I really had high expectations for our dinner. We really didn't like the food, with the possible exception of a mussel app, with shaĺlots. The Oyster Rockefeller was awful, you couldn't even cut the 42 dollar ribeye. I just don't know what they are thinking.
We are glad you enjoyed the view at our historic Inn but are sad you didn't care for your menu choices. We have sold hundreds of Oysters with this being my first complaint. The ribeye is a risky offering since there is fat and gristle inside the cut that can't be trimmed. I have let the Kitchen Team know about all these concerns and appreciate your time. Were you able to address these concerns with the restaurant manager that evening? Our goal is to make things right for every guest.
Food is always great. Menu changes all the time. If you like trying new food. Come here
Thank you for the review Jong! Our menu can be adventurous along with some classics as well. We will look forward to your next visit!
Every single time I’ve been here they have exceeded expectations. From food to service to atmosphere and drinks. They could charge SO much more for how amazing it is. Our server Jake is our go-to & he always goes above & beyond for my guests and I. Do not sit on this place, go!!!
The service and food was excellent! Our waiter was very personable, friendly and attentive! The food was excellent, the brunch menu had many options to choose from, we ordered a few starters and then our entrees and everything was very tasty! I have already recommended the restaurant to three friends.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience. Brunch is a lot of fun here especially now with our gardens coming into full bloom!
Wonderful service and experience for my mom’s birthday - thank you so much!
This is a great location for a romantic date night. They have the most amazing chef, and such a wonderful story in this historic old house. I learned that the basement was even a stop on the underground railroad! They own several acres of land and grow many of their own food products, they also have an outdoor tent for those who are only interested in outdoor dining and also some other outdoor dining spaces, it is lovely, delicious, beautiful and overall an amazing experience — highly recommend!!! *!! Also wanted to add this place is amazing for gluten-free diners, they have so many options and can make almost everything gluten-free.
The owners were very attentive to all of their guests. They both made the experience unique and personal
Always fantastic food and this time a wonderful performance
The restaurant is in an old manor house that has been kept in-period with its decor. The ambiance was welcoming, but the service and concern for the staff was outstanding. The chef came out after the meal to inquire and both the servers and busters were genuinely concerned about our dining experience
Service was amazing!!
Brunch was an amazing experience. Very attentive service, food was phenomenal. The Decor was really nice and all tables were 6 feet well apart , we felt very safe. They suggested we walk around the grounds after our brunch which we did it was a beautiful sight to see amazing Sunday.
We had brunch on a Saturday afternoon and it was absolutely amazing! The host and our server were very attentive. Made a reservation with open table and were seated immediately. Quaint and comfy seating that was safely spread apart. We started with the cream cheese French toast which was perfectly crunchy, not overly sweet, and had a perfect amount of filling. I had the cream chipped venison with a side of their homemade sausage and the potato galette. SO YUMMY! My husband had the huevos rancheros which was equally amazing. They give you a whole link of chorizo! Everything was perfect! We will definitely return 🥰
loved everything. Highly recommend it. Food was amazing
The atmosphere, food, and service was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.
A lovely place with great staff and delicious food! We had our wedding here 12 years ago. Definitely will come back here again!
Loved every moment of it. Restaurant was very clean, and service was quick, efficient amd very friendly!
Thank you for making our first visit an amazing experience.
The food was excellent, but it took FOREVER to get. We were there for 40 minutes before we got our appetizer. We almost just left, probably should have.
We went for my bachelorette brunch, the food and staff were AMAZING! We could not of asked for a better time. Also the stuffed French toast is out of this world!
This place is amazing. Stumbled upon it by looking for Gluten Free options. I think about 75% of their menu is GF and there is no sacrifice to taste. Everything we ordered was perfect and you can't beat the atmosphere. Everyone from the host, waiters and even the owners and chefs stopped by our table to check in and chat. Will definitely be going back to this wonderful restaurant. Positive experience throughout dinner.
It is so gratifying to make the grade, Tom. And we know our GF guests enjoy so many choices. Putting on a personal touch is always a pleasure and Chef gets out of the kitchen when he can. We will look forward to your next visit... Cheers!
A great experience with unique drink options. Everyone was a joy to interact with and the food was fantastic.
Lovely! We love making dining experiences super special! Thanks Durgis!
Ribeye was very tough but everyone’s else’s dishes were very good. We would go back
Amazing food and service. Truly a beautiful personalized Sunday brunch experience!
Our Saturday and Sunday Brunch is a happy time with the sunshine coming into the house and tent and a creative menu for our guests to enjoy in our beautiful spaces. So glad you enjoyed your time with us!
Our favorite restaurant for food and service.
Hurray! We are proud of what we have to offer our guests and so enjoy serving up beautiful things!!
A very extensive menu for a Catonsville restaurant specializing in high-end, high quality food. All of the dishes were excellent. Very creative entre alternatives. Pleasant owner and staff. Servers did an excellent job. Great atmosphere. Loved the fireplace and historic elegance.
I absolutely love this restaurant--several years ago I literally ate the best meal of my life here (cornish hen and bread pudding, gluten free without even asking.) My husband also proposed here 2 years ago, so we came back for our first anniversary :)
That being said, I was very disappointed with most of the food this time around. Almost everything lacked flavor--the farm to table tart, the mushrooms, the winter salad. As usual the French onion soup was exquisite, and the drinks were good, but even the risotto my husband got was extremely bland (he commented that we had cooked a better risotto ourselves the week before using fresh mushrooms and parmesan, with some seared grape tomatoes on top.)
However, I perked up when they brought out the chocolate cheesecake--it was absolutely magnificent. I love cheesecake, but this was BETTER than cheesecake...it was like an incredibly rich ganache with just a hint of the most delicious honey swirled in that I'd ever tasted. Basically, no idea what it was, but it practically made up for the rest of the bland food :)
Fantastic all around. Great customer service. Superb food.
Service was impeccable. The food and preparation was outstanding!
Incredible food with truly outstanding service. Every staff member encountered was friendly and helpful.
It always does our hearts good when not only do folks enjoy what we do and how we do it, but say so! Thanks Greg!!
Went to the Elkridge Furnance Inn on 2/12/2021 for a Valentines dinner. We ere seated in an outdoor tent with cold air blowing on us. Best they could do was stuff a towel where the air was coming in at the seam, but still had a draft blowing on us. It took an hour to get a wine list after we were seated. Ordered wine but didn’t get the wine till after we finished the appetizer. After dinner we ordered dessert and espresso but did not get the espresso until after we were finished dessert. We asked where it was and was advised that our server didn’t know how to make espresso, so he just didn’t bring it to us. At that point we said forget about it. When leaving, the head server offered to send us a gift certificate to make up for everything. He wrote down the name and address to send the gift certificate. As of this posting on March 4th we have not received the gift certificate in the mail as promised! I guess we won’t get that either.
Worst service ever! However the food was delicious and very well prepared!
We are sorry for the service errors. Just a quick note that the manager who had offered to send that gift certificate actually had a stroke on February 14. Of course, with the holiday, we were crazy busy. Now that Hilary is back and this has come to our attention, the gift card has been sent. With the tented space we do our best to keep it comfortable, but actually are supposed to keep some ventilation, so it is best for guests to bring an extra layer if that space is their comfort level.
