance was king here! The food was just ok. The service was excellent. High prices for Puerto Vallarta!

The location and view is incredible. A great place to watch the sunset over the Pacific. We had been to this restaurant in March 2019 and wanted to return. Somewhat disappointed this time in that they did not have the Mariachi band playing during dinner. The Mariachi band plays there from November 1 through May 31 excluding Saturdays. It is well worth a visit.
