Great food, great service, and a really cool venue.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service at The House. Would definitely recommend for a quiet date night or dinner with couples.
Music didn't match the atmosphere and the stairs were steep. However the food was wonderful and our waiter was fantastic.
I decided to celebrate proposing to my now fiancé at The House, and they made sure it was a memorable evening. We were greeted with champagne & our table had rose petals and a bouquet of flowers waiting for us (flowers arranged separately). The staff was beyond accommodating with any requests, and I’m sure we’ll be celebrating future anniversaries with them.
Excellent restaurant and service,
I was amazed because they had scotch label,
Gentleman who is serving to us was very kind and a Professional.
It was very good in general. Early in n there was a very loud patron in the same section. Fortunately he quieted before my guest arrived.
Very good Restaurant Week meal. Would have rated food higher but one main course was uninspired. Otherwise very pleased
Graet space, you can book one of the rooms for small parties but everyone must be able to climb stairs.
Lovely setting, food was very good. Loved the deviled eggs and the lamb entree.
Went for restaurant week, was good, not exceptional
Staff very helpful. Ordered the tomato soup from a prix fixe lunch menu which was overwhelmingly spicy. They substituted an outstanding corn soup from the dinner menu.
The food was kind of sub par for the area and the price. The staff was very nice and the building is cute. But not really worth the money for me.
We arrived early for Saturday lunch, no crowds nice table upstairs in front of window. Our waiter, Vincent, was exceptional and made the best cosmo ever. Our app of flatbread was delicious and our lobster clubs were different and worth trying again, so good! Would definitely recommend.
The food was quite good and the ambiance was great for a date spot. Service was friendly and quick but not overwhelming. While everything was good, it was not quite as nice as what I would consider the upper echelon of NYC dining. Very good, but not spectacular.
I went there for restaurant week lunch with a colleague. I picked THGP purely based on its history and the recent renovations and was something new to try. The restaurant week lunch menu was intriguing and although the ingredients were far above your average lunch place (as expected at such an establishment) the cooking method lacked creativity. Too boot the wait was slightly longer than anticipated. Why I still gave it 4.5 star rating? Because the manager was quick to acknowledge this and took 1/2 off of our bill and packed our dessert to
Go (which was a cheesecake on blueberry compote - a-Maz-ing)! Now that is service🤩
Hadn’t been there in a few years and it’s the same. Friendly, great service and excellent food pre and choices.
Brunch: grits were wonderful, my veggie friend loved the veggie option, Benedict was just ok, liked the mustard kick.
Love it! Have been there many times. Great bar area with table top seating. Traditional upstairs. Smaller room for private parties/communal table downstairs. Very near the WONDERFUL Vineyard Theater. Truffle macaroni is amazing and a huge portion. Deviled eggs also great. Delicious cocktails.
Excellent food, service and presentation. Extremely warm upstairs for lunch so I would recommend sitting downstairs. A hidden gem in Gramercy. Highly recommend!
What a unique setting! Fun both inside and outside. Excellent food and exceptional service.
We met friends at 12:30 on a Saturday and were served on the main floor. It was not busy - - staff was attractive, friendly and knowledgeable, menu interesting even though we didn't take advantage of all that was offered (it was the middle of day!!) - bottom line: we had a lovely time in this peaceful, pretty setting.
My son and I enjoyed an impromptu brunch on my drive through NYC -- I even found nearby on-street parking.
Very expensive for that mediocre food
The House was a very nice find in the City. Extremely convenient to the Subway and The Vineyard Theater (reason we were in the area). The Bartender was EXCELLENT(sorry I forgot his name). I had VERY FRESH COLD East and West Coast Oysters at the bar and a wonderful Gin-Cucumber cocktail. He then recommended and poured me an excellent Petite Syrah from a fresh opened bottle. He gave me a taste first to be sure I liked it! Nice touch.
GREAT Happy hour form 430p-7pm. Half Price beverages and Apps.
We dined in the bar area since the upstairs was closed for a private function and had a lovely time.. My wife's Burrata App was delicious. My Deviled egg selections were creative and quite good but not the best I have ever had.
I had the Black Sea Bass over veges that was served piping hot and oh so delicious as was the Swiss Chard side. My wife's steak was ok--but this is not a steakhouse.
The service was exceptional.
definitely a go back to place if just for the bar experience and chat with the bartender again.
We were celebrating a graduation and it was a perfect spot. The outdoor space is small but on a quiet charming street, we loved it. Everyone was happy with our dinner and we had 2 who were adventurous and 1 who was a very conservative eater. All 5 of us were delighted with our meal. I would go back for my Chadham Cod with wonderful vegetables. Save room for desert , they were a perfect ending to our evening.
Sunday 5/20 We arrive a few minutes early for our dinner reservation, the restaurant is empty. The hostess leads us upstairs and shows us to a table next to if not on top of the service station! We asked to be moved to another table and was told they’re full up with reservations. We’re ready to leave a completely EMPTY restaurant and then we ask for the table that needs to be reset from earlier that day, the response “well you’ll have to wait” OK with us. Next is a visit to the restroom which is out of all the necessities with overflowing waste baskets. Obviously no one checks in between lunch and dinner service. Once seated we were given the breakfast menu. The only reason we didn’t get up and leave was because of our server, who couldn’t have been more solicitous and apologetic. He saved the dinner. However, we won’t return. Too many other fabulous dining choices in the Gramercy area.
The staff was excellent. They didn’t rush us out .
Lobster club was disappointing. Barely any lobster
Food was underwhelming.
Great service, over cooked steak
What a lovely find. Charming atmosphere with a deliciously uncomplicated menu. We will definitely come back.
Food was really good. Appetizers were half price before 7 and they were excellent. The various main courses were very good, but mt short rib was only luke warm which was disappointing. Our waiter Victor was excellent and very accommodating. Drinks were good and desserts were very good.
Absolutely would recommend this hidden gem! They made my husband's birthday very special from outstanding service, attention to detail, excellent food, ambience and its historic carriage house charm!! I can't wait to return for our next meal!
Table was ready and Ryan was great as our waiter. My husband and I ordered appetizers. My flatbread was delicious but my husband's mushroom polenta was almost cold and ready to send it back but my wife already had her app.
Went here for a date night and the cocktails were pretty good, food was great, and ambiance made it all the more memorable.
Unique Romantic place with incredible food & fantastic service, but extremely noisy
Went for a business dinner - food and service was excellent. Ambiance was warm and cozy, nice music in the background. Price can be quite expensive but worth it. Highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing experience. The food was delicious, the wine was excellent, but above everything else the service was the best I have ever had. Very attentive waitstaff who made us feel welcome and cared for.
