The Iguana Restaurant & Tequila Bar
Could be more happier with our experience here! Awesome!
Amazing food, service and ambiance!
Lovely view, exceptional service, wonderful food! A special treat that will be repeated with every visit to Puerto Vallarta!
The restaurant is beautiful. The view, spectacular. The food, meh..... but a nice evening was had
Amazing views of Puerto Vallarta, attentive staff, great food and even a live mariachi band. We will be back!
Alway perfect. From the second you ring the bell until you walk out. Food was amazing and the views ahhhhh the views. See you next time.
We loved the history of the restaurant and the ambience.
Very romantic, excellent service.
Awesome as usual.
Such a beautiful restaurant with a view to match. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. We went to dinner during Restaurant Week and enjoyed a lovely 3-course meal, but we would definitely return any time for another wonderful meal.
Much happier with this visit. Back to the standard someone would expect.
We had been to Puerto Vallarta many times, but this was our first visit to the Iguana Restaurant it was wonderful. On our last night we wanted to celebrate with a nice dinner and this place made the mark. the venue was gorgeous, the views amazing and service and food top notch. Lots of great history and would recommend
Ya le hemos recomendado el Iguana a varias personas en nuestro hotel (Hyatt Ziva). Precioso lugar y ambiente y comida rica.
Nice dining room. Great service. View ok. Interior of property gorgeous. A little hard to get there. Food delicious.
Amazing food and view!
Restaurant Week in PV...superb experience...Miguel was pleasant, informative and very attentive! Food was delightful!
The former home of Elizabeth Taylor, this is an exclusive and amazing place. The entire hotel consists of only 9 Suites.
The only thing I would change is the length of the Mariachi Band and the noise level. They played too long and too loud. They were good but they stymied all dinner conversation.
A must dining experience in PV.
Food, service and ambience was amazing.
Absolutely wonderful. We sat at a terrace with a fountain and just two other tables nearby. This might be due to not being high season because there was certainly room for more. Anyway, it made for a quiet and beautiful experience. The view was breathtaking, the food delicious and the service professional.
Everything about this place was incredible! The food, the service, the view!
My mother’s 60th birthday. Thank you for making it special.
The meal was wonderful while being serenaded by beautiful music and amazing singers. Can’t wait to return again
The view is amazing the staff is attentive and efficient and the food is outstanding
Best restaurant we've ever been to!! The food was delicious yet fair priced, the service was outstanding, the musicians we're amazing - a perfect experience!!
Abosolutly fantastic. It was for our anniversary and was all we hoped for. Mariachi band was terrific as before. Will be back again next year.
The setting and views are amazing. The mariachi band (I believe they said this is Wednesdays and Fridays?) was amazing. The service was fantastic. The food was very good. The waiter recommended the poblano and black bean soup---I didn't really care for it---not very flavorful. We ordered pork shank (could have been a little more flavorful), sea bass (very good fish, sauce a little too sweet for me), rack of lamb (cooked well, again sauce a little sweet). The lobster taco appetizer was also quite good, but they brought it out w/the soup....I like thing spaced a bit better. So would definitely recommend going---food very good, but I wouldn't say amazing.
Awesome experience! Top notch ambiance, service and food. My first time. But definitely will be back on a future trip!
Extraordinary views and ambiance. However, husband was sick immediately after eating Diablo Shrimp.
Desde la entrada , el diseño, hostes, meseros, comida , atencion, la musica , la vista , todo espectacular !!!
Yes , I would let them know that ,
1-the food was cold , we had the lobster tail.
2. The band was extremly load and played for to long. It
3. Would have been nice ro jave been told more about yhe history or rhe peoperty.
So my visit was very disappointing.
It was our anniversary. We brought a special bottle of wine and they charged us $30USD for a corking fee. That was double from any the other place we have been. The $12 beet salad consisted of two tiny little chunks of beet the rest was lettuce and a very small portion . My chicken enchiladas were delicious. The mariachi band was very good. Overall it was a fair experience but a one time only. You’re paying for the mystic of ET & RB. I don’t mind paying top dollar for a top meal, this just wasn’t that.
The ambiance, decor, view, live music, food quality and selection were all OUTSTANDING! The prices were not low, but as fine-dining goes, quite reasonable. The one and only "damper" on our evening was our server, Ignacio. He is certainly not a fine-dining waiter and should seek another career. He was inattentive and curt, and seemed to be primarily concerned with getting away from the table as quickly as possible. He MAY have had knowledge of the menu and preparations, but there was no way to tell from his one-word, dismissive responses to our inquiries. Fortunately, we did not let this ruin our experience and had an otherwise wonderful evening.
In summary, I would highly recommend The Iguana Restaurant & Tequila Bar, but if you walk in the door and they tell you that Ignacio will be your server, ask for someone else!
Ok...PV is a very affordable "foody" city! You can get great food at ridiculous prices. The Iguana is not one of those places. You are there for the history and the ambiance: The Night of the Iguana movie which put PV on the map 50 years ago and the fact that Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton owned this home for their summer retreat create a memorable dining experience. And the view is beautiful with the Ocean to the West and beautiful Mountain lights to the South. As you enter the second floor restaurant (It is actually an 8 room hotel in addition to being a restaurant) there is a gorgeous portrait of ET. And to our surprise, half way through the dinner, we were treated to a roaming Mexican ensemble of music. It was awesome. Now for the food. Iguana martini's...excellent, bottle of wine good (can't get used to Cabernet's being served cold in Mexico), escargot were good, my wife's Cornish hen to die for, the chicken and lime soup..awesome, lobster tacos...very good (I wasn't that hungry so i chose an appetizer) coffee and ice cream for the finale. Total bill with tip $220 US. I ate just the other night at Martini and Fuego (excellent) for almost same dinner at less than half this price. So my point is......the Iguana is all about the experience. Glad I went there, but unlike other restaurants we have frequented in PV, I would not go back. But am glad we dined at the Iguana because we do like history and as we return home will watch the movie to complete the experience.
This place never fails to amaze. The food was perfect. The service impeccable. The views and setting unmatched.
A wonderful special occasion venue with good food, great service and ambiance. Mariachi music in nostalgic surroundings in Elizabeth Taylor’s previous home.
Wow! the food was amazing! the service was excellent and it really is a beautiful place! I would definitely return for a special occasion, as it is not the cheapest restaurant on earth....but it was worth every penny!
This is a great place for brunch in Vallarta. Price are similar to what you would pay north of the border but the quality of food and service is top notch.
